The new teenage robot wasn't too scary, he's basically just Jason Voorhees but a robot. Dunko on the other hand terrified me the moment her nightmare showed him wake up, and when she dug him and and he was in a different position, smiling insanely

The one who played dunko is actually a girl. She’s a 04 liner and now grown into such fine lady ❤️ Just to add some info about her, she played a duo character in svaha: the sixth finger and won the baeksang award for best new actress in film!! Best girl things
this is EXTREMELY well done. these kids were so good at wut they were doing and dunko did such an amzing job of being a robot! some scenes made me a bit uncomfortable but it was still REALLY good. by the scenes that made me uncomfortable, I mean the scene where dunko OPENED HIS HAND. that just made me feel kinda sick and i was eating dinner. luckily, i didn't throw up (yay)

This does pose a good question in theoretical computation. At what point can we consider a program conscious and deserving of rights and freedom. Here is the rundown:
1. Suppose you create a simple chatbot, that can take in user input and give a logical response out. You would most likely make this theoretical chatbot with a CNN (convolutional neural network), allowing for it to look over thousands and thousands of sample conversations to learn from.
2. Now suppose you try to teach it how to recognize emotion (note I did not say understand it, simply recognize), and respond accordingly, along with now adding a voice module that can simulate emotional cues like a lower and softer voice for fear, a large happy voice with laughter for happiness, etc...
3. Let's make this program even better where it can now store its previous data, and learn from that too. This is essentially a memory system.
4. Let's now try to make a robotic body for said program, and run a virtual interactive simulation for it to learn from, and then actually apply in the real world.
5. Let's add input sensors and train them to react accordingly to what is detected, such as a chemical compound detector that when it detects certain compounds, it will react with either apprehension or with no worry.
6. Proximity sensors and cameras in the eyes can now process visual data along with distances.
7. We can create a haptic feedback mechanism all along the robotics body so that it can process touch and feel data, and react accordingly.
8. We can also add a danger response, that can tell the robot when something detected is not safe or good.
At this point, we have a robotic suit with an algorithm that can use its 5 senses to analyze its surroundings, talk to people, store memory, have emotional cues and response, and also detect emotion and respond correctly to them. It also can access its memory and learn from it, allowing it to change and morph to its surroundings along with getting better at human interaction.
At this point do we still consider an algorithm, or is it now a fully conscious being? Like us, it can now detect and understand emotion, respond correctly (simulated sympathy, aggression, empathy, etc...), sense surroundings, remember things. Aren't we just like biological robots, just filled with a bunch of cells and neurons that are like machinery, getting sensing input data in and generating output?
At what point do we consider this a conscious entity, or is it simply because it is not made out of the cells we have, even if it may have every same exact function as us, is it not consider conscious, but simply something for humans to use.
What if at a certain point, it starts asking for rights? To we mark it off as a programmed output or do we look at it as cognition and logical reasoning?
These are pretty important questions to consider if we pursue the development of artificial intelligence merged with human mimicry in the future.
( I am a comp-sci student so please don't mark this as me just trying to sound deep. Just an intriguing post that's all. If you wanna know what field I study, it's data science :) )

You can say we are just biological robots but every naturally formed life is a biological one.
For some reason nature doesn't do metallic creatures with consciousness therefore actual biological cells instead of transistors may really be what life is all about.
I suppose it depends on what conscious means. Personally I think that if it has genuine wants and desires then it should have rights. I do believe that we are biological robots and that so far there isn’t any huge reason to believe that a robot should not be able to feel the exact same way a human does (unless I’m mistaken? If anyone has some good info let me know)

This video is obviously set in a dystopian world and obviously the technology is so advanced that u have android robots as babysitters and obviously it’s really common as well seeing as dunko was there for 10 years. Yet this woman really couldn’t work from home with all this advanced tech. I mean sure there can be circumstances but if she is so concerned she’ll just watch her kid herself. She didn’t learn the lesson with the first robot and bought a new one. I mean if a loyal 10 year old robot could go mad why not a brand new one. Overall it’s just that she made some dumb choices but I guess that’s just typical “horror movies”
