Do you think AI will push home crafters out of sewing? Also, what innovations do you think will come to sewing? Thanks for watching.

Some services can’t be replaced. Barbers, cooks, beauticians need to get ready. I see textile needing human inputs too. This video was awesome because I have been thinking about those VR’s and how I can use them to

Imagine just how much more sewing genx can do without buttons or a touch screen in the way. The possiblities are really exciting. But, I do still understand why some would be hesitant. Thanks for watching.

This is all predicated upon the power continuing to flow. And given what I've seen of dirty power (undervolted and fluctuating) killing computerized sewing machines, I think that it'd be a great idea for people to have a treadle machine just as a backup.

Continuing to take try to take the joy out of living. First, self-driving cars and now our sewing machines. I hope I don't see this in my lifetime, but for some reason I also don't see it working very well.

It’ll be interesting to watch how AI affects our home sewing machines. I think the big changes will show up first on the industrial/commercial level and then in the top-of-the line domestic machines. I’m cautiously intrigued - want to see where this goes but glad my home sewing machines range from computerized to vintage to antique treadle. I really enjoy having things like pivot, auto-tension and needle-threading but sometimes I just want to do slow, meditative sewing on a vintage straight-stitch.

Yes, there certainly is a time and place for all things treadle to computerized. Thanks for watching.

I think the most home sewists enjoy the tactile aspect of textiles and sewing. Commercial applications are more likely to utilize AI and computerized features to increase production. I prefer fully analog machines. I don’t care for computerized machines at all. I have one old computerized machine and I’ve only used it once for one project.

AI and technology have certainly changed the world of home sewing, but when are consumers going to say ENOUGH! Top of the line machines like the Pfaff Icon, Husqvarna Epic and Baby Lock Solaris have amazing features but how many sewists will use or need even a fraction of the capabilities? The learning curve is extensive and do crafters want to invest the time trying to figure out how to use various functions. Costs are prohibitively expensive, and sewists must consider the cost--benefit ratio. Personally, there is NO WAY I could justify a sewing machine that costs almost as much as a car.
