It's always extra wholesome whenever Kyuho cooks for Sarah's family in Canada... He does such a good job too! (And the kitties!! They are just too cute, both Rosie and Pippi 😺😺🥺🥺💙💙)
"Any vehicle upon which I can eat this red pepper sauce is fine." - Kevin. I really hope Kevin visits Korea one day. I think he would enjoy a food tour of Korea.
I’m excited for more series like this!! I also live in Canada and it’s nice to see the ingredients that you buy so Canadian subscribers can make using the same ingredients!!
Ya'll are simply adorable and the food was cooked with loving care Kyuho. You make us feel as close to being there with you while you chill with family, as any channel I have discovered. Wonderful on your walk too Sarah, the cat's noises and blessings that she comes for a hello are so cute. Well being all!
Kyuho indeed cooks so well. The look of his food dishes tells how amazing it would taste though. He is really a chef. Sarah is well capturing his talents.
That small bag with the bay leaves and peppercorn is usually called a sachet. Similar to the floral sachets that people put in their drawers to make them smell better.
That was wonderful! To have such an excellent cook handy is SO great!!!!🙀🙀🙀. Boooo hoooo, Korean Cuisine looks sooooo goood!!! What a loving gesture on Kyuho’s part! How very fortunate to have him such a dear young man in the family. How could your family not love him and his talents in the kitchen!
I can really appreciate how long this took Kyuho. I've tried to make just the green onion salad before and it's surprisingly time consuming thinly slicing all those green onions! And that is just the side dish lol.
@8:30 - Well, the bay leafs would normally be tied up with the other whole herbs you don't want staying in the finished product (a "bouquet garni"), but I'd've probably just put them and the peppercorns in a makeshift cheesecloth bag...
I've only ever had Galbijim that I've made. I need to go try it at a restaurant in Korean town Osaka or when I go to Korea so I can see what the real thing tastes like. Either way, superrrrr delicious!
he could have used cheese cloth to make the bag verison just with butcher twine but there is the lil bags he is talking about possibly at bulk barn to use like a tea bag
The meal looked delicious. 😍 Kyuho, you need to create a cookbook. Our family gathered all our favorite recipes from my grandmother on down to cousins. We wanted to do it before anyone passed away and the recipes were gone forever. We had our book published through an online company and it has tons of family photos and lots of our best recipes. It’s the one thing I’d grab if there was ever a fire. Seriously, our whole family has a copy and everyone treasures it. But you could sell it to us, too. Hint, hint. 😁
@@2hearts1seoul Yeah, it’s a really nicely made book, too, a hardback. It’s easy to self-publish. It was kind of expensive, $50 a book for us but it was a nice size. The book means even more to us since both my grandmother and my mom are gone.
Nova Scotia looks lovely. We were in and around Halifax some years back. Thanks for the Galbijjim recipe. Looks yummy. I hope I can try it soon. In the Philippines, we have something similar called adobo - but without the veggies.
Aww Rosie is so cute! She reminds me of my tuxedo cat Astro, he will be dead asleep and as soon as I have the chopping board out and start cutting up meat he is at my feet making the same noises as Rosie
I just made the galbijjim and it was SO delicious!! Thank you for the recipe! I would like to know how long you boil everything for? I kind of just guessed until the potatoes were soft.
Thanks for sharing.Food looks really good.Hope someday to try these foods. Loved seeing your family with Rosie the cat.Cute to see your neighbor cat penelope, also.
Looks like you can add “iron chef” Lee on top of Dancing Lee! Great job! On a side note, when soaking red meat in water, it isn’t really removing blood, there is no blood, it is actually something called myoglobin, it may look reddish and that has to do with iron similar to blood but it is not considered blood. Those of you that may not be familiar with the reasoning for soaking it in water is to help reduce the gamey taste by removing myoglobin which happens to have iron that gives it that gamey taste.
a good sub for a mini strainer (re: bay leaves and peppercorns) is putting them in a piece of cheese cloth or a loose leaf tea bag. As a Korean I give good scissors as a gift all the time! 🤣
Look delicious! Galbijim is my favorite! I've made it before but anxious to try Kyuho's mom's recipe. :-) BTW, I found the spice bags (to put spices in for cooking) that Kyuho mentioned at Daiso in Korea.
@@2hearts1seoul I believe Loblaws sell them... At least those in Toronto. Btw... It's great to learn that you could get most of the ingredients at Loblaws/Superstore. I regularly shop both at Loblaws and H-Mart in Toronto just to get the right meat cut. 🤗
I have got to stop watching your videos when I'm hungry!!! kyuho, do you know if there is a replacement for sugar in this recipe that could be safe for diabetics?
I wish you and the family happiness and great memories made together in Canada. Hope you get to 200K subscribers soon - you're worth them and more. Stay well and positive. Hello from London : - )
I have IBS and I can't eat onion >< I looove Korean food but I always make it without onion and garlic (I substitute with green parts of spring onion). It's probably very weird Korean food but it's the only way I can have it. But I think this dish will not turn out great without garlic and onion?
🇺🇸 it's been awhile! Always love to see the in laws reaction. Hope it's honest. Your dad.. he just talks to much 🤣🤣. Can't wait for them to visit Seoul. No Soju...wth
Hi guys, Kyuho your recipe or should I say your Mother's looks so yummy. I'm going to make the Galbujim tonight. I even bought soju, but I forgot to get the peppercorn. Good thing I have a Korean store close to me, where they already have the garlic cloves all peeled already. hehe.
You're not just getting rid of the blood of the meat when washing it but also of the carbon monoxide which nowadays is used to treat dead meat to make it look 'fresh' :-S

