@@marvinschannel5391 He hated the process of filming it with motion capture. He had to wear this uncomfortable suit and he also didn't really know how much of his expressions were being captured on camera and so he didn't really know how to act.
The moment I saw this bit play in the credits I was so happy even after listening to pure imagination. This was probably needed in the other Wonka movies

I originally didn't like the Oompa Loompa song, so when Hugh started singing, I cringed and crumpled the popcorn bag, expecting to hate it. But I found myself smiling, nodding along, and laughing. I can't believe a prequel made me like the song - heck I like it better than the orginal!
Why is everybody so convinced he genuinely hated playing the role? He is the most dried humour sarcastic person on the planet. Even the director said he casted Hugh because of his dry wit. He says he hates everything in interviews. Its his dry humour.
I think people are overthinking what he said. He said he hated wearing whatever apparatus he had to wear on his head, for the motion capture filming process and that he wasn’t always sure what he was supposed to do and how to act. People are just taking that out of proportion. I think if he hated it, he wouldn’t have done such a good job. He nailed this role.
I’m usually pretty quick to get out of my seat when a film ends because I usually watch 2 back to back and I’ve never felt more called out standing up before everyone else and a fucking oompa loomp coming up telling me to get back in my place

The movie was great but I read the original story and saw the the original movie of 1971 and it has some discrepancies but other then that I love the movie
