For the past 60 years we prepare idly ,dosay ,puttu,iddiapom ponggal n etc prepared all with only normal rice n black ulunthu ,no white ulunthu at that time,,I have never used any other rice,parboiled rice are used sometimes, what is so difficult seen many video's complaints idly doesn't come out soft, I use attukal n my summit grinder more 35 years old bought in Delhi when I went for my pilgrimage to Mt,Abu,still today I use it have all spare parts. I m now 75 .from 1960,s I followed all cooking what my mother taught us.we also cook the same for our ashram .Always remember God when you prepare foods it will turn out good,n strength::thank Shiva: for that❤ Malaysia,

I have tried. It came out well. Eventhough I washed many more times ration rice, that ration rice smell came out little bit.
So,it is better to combine ration rice with idly rice normal. Thanks for your useful video.
