Great video, thanks David. I was struggling to figure out how to get it to write to the SD card and the computer at the same time but your video helped me figure that out.
Great video! Still wondering when are they going to fix the live view shooting for fuji cameras. I thought it was only limited to discontinued sensors/processors (mine's xpro2).
Thanks for the video David! I'm going to give this another try when I get a new USB cable. :) The Liveview option we don't need too much anymore now that fuji has given us the webcam view. I was interested in connecting my laptop to the camera so I could get a bigger visual while recording an event.
thank you for the helpful video- However, as others have mentioned, aperture control only works with a few lenses- basically if it has a marked aperture ring, even when set to "A", C1 can not control it- Also the shutter speed dial has to be set to "T", otherwise, again, it cannot be controlled by C1. I've not been able to find a way to adjust the ISO from C1 at all-
Live view - check your task bar, when you click the live view button a new window is opened, however for me the camera controls still don't work, not on the software or the camera itself
patrick lancien unfortunately not with my Fujifilm Xpro 3: i can do nothing in Live View. It’s seems to me it’s because of this support.apple.com/en-jo/HT210191. And tether tool pro cable didn’t help.
Very nice informative and clear, thanks David. I have a question maybe you or someone can help. I use a Fuji XT 3, when tethered the « copy from last » adjustment is not carried from my the previous adjustment to my next image. An clue to what I am doing wrong ? Thanks.
Not all Fuji lens can have their aperture controlled by Capture one. I believe its only the ones with a A/Manual switch on the lens barrel and the 27mm f2.8. I know the aperture can be controlled on the 18-55mm, 55-200mm and from this video 18-135mm. The 23mm f2.0, 35mm f1.4, 50mm f2, 60mm cannot.
David Hoult thanks for your prompt reply. Updated the firmware on XT3 to 3:30 and got a new USB-C data cable. Now I can control the aperture and shutter speed but still can’t control the ISO. ISO resets to what’s on camera even after changing it on capture One pro 20. Thanks for your help again.
Dave, working with XT2, Tethertools cable. Trying to adjust camera from computer but camera settings won't take. When I adjust setting it shows for a second then pops back
Hi are you making the adjustments in the main camera panel or the live view panel as the camera adjustments don’t work in the live view panel you need to close that and use the main camera panel in capture one.
This is a strange one leave it with me and I’ll do some tests to see what I can find out in the meantime if you come across the solution please post it as it may help others.
Hi David, thanks for this video. It's great to see that Live View actually works because there are a lot of people who can't get it to work on an X-T3 (including myself). Did you have any problems and is it still working for you?
@@GrandadsReviews Since writing, I think I might have found a solution. I downloaded Fuji X-Webcam software (Mac) and after using it, I went back to Capture One and Live View started working. Anyway, hopefully this is something others might be able to try as I see there are lots who have written to you and various forums having the problem on their Fujis. Thanks again!
My camera Locks up and freezes when tethering, it's okay for a little while then the only way to stop it is to take the battery out, then wehn i turn it back on the shutter closes back up. Any Ideas hwy this is happening?
Not had this problem myself but firstly check that power management is set to off and also try another usb cable because I have issues (though not locking up) with some usb cables.
@@GrandadsReviews Thanks for the reply, I did buy a fairy cheap cable not an actual Tethertools one. Perhaps that is the isssue. I thought I solved it as my files were not compressed. and wehn i made them compressed it didn't freeze as much. so I think it must be to do with the data not sending fast enough through the cheaper cable.
@@GrandadsReviews HEy David, Just an update, I bit the buillet and bought a tethertools cable. and IT WORKS! I tried connecting the tethertools cable to an Active powered usb 3.0 extenstion cable and it froze again. ( That cable was farly pricey too, so i thought that one might actually work). So guess I have to bite the bullet again and buy a tether tools active cable too now haha. Thanks for your advice though! It's saved a lot of headache! :)
Hi! In liveview there's a play/pause button on the top left corner, if you pause you can change all settings :-)
Thank you very much, you really inspired me and helping me out over this new camera for me.
Thanks David. Helped a lot. Simple, direct and honest.

You have to close the live view window before taking a shoot!
The live view allows you to adjust the focus distance.
@@patricklancien1506 Then why does it have a capture button in the live view window?
@@terrybrooks395 Because Some Camera's can do it but not all

Did everything as you said, yet can't control the XT3 camera manual settings from Capture One Pro 20. Something I am doing wrong or missing a setting?

hi david. i heard you need the fuji x Acquire software with it to tether. is it true?
Hi no you don’t need any other software just capture one. Tethering is not available in the free Fuji version though.