Kuyho always cooks the most delicious looking food. I love Kevin & Kyuho’s relationship. They seem to really enjoy each other’s company.

Those are some precious family moments.. your times in Canada really put me at peace!
When I heard the meow ( roar ) , I thought it was Beemo for a second ! LOL !! Got so used to hearing him in Kyuho’s cooking videos! 😹😹😹😹
오랜만이다! Nice to see Kyuho's Canadian Kitchen again! ❤
It always so much more comfortable filming cooking videos here! Lots more space and actual natural lighting from windows 😅
i look forward to watching you guys’ vlogs, they’re so serene
How sweet to use your Mom's recipe. Having your FIL go for seconds is definitely a good sign!

You picked a great dish for them, Galbijim is so good especially during the winter.
Bay Leaves 🍃 I’ve never seen in this dish, will try that out. Yum!

We didn’t have, nor could find a cheesecloth bag 😅 We’re going to bring a proper mini mental strainer from Korea next time.
Please keep uploading videos like this, so heartwarming
Rosie and Penelope!! 💛 Your dad is so cute Sarah. Good job with the stew Kyuho, looks delicious, good tip to soak the meat, I will try.
Kevind should visit you guys in Seoul and you should totally film his food experience there!
OMG looks so amazing. Thanks for including the recipe! I am so going to make this.
Kyuho, is such a great cook, the Galbijjim looks soooo yummy! My mouth was watering.😋
This was such a wholesome video ❤
Im going to halifax NS to live with my husband this month and watching your video makes me more excited. Hope I can meet you guys!
Looks delicious! You can use cheese cloth and some kitchen twine to put the bay leaves and pepper corn in. It's easy to remove after!
Put the garlic in some water to make it super easy to peel. Just regular tap water.
“Heavens to Betsy” 🤣. It’s been a while since I’ve heard that

That looks insanely delicious!!
Next time you can empty out a teabag or two and staple or tie it shut for the peppercorns and bay leaves
A relaxing saturday morning in watching 2hearts1seoul 🥰
for the spices you could use empty tea bags as a sachet in a pinch! :D looks delicious kyuho!
We didn’t even have those 🥲 lol

One of my favorite dish and it will be good with spicy radish or kimchi lol! Take care and enjoy your trip!
Very nice video again. The recipe was very nice explained too. Thx for sharing your precious moments.

Thank you 😁🇨🇦
It must be a Chuseok special edition ~
Galbizim is my favorite Chuseok food ~ ^^
Kyuho’s family too! 😄 It’s our go-to Chuseok meal these last few years~
looks like fun... is there a reason you don't brown the meat first before adding it to the sauce, etc?
Looks absolutely delish!!! I think I might try and make it soon 🥰🥰🙌🏼🙌🏼 Also Your bro Kevin 🔥 🥰 dreamy ❤️🥰
I always put salt into the water whenever defrosting frozen meats. That will draw out those dirty stuff from the meats.
Ohhh, good idea! Have never heard of this~
2hearts1seoul is quite common in Asian cuisine specially Chinese and you can use a so-called small tea bag to put all the herbs in it.
Love watching your videos!!
Thank you! 😄
I'm not a fan of minced garlic. Most companies use vinegar as a preservative and destroys the garlic flavor for me.
My favorite Korean dish
Can't lie to you guys, Penelope is my favourite part of your Canada videos 😂🐈
She’s just so lovely 🥺
I need this!
2:18 ~ 2:34 & 14:54 ~ 15:26 I luv so much Losssssssssie & Piiiiiiii pi 😻😻😻😍😊

The way I would dunk a whole bread loaf in the leftover broth 😤😤😤🤌
oh my gosh Rosieeeeee And Penelopeee

Can you make it spicy, or Galbi typically isn't spicy?...
This isn’t a spicy dish-it’s more of a salty, sweet dish :)
Yum! And yes. Everyone needs food scissors!
They’re essential! ✂️
Good luck with your friends

How’s Beemo?
Good, but still having his tummy issues 😩
You two live a dream life.
Remember, we only show the parts we choose to ;) We have ups and downs like everyone else.
Why do you take out the bones? Normally you leave it in for max marrow flavor 🧐
Because it’s far more comfortable to eat! We still boil them for a while with the bones to get the flavor first-then cut the meat from the bones!
