It's funny how you are pretty much the only youtuber in the face of the earth to review the classic gta's, instead of just talking about how good they are, can't wait for my boy Vice City Stories next!
Spectator this is why i subscribed to this channel
Exactly
Vice City Stories was the shit! So many features, vehicles etc only that game had
Any game that takes place in Vice is a awesome game in my eyes, that's why i will call bullshit if Gta VI doesn't take place in Vice City or San Fierro
go to the youtube channel badinfos pretty much the same but he plays the games
Possibly one of the greatest main themes in videogames history.
piraque ez and best intro cutscene.
Hell yes
Ehh... BULLY is better
Fuk yea
Lmao definitely not...
This was my first GTA game.
I was so impressed by the amount of freedom this game provided, that i didn't play anything (almost) else for the rest of 2007.
And Lips 106 is best radio.
GTA3 was my 1st played, but LCS' the 1st I had beaten.
Head radio was the favorite for me.
CHRISPLAYER 95 you’re the only one who knows what’s up in this comment section
Kodennn I played and beat GTA 3 first with a broken mouse. Then I beat LCS and VCS on the PSP, VC and SA on mobile. Though, I couldn't finished SA due to the Jet mission on my first try, so I replayed SA from the start and beat it.
Rise FM and The Liberty Jam were my favorites
I rember playing the shit outta that game. Around that time my parents got divorced, it was pretty messy. I was around 16 I think at that time, so I was constantly dragged into their shit. But this game helped me through a tough time in my young life, so it will always have a special place in my heart ♥
I was in a similar situation with my parents. This game holds a special place in my heart, and it always helps me feel better. I hope things are better for you now too.
The reason bikes aren’t banned in GTA IV, is because GTA IV is a part of the HD Universe, GTA 3 and GTA LCS are part of the 3D Universe.
Fedzor The reason bikes were banned, was because Rockstar didn't know how to implement them back then....
Not necessarily, but the point I'm trying to make; Is that both cities are in different universes, therefore they don't have the same rules, laws, etc.
@ロボット鳥山 Yes of-course, but as far as the game world goes, this is the explanation.
GTA LCS had bikes...
@@scp2110 Because they weren't banned yet...
Why haven’t Rockstar just released Vice City Stories for mobile yet? Come on, they missed the 10 year anniversary, and who wouldn’t want the whole 3D era of GTA on their mobile device?
I think it is more because of Phil Collins cameo.
1) Because it didn't do as well as the others when it originally released.
2) Because the mobile port of LCS did worse than Rockstar expected.
3) All licences for the music expired so Rockstar would have to throw a lot of money out to regain the licenced music.
@King Aadarsh III same it was not my favorite but I loved it. I'm not sure if I even have a favorite anymore.
@@TRG_real ? Stfu they got money.
@@ariesradke6193 Yeah, money that they want to spend on future games instead of old nearly forgotten ones.
Going from 16bit GBA games to have a full GTA game on handheld was mind blowing at the time
Actually, you can fly helicopters, but you don't have any opportunity to get one. Only if you do some bugs ;) It was a mission where a Heli fly across the sea towards your city and makes a small stop on a building, very close to the bridge. If you get here before him and jump with a bike on the building by doing bumping into the edge of the bridge, you can hijack the Heli.
There's another one, R* left in some code that lets you spawn a hunter in a mission:
ruclips.net/video/HjXaFArdTfo/видео.html
i remember back in the day I downloaded a modded save to my PSP that had a helicopter stored in the safehouse garage. the game engine totally supports helis but they didn't implement any because they wanted to keep it like GTA3
Rattler haha i hav a cheat menu that allows u to spawn helis
Yeah, a lot of buildings aren't solid except at the bottom, people who learned to fly GTA3's Dodo found the same thing
I remember going up the stairs of that building in order to not trigger the next event and there it was, functional helicopter
The first GTA I've ever played. This game will always have a special place in my heart
I can relate...it will always be no.1
My Dad was a driver on GTA: LCS. They were doing preliminary pictures in Scotland for building archetypes. Was the best story to tell in school.
