Oh my.. 🙂👒such pretty hats and with wonderful history. I miss the time where all ladies wore a hat out and about and in church of course.. it takes real courage to wear a hat out when noone else does.
Thank you so much! I wear hats to church, and lunch or shopping afterwards, quite often. And people don't think it's strange to wear hats in winter. But I want to just wear them to the post office or grocery shopping, and people not think it's odd! I think we should band together to bring back hats and gloves 😉😂

Thank you, dear lady! I used to host a garden party every year for the moms in our homeschool group, but I have been out of that loop for a while. For one I put out all my hats and aprons and let them pick what to wear for pictures! This month would mark the 4 year anniversary of my book club, but I am unsure if any of the ladies (except for my family, which makes the largest part ;) could come. Perhaps if I spread the chairs far and wide though the garden. I'm ready to have parties again! Wish I could invite you, sugar. What fun it would be!

Hello, sugar, and I am sorry I did not see your message earlier! I do wear dresses every day, even at home on the farm. My boys have always been supportive of the fact that I love to look feminine, despite the fact that I split wood and help build fence. My hubby doesn't care for it. He dresses Western and would like nothing more than for me to be in roper jeans and boots ;). But I dress to make myself feel happy and he's fine with it. He just think it makes me look like an old lady- sigh. I don't feel out of place when I'm in public, because I've never dressed to fit it in, even in school. No one gave me trouble for it then either, it was simply my personality, not some sort of statement. I do tend to feel awkward at times if I am wearing a hat and heels in a place like Wal-mart. Unless it's Sunday, and then it feels okay- ha! I am 46, and I do feel that it's important to dress for my age to feel comfortable. Not that I want to look stodgy, I just have personally adjusted what feels best to ME at each age. And I don't want to try to look like a teenager. I want to look lovely the way I am now. I would suggest finding some things that you love and that feel like your personality, and just wearing them out to get groceries. That is a real-life situation, and will help you to know what feels natural or overdone to you. And I will say that at home, in the winter, we heat with wood only. So the challenge to stay warm is real! I wear long dresses or skirts, sweaters, wool tights, and sometimes even long underwear! And for really challenging outdoor work, like splitting wood, I have a pair of men's denim farm overalls. Still vintage looking, but ever so practical! I'm sorry for rambling on, but I hope I answered a bit of what you were asking. If not, just ask some more! Hope you have a lovely day, sweetie-

Hello, sugar! Yes I do, but unfortunately not as often since covid. It’s terrible how quickly we get out of the habit of doing things when we can’t for a while. Most of the time when I wear them out it’s to church, because there are very few other places I go, except to take care of my 97 year old grandpa. But I have started wearing them out again with a friend of mine for our “play dates”. And we’ve actually started dressing up to go see movies, which is such fun! We started this when we went to see Mrs Harris Goes to Paris and we’re continuing it☺️ Do you enjoy wearing hats?
