He stays in great shape given his physical problems but his physque is no where neqr what it was but he isn't to proud to be out in public and interact with everyone. I think it would be really tough to go from the physical specimen and being known for your body and strengrh to suffering with the health problems he does. He handles it all very well and brightens everyones day at the same time. Inspiring.

      Love Ronnie but he ain’t telling the entire truth , the DEA came in because of the scandal with Barry Bonds and a Texas high school athlete died , they confiscated all his anabolics, the police dept forced him to resign in 2001 the year all of this went down , the “legal” prescription was completely bs , there was a massive investigation, things calmed down and everyone went back to being massive again hence 2003 , the year he was at his peak, Ronnie used to say he was drug free until 1998, now it’s 1995, either way , doesn’t matter , top 15 in the world up until 1995 is legendary

No one has come close since him, and yes, Chad Nicholls had a lot to do with his fine tuning for sure. Dorian might have "opened the door", but Ronnie stepped in and shut it, and NO ONE, NOT ONE PERSON since, was what he was. What other top level body builder, TWO WEEKS before the Olympia, could deadlift eight hundred pounds for reps, barbell squat seven hundred and dumbbell press on the incline with TWO HUNDRED pound dumbbells? NO ONE. I love this dude. Love this guy for the MAN he is, both in and OUT of bodybuilding.

    It’s important to understand that steroids are not illegal or a banned substance in bodybuilding. EVERYONE in pro bodybuilding takes steroids.
    It then comes down to who works the hardest in the gym, the extreme diet and cardio. Don’t ever let steroids make you think these guys didn’t work hard, if you’ve ever competed or even done a diet yourself.
    You’ll know it takes serious dedication and commitment.

      Genetics also play a role too. If you have bad genetics for bodybuilding, steroids will allow you achieve a better physique than what you can accomplish naturally but not to be a competitive bodybuilder.

      By far I’m not a body builder, but I follow it pretty well. There’s competitions for the ones that don’t do roids and than it’s all the other major ones that allow it!!! Am I wrong? Honest question?

    • @JoshJFit
      @JoshJFit 4 месяца назад

      @@smooth3537 correct. There are natural federations but they will never get the notoriety or fanfare that the IFBB gets. The reality people wanna see the most impressive physiques and no matter who you are that’s not something that can be achieved naturally but that doesn’t discredit the amount of work you have to put in. I’d argue it’s even harder being an enhanced athlete because there’s a lot more things you have to monitor health wise while being on cycle.

    It should be duly noted that there are stories from guys extremely close to Ronnie both pro bodybuilders and friends that say genetically, they’ve never seen someone respond to steroids like him. He could start them, stop them, have no real side effects, and literally just function normal both on and off the juice. It’s also noted that people close to him were shocked how big he was and how little he actually knew about steroids so it’s reasonable to believe him when he talks about the things he’s doing.

      Around 1980, I ran into Tony Pearson he said the trick to steroids is low dosages, 8 weeks on, 8 weeks off, back then I took methandrestenelone (real Dianabol) Anavar, and Test Cypionate and it was the greatest feeling in the world, supreme confidence and handling weights I could never handle naturally...but the 8 weeks off I didn't experience massive decrease in strength.

    Hearing somebody like Ronnie, who we all respect and admire, saying I was tired of getting my butt kicked is so ironic. But his honesty about a side of the sport that most of us don't think about, the eating, is eye opening. And I say eating, not diet, on purpose. The sheer volume of protein is way beyond what most of us could handle. A pound of protein, 6 times a day! I mean, I like steak but I couldn't eat it 6 times a day everyday.