From what I can remember, the PSP version of GTA: LCS didn't have many major slowdown issues that the PS2 Port did.
Playing LCS on my Vita right now and there is a little stutter sometimes when rain starts to fall or when turning a corner, but it's barely noticeable.
I didn't have any lag when playing on the PS2 Port. Maybe I didn't notice.
I had a few slowdowns on the PSP version it does play faster of a memory stick which i did at one point. I think with the PSP version no one really cared cause it's 3D GTA on a portable system but the slowdown on the PS2 was unacceptable since San Andreas ran like butter *compared* to this. I think Rockstar Leeds or North Half assed this port big time and made no optimzations to game.
Kinda reminds me of the San Andreas port to Xbox, I wish Vienna ported it instead of North. It probably wouldn't have come out until 2006 though.
what's GTA? you mean GDA?
I miss the days when R* released a game more than once every 4-5 years.
Yea not gta
Just beat this for the first time today. Simply amazing loved every second of it . Wish toni and his mom were a bit more fleshed out I loved those missions
Actually GTA 4 and 5 take place in a different universe than the PS2 games. So the motorcycle ban could just not exist.
Ray Valor But Lazlow is in every GTA game.
They are in the same universe. GTA 3 has no motorcycles is because it's shit.
Mazzy Kojima - rockstar literally said the games are in different universes
@@PoopyDoopy39 shhhhh, the ducfetnt universes is still a shitty thing
So all the games co exist in one universe to me
@@MarcusCollins69 how though. LC and LS are so different
Just wanted to say on the subject of motorcycles being in GTA 4 even though that game takes place in 2008 and they were supposedly banned in Liberty City by 2001 - Rockstar themselves have explicitly stated that there are three completely separate universes in the series. 1.) The 2D universe, consisting of GTA 1, GTA 2, GTA London 1961, and GTA London 1969, 2.) the 3D universe, consisting of GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and the obscure GTA Advance, and 3.) The HD universe, consisting of GTA 4, Episodes from Liberty City, Chinatown Wars, and GTA V. So the bike ban of the 3D universe that affects GTA 3 doesn't exist in the Liberty City of the HD universe where GTA 4 takes place. A great video though! I'm a big fan, and will continue to watch your content. Quality stuff.
I just got back into this game! Perfect timing, seriously.
Same, lol
Same but I'm playing it on PC a mod for Vice City
Carl Smith Ah yes, I've heard of that mod. It looks awesome.
Retro Plus My favorite thing was getting a Heli because your not supposed to do so.
2is Toomuch Oh really? You can get a Helicopter in GTA liberty city stories?
8:19 predicted Cyberpunk
It’s a shame the iOS version has so many bad reviews. I remember when this first came out on PSP, it revolutionised what you could do on a handheld, to think you could have a fully fledged ps2 game on the go back in 2005 was insane at the time!. For that alone it’s gotta stand as a feat of technical genius as far as the PSP version goes!
@Niche it runs smooth as fuck on mobile tho
Yeah it was amazing back then and i remember everyone wanted to get a psp, i dont know how they messed up so bad a few years later with the psp vita
@@LG-ro5lepassion was dying in many places in the industry at that time, it fully died as soon as 8th gen rolled out
GTA IOS is released and instantly becomes abandonware. Don't risk your money, they do not care if the applications work.

Coincidence? I think not.
This is one of my favorite gta games, maybe the most forgotten. It doesn’t have as many features as Vice City Stories but it improves on GTA 3 in so many ways like with targeting and aiming, the map, better physics, bikes, better radio, etc. People always complain about no helicopters or no swimming but it never really bothered me, and I can’t say I’ve ever noticed a frame rate issue and I’ve played this game a ton. In 2020 I 100% completed all the PS2 era GTA’s and this is right up there with Vice City as my all time favorites in the series. Also the dirt bike missions are one of the most challenging side quests I’ve ever done in a GTA game, loved them.
