    Raag Bihag rendered by ace musicians Vidushi Kala Ramnath & Pt. Rupak Kulkarni with excellent support by Ustad Akram Khan on Tabla.
    The two instrumentalists blended so well, along with their respective wares.
    Too good to watch this piece of musical ecstasy.
    Thanks Vilas Sapre Ji for uploading this.
    (Wished, some occasional background noises were not there....)

    It would be useful if the uploader mentions the name of raag and the names of tanpura and table player for not so enlightenment souls like me.

      Whether enlightenment or not, it is grossly unfair not to mention the names of all the artist who are integral part of a concert. Anyway, it is wonderful to experience this masterpiece.

    I want to know what the difference is between carnatic violin music and hindustani violin music?

    • @concorde12345678
      @concorde12345678 9 лет назад +1

      I recommend listening to Dr. L.Subramaniam for a carnatic perspective of Indian classical music.

    • @dt6692
      @dt6692 9 лет назад

      Hindustani and Carnatic are two different systems of music (though there are obviously similarities, they are related). So when Kala Ramnath plays Hindustani music on the violin, she is essentially playing the same ragas, same "language" as Hindustani vocalists, sitarists, sarodists, etc. But obviously with nuances and technique specific to violin.
      A Carnatic violinist is using teh same instrument, but playing the same musical 'language' as Carnatic musicians, whether they be vocalists, or other instrumentalists.

      The essential difference is the sliding between one swara (Seven scales) to other is slower in Hindustani music. This is called gamaga in technical parlance as taught by one teacher in a demo. The way they are applied are slightly different. There are more schools in Hindustani Music with various styles of delivering more than that is evident in Carnatic Music. As they gain phase and speed the effect of one Raga (that creates the mood ) remains same... can we say essentially one language spoken in two styles yet the beauty of the language is intact in their own style 😍
