I would use the ultra sonic cleaning as a last resort my self. The filter that was cleaned for me did not get the water cleaned out of the catalyst, filter went from 53lbs to 100+ for install, shop air did not blow enough water out. During the regen process the machine was an old steam locomotive water and soot from the stack and exhaust joints, messy. I would recommend that you get the DPF cleaned by the heating process. Some CAT dealers do it, or go with the reman filter. I also had Cummins clean the filter too, with good success. One more thing don't forget to get new band clamps for the filter assembly usually the graphite gasket material breaks on disassembly.
Those large zip ties are actually Deltec cable ties normally used for comms cables, you can get the straps in rolls and the locking head clips by the bag of25.
You talk about hoses from the factory, I was helping out a friend back in the late 1990s and just looked at the back of the engine bay on his JD 4 wheel drive tractor and saw that he had hoses rubbing on each other . He had a bit over 2000 hrs on the machine so we used some zip ties to stop them from rubbing and needing replacement in time . I mentioned this to another friend who had two machines of similar age and they two where rubbing . All with the same problem and he said to almost looked like it was designed to do that . There was a time when manufacturers would test equipment for thousands of hours and find such problems, those days are long gone because now just because it’s a new machine you need to look for loose bolts , oil leaks, oil lines not rubbing an so on . When a dealer says it’s field ready you know you need to keep a close eye on everything as you break the machine in . That is disheartening when you can’t trust a company you payed hundreds of thousands of dollars to . For as long and big as some companies are they have no pride in treating customers and equipment like they used too .
Best way to clean out a DPF is to take it out and blow backwards through it with some compressed air. That should clear most of the loose ash out of it I highly recommend wearing a respirator if you do that, it creates quite the dust storm! Alternatively, Ive also heard you can flush them out with water, run a hose on the inlet for a bit then through the outlet, repeat that a few times and get as much of the water out of it as you can. Then run a regen to burn off the rest of the water

You might check with you CAT dealer. I know several CAT dealers around the country are now Diesel Force dealers, and CAT corporate has been endorsing it for use by their dealers. Or, tell Bruce to load up his equipment and come clean it for you. He probably needs a trip anyway!
The engineers at caterpillar suggested to add weight to the center mass first and if that didn't do it then add some to the counterweight, I think their concern was possibly tipping over backwards on a slope if you were digging upslope and raised the boom and stick up to maximum
