I just bought a sealed complete 1988 topps set, and it was so damn exciting going through all those cards lol. I paid $6 for it and with just my most expensive card, I made 6X more than that
So I just pulled a Nolan Ryan, Mark McGwire, and Mike Schmidt card out of a 300 card sealed pack lot from Amazon for 35.00 as an early birthday present to myself. It included 3 1987, 1988, and 1989 Topps sealed packs. Based off of this video, I probably made my money back just off the 1988 cards. Thank you for this video, so informative.
the first wax box i ever bought was saved for in my weekly allowance for weeks. I finally was able to get my mom to take me a local card shop in santa barbara and i bought the box. i sat on a saturday afternoon and tore open every package looking for all the mets players (mainly gary carter), my mom sat next to me with a trash can to throw each piece of gum away as she was convinced it would break my teeth!
If your looking to buy the card I can look to see if I have it and let you know, I just need room in my apartment and my collection of sports cards and memorabilia as well as disney pins are taking up space, let me know if interested.
@@mightbegenius just send me any information of where I can send pictures of what I have and videos and I would be more than glad to send both as I am in need of help..
I just found my 1993 FLEER Micheal Jordan card in its wooden protective case for MVP, as well as 2 Babe Ruth Cards in wooden protective cases and cannot tell the years.. i have complete unopened dealer packs for baseball as well as operation DESERT storm and horse jockey cards... yes i am aware they are not listed
i didn't know walter payton was a strikeout artist, lol. sure are alot of hits in this one. I remember opening up packs and getting excited over a lot of these. but isn't that what the hobby is all about?
I bought 2 large boxes of Baseball cards with a few basketball cards mixed in, Jordans and many LA Lakers from the 1960's, 70' to 1988. I have complete Sets of Topps, Donruss, Fleer & Ultra's. I haven't been through them all but I did see many Astros, Rookie N. Ryan's, Wade Boggs, Jose Canseco & so on. The Deceased millionaire Estate Sell that I bought these boxes of mint condition cards from knew what he was collecting. However, I have no idea what I have or how to sell. I know they all have no chipped corners, bends, etc. Just a ton of beautiful cards from most all players between the 1960's to 1988.
I once bought only ONE topps 1988 baseball pack and got a #250 Nolan Ryan with NO marks or stuff like that. At first I thought it was your average 3 dollar card, but then I realized I had just pulled one of the rarest cards from 1988. Lol good I didnt trade it found out just in time😂😂😂😂😂
Ken Caminiti was an Absolute Gamer he should get the Respect he deserves just cause he was found in a apt in the Bronx deceased after he retired shouldn't have him looked at differently addiction is a real sickness Thank God I have 8yrs of Sobriety under my belt & will continue to take it one day at a time
I loved the '88s back in the day. They were pretty much worthless out the gate, but they were beautiful to look at. Reminded me in many ways of that beautiful '67 set.
These are great! I’ve been subbed for awhile and always enjoy the content; the pricing is a great addition. Mike Schmidt’s hair was installed backwards without a doubt! That’s the sort of keen observation; I’ve come to enjoy from your videos; know that your efforts are appreciated by myself at the very least.
I have this entire collection if interested, I have over 100,000 sports cards and die cast cards, as well as die cast NHRA cars, pogs, marvel comics, looking for a buyer
Got my set for $5 a couple of years ago.. not sure where you got those prices from. Most cards in this set can be had for 10 cents to a couple bucks topps, i mean tops.
With grading fees so high, and values so low, I wouldn't do it. The prices of these cards have seriously declined since this video was made. I love these cards but grading them right now should not be on anyones mind. Don't even think about it! I would reccommend that if you have a favorite 3 or 3 cards, I would buy them already graded. I graded a few of them back when PSA was only $10.
I must say I've never heard anyone rave over the 1988 TOPPS Baseball set quite like this. One of, if not THE most mass-produced Topps sets, the cards are very plentiful. PSA 10 or not, you have to consider how many ungraded 10s are out there that have never been graded. I would advise you to buy the complete sets if you want these cards.
The stated values on these cards is insane. You can find most of these loose for a few bucks each in great shape on Ebay. Are these PSA 10 values??? Oy Vey... This set was literally a throw away set back in the day. And the day that Bonds gets into the HOF is the day that being in the HOF means nothing.
Walter Payton was 1 helluva pitcher, how do people continue to make videos? The Mattingly card in thumbnail isn't a real card either, And Mike Schmidt is the greatest 3rd baseman of all time? Wonder what Brooks Robinson thinks about that dumb statement?
she just reads articles from the internet word for word from some dude that writes articles for peeps to click that have 100 ads on the blog. She has no actual knowledge. Otherwise she would catch those!!
Love the 88's... remember opening a many a pack back in the day
They were (and are) tons of fun.
Are the prices of the 1988 Topps cards for Tiffany mint 10 graded cards?
Good video! This set was my first complete set and this and the wood grain 87 hooked me on cards.
Thanks! I was already a few years into being hooked, but the wood grain bit me hard, too.
I have a complete sealed set of the Topps 1988.

I bought it last year for 5$ and now it’s like 300$ cuz one of my cards is a error car

Glad you like them. Thanks for watching!
10:45 Ryan passing Walter Paytons strikeout record. Lol. I already know that you know so now we both know.
lol
The Ron Gant rookie in the 88 will always be the most valuable in the traded set in my eyes. Lifelong Braves fan.
He was such a fun player!

Roger Clemens was #70. I have the complete set. #395 was Jimmy Key. # 394 was Roger Clemens "All Star card.
Walter Peyton still holds the strikeout record in my book.
😂

I’ve got most of the cards mentioned in this video. Would you recommend getting them PSA graded?

I'm assuming this prices are BGA/PSA 10's

I'm not sure if these estimations are correct. Can you please share your source?
As stated in the video, they are selling prices for PSA 10 copies from the PSA Auction Prices Realized tool.
These are PSA 10 graded cards. The values are mostly less than the grading fee!!!!

At card shows most of the cards shown are in the dime box. The whole set sells for $35.00 shipped on ebay.
track error card prices! do videos on error card prices! no one else is
Great idea!

pre recorded banter?
Wait, what??? Walter Payton was the all-time strikeout leader?!
ALL 1988 Topps and the word "Valuable" do NOT exist together at all, worthless, more produced than grass on a golf course.
Walter payton strikeout record?
What grading are these prices based on??
All the people that were paying for 🎉sport cards for years but to only find out that they're not werth much if anything. 1990's throughout the 2000's

Has anyone sold any sports cards and made any money if the cards were not graded ?
Show the back pretty please. ✌️
Just started the vid, I hope there isn’t a Ruben SieRRRRa card in this list….
I but sell and trade
I have plenty of old cards and current cards
Is there really any value in sports card's or is it really just the card graders making money,
Sport cards are not cheap now days they are really spendy$$$$$$$$$$$$
Is this a joke?
You can buy the whole set for 50$... how can these cards be 60 ton70 each unless maybe a psa10