I just bought this game. Always wanted to play it.
totally agree i have the psp, ps2 and psn versions of this game and the only version i noticed the slowdown on was the psn version. playing on the psp or an actual ps2 to me personally wasnt very noticeable at all this gta was always in my top 3 favorite of all time loved the story not being able to fly or swim never bothered me at all even in gta3 and vice city honestly the 3D era GTA games will forever be the best 5 games in the series gta4 and 5 is good but the 3D era titles have a certain charm about them at least thats my opinion💪💪
Growing up as a kid when this game came out, the main theme song was such a banger that I felt like a major badass everytime I listened to it. One of my favorite GTA games of all time!
0:16 “the GDA series” I laughed so hard
I love the format of your reviews. They're so comprehensive!
God damn my stomach was pounded with nostalgia hearing the theme music for this game in your intro, haven’t heard that in a long time I loved this game.
I remember getting 6 stars stealing a tank and storing it in the second town.
Even while I'm at a GTA video I still run into Homestuck!!! I really can't outrun my past xDDD
can't wait for GTA:VCS - ColourShed review. it's one of my favourite classic GTA series.it had Amazing soundtrack, Awesome graphic and a good story. not to mention Drug war territories before GTA:CTW. This game is an endless enjoyment from my childhood. Ps: i love your video
I Don't have any VSC Is the best GTA IMO.
You have motivated me to go back and play all the classic GTA games! Getting through 3, will then do VC & SA, then LCS and VCS. Even though these games are showing their age, they have some magic about them I don't seem to feel with GTA V. I don't get why your videos aren't way more popular. Thanks!
As somebody who lives in a city, let me tell you it's not at all inaccurate the amount of construction happening in LCS.
Facts
The site being completely empty and nobody ever working there is pretty accurate as well.
Bruhhhh that motorcycle sound hit me 😂😩😩 the nostalgia
I still remember the crossbike was called sanchez😂😂😂
What slowdowns are you talking about?? I have both the PSP and PS2 versions and never noticed any slowdown. (I have the canadian versions).
LeoneFamily Some systems have lag oddly enough, no idea if its a storage thing or what though (i.e. how it’s installed)
I never had slowdown issues either on both.. And it plays even better on a Vita.(slightly better graphics, less pop up)
I don't remember any significant slowdowns either (American version on PS2).
No slowdowns
it was a bit laggy sometimes on my psp 3000
“If a game today would have slowdown like this, it would be an outcry”

Just discovered your channel and honestly so far I love it your reviews are both informative and fulfilling without coming off as being biased :)
Great channel with great reviews. Nothing but classics and you go in depth with the review just keep working hard you’ll get the recognition soon enough
Great upload and agree its sad we don't have any of them on Switch. Would like to see the stories games on there one day
I can't tell you how excited I was to get this on Christmas when it came out... A portable full fledge 3d gta? Hell yes! I remember going to the basement with my step brother and meticulously unwrapping the presents downstairs to see if we got it. The amount of hours I spent playing this game on car trips... Outside with my friends, on vacation. In bed oh my goodness great times
Dude, I really do enjoy your reviews. They are very good. I've seen a TON of your reviews. Your transition are good and you articulate your points very well.
Did you forget to mention Chinatown Wars?
Thank god I found your channel lol I started buying ps1 ps2 and ps3 games and your reviews makes up my mind on a lot of them
Maybe you should do a Burnout 3: Takedown Review. THE most legendary Arcade Racer on the PS2
There's a PC port that uses Vice City as base. It has all the main story missions, almost all the side missions, options to enable or disable trails and reflections. All the radio stations etc... It's a really well done job. To install it is very easy, you just download it and install it in an empty folder. A lot of modders worked at it, including ThirteenAG, the author of Widescreen Fix for many games. It's name is "liberty city stories remake" or something like that, rn it is in beta 5 but it works very well, faithful to the original
Relieved I came across your review. You saved me from getting the PS2 port, I had no idea the slow down was still that bad!
