The bit at the end about free resources for startups businesses: Where! What! How! I'd love a video about that, as well as just starting a business in Denmark - could also cover topics about being a digital entreprenuer based in Denmark
Don't forget the library (bibliotek) in every municipality. Of course they don't give away the things there but you can borrow so many things. They do not only have books, they also have video games, CDs, LP vinyls, audio books, ebooks, etc. It varies in every municipality I guess. Sometimes they have something special, I know one where they have musical instruments like edrums, guitar, keys and you can play there (with headphones). I am a music lover and I have just started this turntable hobby. I am very grateful that I do not even have to buy an LP to listen to lots of good music with my turntable (not yet anyway! 🤣).
You can also go to a private hospital for free... if the public hospital can not provide the treatment within a fair time limit, then you can go to a private hospital and get the treatment. Paid through taxes. The private hospitals are not just for people with extra insurance through their job. So you can get much more than you mention in the video.
The average employer paid pension is 12% of your salary where 2/3 is payed by the company and you pay 1/3. Some companies pay it all and sometimes more, so consider that as free pension in those situations. Cheers from Copenhagen ✌️🇩🇰
Hey Mario! I recently discovered your channel and I gotta tell you I'm really enjoying your content. Can you please make a video explaining the pension/retirement system in dk? Do expats have a right to retire in the public system? Are there different private pensions to chose? Thanks in advance, cheers!
Public pensions are evaluated the same for every person with the right to live here, so long as you have lived at least 10 years in Denmark. When ever you retire they count the years, since you 15th birthday, that you have lived in Denmark. And they then express the time lived here in x/40th of a full pension Example: A friend has live in denmark for about 14 years, after their 15th birthday, and got a medical early retirement pension at age 51. So they get a 14/40th of a full public early retirement pension. And are supposed to request public pensions from the countries they have lived in, for the non-danish years. Adjusted rules will however apply if you retire after 2025. --- There are several options for appending/adding a private insurance or private pension plan to work in parallel with the public pension options. And most of those private options are tax deductible while you pay into the private plans. Where I worked, there were a separate private insurance/pension plan as a part of the job contract. So by now, about 50% of my own early retirement solution comes from that private/job-contract insurance. And my public pension is somewhat lowered depending on the sum I get from the job-contract pension. So there are good pension options in Denmark.
Foreninger is big in Denmark. If you make a forening (I don't know the english word for it) the kommune has to offer you room for your forening. For free. If you make a svømmeforening, your kommune will have to give you free time in a svømmehal.
If I understood well, when you are à working and single person. It is not that interesting to live in Danemark financially speaking. I am currently living in France, paying the same level of taxes, but in return the health care reimbourse nearby 90% of the charges, education is cheap, housing is less expensive, salaries are the same, and often better.... (I compared the salaries in banks between Danemark and France). So I m planing to move there, but definitely not for financial reasons :)
Yep, fair point. Denmark also has the plus that work hours are shorter and that you can bike around. But again can also be different from person to person.
True fact, I wanted to travel the world, and hard to do it from a place that's kind of 8-10 hours flight from basically everywhere 😀 If it weren't for that I wouldn't have left back then I guess.
That wrong that you Can pay more than 50% in taxes. You must earn about 1.5 mio to pay 50% in taxes. Yearly salary, resulting tax 1.000.000 45% 800.000 43% 600.000 38% 400.000 35% 300.000 33% 200.000 31% 100.000 22% 50.000 8%

Free spaces/offices? That’s pretty awesome! 🇩🇰
It did help big time for me in the past :)
Most cities do similar things. I am an Aussie and I offer free office in America (I make money from raising capital)
What would you recommend for learning danish?
I wrote a super long article about just that: medium.com/p/6fdbc313aeb0
