Hi Pete. Thank you for your content in 2024, I enjoy watching your uploads. I held a Czapek in my hand a couple of weeks ago & I have to agree, the finishing of the watch is outstanding & the dial is incredibly beautiful. Unfortunately the cost rules it out for me but that doesn't prevent me from being a huge fan.
Hi Pete, I really enjoyed this video today, thanks for sharing your selections. I was unaware of most of them and so now I am keen to explore these watches and their makers in greater detail. Your channel is one of my favourites and undersubscibed in my opinion. Take care
Hi Pete, greetings from Marburg in Germany. Thanks for your smart brain work in 2024 regarding our nerdy hobby. Keep on in 2025! Alex Edit: Did you notice the Dornblüth Chrono from this year? ;-) Should have made it to your list.
Pete, since you asked my list would only include the watches I purchased. I can’t bring myself to care about uber expensive watches I’ll never buy even if my wife said, “treat yourself.” After purchasing no watches in 23, I purchased two in 24. I’ve largely moved away from the big, common brands. After last purchasing a micro independent, my two were purchases were both dressy-adjecent, symmetrical, and had unique dials that were the star. The two were the Straum Glacier Rift and the Makina Mephisto 3.
Hello Pete, Great to see you back doing your great content recently. I agree with you on the Czapek Promanade range. I saw them at Watches & Wonders and the Goutte D’eau (pebble in water) version is my favourite. The movement is the same as the one used in the Antarctique. The AP Remastered 02 I also agree is a great Watch. It divided opinions upon release but, I love it. The Anoma is an interesting pick. It is quite original and arty as you pointed out. Would I wear it? I don’t know? The B1 is great! I love the revival of stone dials that Baltic and Dennison have also been doing too. I’m not too fussed with Speedmasters or the Polaris range by JLC so would pass on those. Some of my favourites were the Chopard Quattro Spirit 25 (black dial), the Bernhard Lederer 3 Times Certified Observatory Chronometer, the NOMOS 175th Anniversary Tangente Date 38 in 31 different colour ways, the Ferdinand Berthoud FB RES that could be configured with a different case an different dials and some of your picks (AP Remastered 02 and Czapek Promenade). Great video as always Pete. Have a great Christmas 🎄 and an even better 2025!
As always, bit leftfield and... not so obvious! Cheers Pete, happy holidays mate. PS That Polaris is going to be in your collection, sooner or later, i guess. So you!
Love how thin JLC was able to make the Polaris Geographic, especially in relation to the rather chunky date version. But the inner bezel no longer rotates, which is essential day-to-day functionality lost. For that reason, it does not make my best list for 2024.
That Czaek movement has almost a steampunk vibe to it. Really cool
That Anoma is clearly made by a Hamilton Ventura fan who drives an RX-7.
Wankel! 😜

Actually the Anoma reminds me of the Hamilton Ventura, but looks better IMHO. Perfect size for me.
