    Hi! I'm an incoming 18-year-old freshman at the University of the Philippines. I normally don't leave comments but I want you to know that I've been binge-watching almost all of your videos while seriously taking notes. I just want to say that I'm very thankful for encountering someone as wise as you and needless to say, I look up to you! I've been wanting to study abroad as well but I'm very worried due to financial constraints. Seeing how you managed to save up for your master's in London inspired me to work even harder. Thank you so so much for imparting your journey here on the internet. I will definitely come back here in 2-3 years or so to leave an update! Wishing you all the best in your career, KChoi! :)

    Not studying abroad was one of my biggest regrets, I just never knew it was an option tbh. All of my friends went so I visited them on spring break and had one of the best experiences ever. I would give a lot to be abroad without the weight of a job/career in the back of my mind. Anyways, great video, thanks!

    It's been over three years since I graduated from college and over two years since grad school.. completely agreed with everything you said, especially the go to the office hours point! Sometimes I feel a little bit regret that I didn't make the full use of my time and resources during college and grad schools, just because I was shy or lazy at that time. But I guess that's ok, it gave me a kind of life lesson in another way.... Now I am fully aware of how important to be active, be open and be brave. Like your video as always! Can't help but notice the lamp behind you hahaha I have exacly the same one.

    Hey! Kristina, how is it going? How is Self-Quarantine Life going on? I like your videos post, presentation and contents. You've have an amazing voice. Keep it going. Thanks for taking us through your early years of Post-Grad Life experience. Yeah, like most of us are puzzled about What is life? Who am I? Why am I here? What is the purpose of Life? Yes, I have studied abroad at least in few countries. My experience was really great and expanding my frontiers and horizons knowing new people and different cultures. It sets you apart in this gambit of human race, and the bubble we're are living to know that the world is big enough, even though our cultures & religions and perspectives varies. These all are the things that makes us proud and where we came from. I feel the same toward this day as I have tried different fields. I am still exploring my career dreams. Its like never settle for less and I remember Steve Jobs saying in relate to finding a right careers, 'If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. ... Don't settle for the second best. It pumps me up you know! I agree, for some it will take their whole life to figure it out; and for some they will get to know at early age and some will never know rest of their life. In the end they gave up living life they dream of and this has nothing to do with monetary success but it has to do more with happiness and fulfillment. So, I think things will never be the same, because everyone is different and unique in their own ways. The best is to keep exploring the new opportunities and never get afraid to trying new things until you know this is for you. If it doesn't, then I guess its okay, not finding who you are are, life pathways or this thing called superpower but trying our best to become humble, kind and good human beings. It is the highest expression of life and true-self. Stay Well & Connected! Cheers

    I absolutely agree with the idea that we need to study abroad if we can. One of the regrets I have about being in my twenties is that I didn't study abroad as an exchange student like you did! Now I am in the middle of 30's, have 2 kids, and very eager to learn English as South Korean, living in other countries has been my dream. Anyways, I am a true fan of you!!!Don't forget to know that an English learner can be your sincere subscriber.:)(I can understand what you are saying 100% for sure, but still language learning is a lifelong learning.) If you have time, I really want to know how it is like being in middle and high school as Korean-American because I am very curious about immigrant's life😊

    • @bykchoi

      I have a video about my experience as an Asian American which should answer some of your questions! I was born in the States and have never lived in Korea, but I still did struggle with my two identities of being both Korean and American.

    Hi there, I got into Stanford and Cambridge, would you suggest that doing a bachelors degree in the uk and then pursuing masters at Stanford or somewhere else in the Us would be better for having more career opportunities internationally? Thanks in advance!

    • @bykchoi
      @bykchoi  4 года назад +1

      That’s really hard to say!! I guess it depends on what you are studying and what career you’re looking to get into. (Like does your career path require a master’s degree in the first place?). There are a lot of factors!

      @@bykchoi thanks a lot! I would love to work in consulting for a few years and then start something of my own, hence the masters at Stanford or elsewhere. I was thinking that cambridge would be great for developing critical thinking and problem solving qualities needed in consulting and then head over to the US which is far more entrepreneurial both in terms of academia and the encroachment. I got into land economy at Cambridge which is a combo of econ, environmental science and law. Just checking whether declining Stanford right now would be of a disadvantage if I would like to work in the States? What's the overall stigma around Oxford and Cambridge graduates in the US? It's not an easy choice since both unis are so great!

    • @bykchoi
      @bykchoi  4 года назад +1

      I don't think there's really a stigma around Oxbridge in the States. But some people might accidentally think you went to Harvard (because Harvard graduates are known for saying they went to school "in Cambridge (Massachusets)" 😂 Maybe it comes down to student life and culture for you because both options have a lot of prestige and recognition. Stanford was personally my first choice when I was applying to colleges, but I'm from CA and didn't apply to any schools outside the US! Definitely not going to be an easy decision, but good luck!!