AvengedS939 yeah it’s a reason I cant play it more then 3 hours at a time
It’s fine on vita
Regarding the slowdowns, I played LCS both on PSP and PS2 on PAL and remember it having more framerate issues than the previous games. But I played the hell out of the game and it never ruined the experience. Would playing it on a modern tv (vs. CRT back in the day) make some difference in FPS? Or is it just me being more used to framedrops back in the day perhaps?
I like how you can run with two handed/heavy weapons in this game. That is already an improvement on the gunplay for me.
My first GTA I played.
Loved the graphics but pretty boring once you finish the game, I kept on trying to get into impossible places and trying to find a helicopter spawn lmfao.
The game entertained me so much and I will always love it.
You can get save files to have the helicopter in the garage (atleast on PSP). Apparently it's possible to steal in one of the missions. The PSP also has a trainer if you can get it working.
Just use controller setting 2 and it uses the helicopter controls for GTA VCS
Yaa correct boring story
Keep up the awesome work dude, been here since 5k ish subs and loving the content
11:44 I never really realized how many games Rockstar made from 2001 to 2006. They made a GTA games every year in that span except 2003. And they also had multiple other great games too. Now it's been 8 years since GTA V and the only game we got was RDR2.
Rockstar isnt what it used to be no more
I played it on PS2. Loved the easy missions and the all out violent mayhem. A blast!!!
What? The game on PSP ran fine, I had it. The only slowdown I remember was when a lot of cars were exploding. Other than that, it was some areas in VCS that were laggy. I do hear a lot of complaints about the PS2 port though.
the ps2 version was oh my god terrible, even back then i kinda get frustrated but i didnt have psp and the game is still enjoyable nonetheless
amazing review. Keep up the good work!
Your reviews are fair and opinions of your own personal feelings on the game shows you're a real gamer. Not some fake journalists IGN reviewer. I subscribe, cheers
Pretty much you don't have to be a company to produce good reviews
LCS would be great if it had San Andreas features, not all but at least just don’t leave it blandly identical to GTA III like you said. Vice city Stories is a lot better. LCS is fun, but it’s really tedious. Love this vid, great job
Being able to carry grand theft auto in your pocket was amazing
Hey Colourshed, I've been watching a lot of your reviews and they're all amazing and it would be really cool to see what you think of GT sport and Need For Speed Payback. Would you be able to do any of them?
idk why man but i love your reviews. you will get big quick
Even the ps3 version didn't addressed the slow down issue, since it's just a straight port (again), good video, like many have said before, it's uncommon to find an actual review of this game.
8:17 Cyberpunk sends it's regards
Lol
Nearly at 10k subs :-) Well done
Yes thank you Colar I've been waiting for this review thanks
You should review the Saints Row series in the future.
Omg yesss
i agree
Your dream came true bro haha he made 2 vids
@Covid 19 You are an idiot and should not have any sort of internet access.
@Covid 19 - Saints Row 1 & 2 are not GTA ripoffs. They have their tone, atmosphere, and methods of storytelling that makes them different from GTA.
I think it doesn't have San Andreas' more advance controls not because they're trying to be safe (but that is a part of it) but because of the PSP itself. There's not enough buttons to bind these movement like crouch and stuff.
I don't remember much but I guess they solved this issue in Vice City Stories with combined keys control.
*Finally* *Also, I only know about you channel for about a month, and I like what I'm seeing* Can't wait for more
Love the review! Do one for Driver 76 on the PSP. It's crazy how nobody talks about that game. I think it's neat!
At 8:19, foreshadowing for Cyberpunk2077. Nice
When I first played the Android/iOS version, I was amazed to see the Lighting and shadows.
seriously, why do you only have 9,500 subs? Your content is golden
What TV are you playing this on? It's highly tempermental to new TVs, I had to set mine to "Game Mode" for it not to have massive lag
When vita came out i was hoping for a new stories gta titile to come out...
I was hoping for a San Andreas stories
They should remaster and release LCS with features in VCS and SA, and VCS needs features in SA. (Owner of both console games)
Dude I love your reviews 👍👍👍👍
Wow so close to 10k subs. Good Luck!
Just played LCS on PS2 and I never had the kind of slowdowns you show in 14:53. Yes framerate was bad, especially in your hideout or on foot, but I never experienced it as a "slowdown". I wonder if your disc was scratched or something.
