Nice reaction. Babymetal brings us a song of hope to get us through tragedy. Love the pacing of this song. and those opening drum patterns. Babymetal have blended many genres of music and many styles of dance. Now they're blending Myth and reality. And making it all work yet again. Babymetal magic.

I'm Japanese . Thanks for your nice reaction . By the way , a lot of people say that BABYMETAL' songs have like an animation song . To put it the other way around , a lot of animation songs in Japan are influenced by a metal song . The reason why it said that the animation songs were made by the people who were involved the relation to a metal song because they lost their works in a metal song a lot . (A metal song went out fastion in Japan from 1990's・・・until the debut of BABYMETAL 😀 )
As you pointed out Mr Rock N Roll, Su-metal is really coming into her own vocally. This song has such beautiful lyrics and she delivers with a very mature performance with the band doing enough to still drive the song forward while supporting her in the best way possible. Both singles from this new album are fantastic and I'm loving this new direction so far. I can't wait for the album to drop. Totally agree with you on the anime vibe, could 100% see it used in an intro or outro for an isekai.
I am not the biggest BabyMetal Fan in the World but without them i would ve NEVER discovered Band Maid and Nemophila and i am Forever Thankful for that. But Damn Su has a Angel Like Voice

Excellent Reaction, here we have a start with a double pedal drums at the top and powerful guitars and then focus on something more melodic and nuance between these variables during the song, the two songs presented are interesting, surely they can release another single in a combination in the future danceable metal that Babymetal always plays on their albums.
When i first listened to this, I was a a bit Meh! Too Radio friendly. The more I listen and understand the lyrics, the more I have fallen in love with this track! The new album is supposed to visit 10 metalverses, one for each track. For me, the Monochrome Firework, is the bomb that devastated Su's home of Hiroshima! The tree, in the video symbolises, "Yggdrasil, in Norse cosmology, is an immense and central sacred tree. Around it exists all else, including the Nine Worlds." The lyric video also mentions Ragnarok "In Norse mythology, Ragnarök is a series of events, including a great battle, foretelling the death of numerous great figures , natural disasters, and the submersion of the world in water. After these events, the world will rise again, cleansed and fertile, the surviving and returning gods will meet and the world will be repopulated by two human survivors." I think that fits with the final imagery, of the the video, where we go from the Black Rain, of a nuclear explosion, to the colourful hope of the future.
I only found out about Babymetal a week ago and I went into a deep dive of their previous stuff to find out more. It was weird, confusing, and yet it worked. It was such a Japanese type of thing to do, cute girls leading a very metal band. Come to find out there's a new album coming out so I was thinking of how lucky I was to come across them. The new Babymetal is a progression of sorts to show that they've grown up and they're taking a new direction, which I can totally understand. They're not kids anymore. The 2 new songs so far are catchy and something I would listen to again, but it's not Babymetal. I was hoping for them to keep their quirky mix of "WTF" mixed with some killer metal but it's not that. It's like Metallica going from Master of Puppets to the Black Album. They're going for a sound that will appeal to an even broader audience. It's like he said in the reaction video, it's the intro to an anime like Chainsaw Man or Tokyo Ghoul and those kind of songs make bank. I was hoping for more avant-garde stuff like they did before, raw, breaking the mold, keeping listeners on their toes. This is going to piss a lot of people off but the songs have a more heavily produced generic vibe. Granted it's still early, so all the stuff I said should be taken as just a first impression. Again the songs aren't bad by any stretch and I appreciate the work they put into showing off their vocals because they've definitely improved.

To me, this song is about Hiroshima and Nagasaki. At 1.04 is a mushroom cloud and at 3.04 a falling object destroys a city.