I feel that the story games are basically the improved versions of the games they are prequels to.A also I don't have that slowdown problem. Also there is multiple ways to get a helicopter.
I love how you talk about the gameplay being distracting as a scene plays in which you ride past a giant billboard of a lady's chest 4:11 no clue whether this was done purposefully but I love it
Did you play it on PS2 or PS3? I don't remember any slow downs on my PS2 slim when i had it.
Review Midnight Club LA pls.
At 8:25 cyberpunk 2077 comes to mind lolz
I was just about to say that kol
I never have the turning frame skip. On PSP, I play off the memstick though. I originally played with a UMD and I don't remember any lag. Try CFW and clock it at the maximum setting maybe
You can steal a Maverick in 2 different missions by doing some skilled jumps ! Also there are several flying vehicles obtainable via vehicle spawners. Since LCS uses a enhanced version of the Vice City engine, you can fly the Maverick, Police Maverick, VCN Maverick (yes VCN), and Hunter. The GTA 3 Dodo is also there but doesn't work. Also I never experienced slow-downs on my PS2 version and I have the PAL (EU) version.
I started Liberty City Stories in preparation for the GTA Trilogy DE, for the first time in 2021 (8K widescreen in PCSX2 is nice). Anyway, I knew this was basically the city and activities from GTA 3 for the most part, but I'm surprised at how visuals are better than GTA3 (even if it's 5 years newer, it was still originally a PSP title). Also, there's soooo much content in this game.
Like besides the actually full blown story, there are tons of collectibles, full blown side missions and vehicle side missions. Also stunts, packages and businesses (car/bike dealer? Lol).
this was my first *real* GTA game and I loved every minute of it.
I could see where other games had been influenced by it and the influences of previous games in it, and I found myself playing it like other open world games in a cross-discipline fashion.
I yesterday Discovered your Channel and fuck i Love it thx for those awesome Videos
Dang, this was my childhood, along with VCS. Loved those games
This was my first GTA game, so I have fond memories of it ^^ And it also cemented the 3D era version of Liberty City as my favorite setting of the games.
When I got my PSP back in 07 this was the first game that I bought along with Burnout Legends. Completed it 100%, took it to school and played multiplayer with my friends PSP, it was probably my first time with a GTA Onine-like experience. Great review CS!
Love the reviews ❤️
Very in depth review! I only got my hands on the game by my friend back in the day, should I buy the mobile version by the way?
15:05 I would disagree for anyone to not pick it up (considering they have played the other GTA titles). Storywise, its a great companion piece to GTA 3 and San Andreas and fleshes out the stories of the Sindacco and Leone crime family. I played the PS2 version a long time back and would still prefer slow down over the clunky touch controls of the mobile port.
It's funny keeping hearing the accent: "GDA 3". It's gonna kill many braincells for lots of people xD
Great review man
I wish this game got a lotta love but was so underrated
Oh my, i completed the game yesterday, and now a review
Nice timing 👍
I don't knoooow.. I remember playing it on my PSP (3000) with smooth 30fps.. :O
Cooper the point of performance critique is to critique that they ported this game badly to ps2
Martti Kauppi
It works perfectly fine on the PS2. I mean if you have a hard on for fps you will notice it. But if you play a game for the sake of playing a game you won't notice it.
Same
I miss the old gta when they actually focused on story, now it’s just all about online Nd less story.
Yeah true but what can we do?
The gta online community is huge gotta give them what they want since they're the most vocal
Thanks for the review! One of my favourite GTA's
Good reviews mate
There wasn't slow down on the psp version anywhere near as bad as the ps2 version.
True but also there's GTA Chinatown Wars on the DS, PSP, and Mobile but I still would like to play them on a regular console.
3:20 why would I want to know this right now before I’ve even played the game? when I watch a review, I want to know if the game is worth playing or not, and what good and bad gameplay features are to be expected. what I don’t want is any character cameos to be spoiled for me
Will you do a gtsport review?
