🔍 How to Find the BEST Samples For Your Beats! // My Process to Mastering the Hunt

- Sampling is a big part of the foundations of beat making. In this video I am going through my process to find the best samples possible. I started collecting records before venturing into making beats, so vinyl sampling is very important and meaningful to me. Everything starts with the records; it is a great way to connect with your samples, and to find chops you may never have seen otherwise.
For this beat, I used the MPC One as the standalone tool to flip the samples, including drums and melodies.
I hope you enjoy this workflow, and the sample based beat, and I hope the video provides some inspiration for your own production. I will be in the comments, so let me know what you want to see in a future video!

Yeah wow! You killed that one man. 🔥🔥
I've had this record for years and would have never thought it could be flipped like this. Very inspiring!!
I love how your videos are straight to the point, no fussing around. Beat was also 🔥🔥 Keep it up my dude.
Where the hell have you been 😂
This video is everything i need...because i am literally the opposite of what you are saying...i need to change...i have like 5 crates of records packed..tons...but I will try and find a sample as I'm trying to make a beat...i need to go thru my records and just spend time finding samples...because I'm coming to the idea that it is mad frustrating trying to make a beat and at the same timefind a sample etc for what I'm doing...
Fucken crazy 🔥🔥🔥… love this joint‼️ 🫡✌🏽
Man, this was super helpful! I totally fall into the trap of sitting down to make a beat and beginning by sifting through records to find a sample, only to get frustrated and give up. I'm totally going to try this method. And dude, this beat is a heater!! Love your channel 💥
I needed this video thanks homie 🫶🏾🫡

Beat is crazy good
1st time checking you out. That beat is crazy! I Ave a similar process with my sounds.
Oh woooow bro you are nasty with the samples. Great vid!!! Taught me a few things
W video idea
Yoo I used to do this as a teenager (I use a discord server or my Discogs wantlist now to spare my vinyl sleeves), but I'd write notes about cuts on the paper vinyl sleeve with a pencil while listening. Still have a few jazz records with long lists inside noting every sax lick that could be used for beatmaking.
This is crazy dope! I'd like to see a video on how you layer your drum loops with the one shot drum sounds.
DOPE
Notes app all day 💪 also wtf this beat is insaine 🥶
Nice beat
That Billy Paul is a Beast!!!!...I buy it every time I see it the $1-$2 bin, think I'm at 3-4 copies...lol...Dope chops!

RMB, an ally. 👊🏼☮️🐶🐾
Is the snare part of a drum loop, love the snare
Your videos are super dope. What do you use to record your audio when making your videos
Peace
Nice vid, do you often come across records that you find absolutely nothing to sample on them?
The Chef Raekwon - only built for Cuban link part 2 - 10 bricks - produced by J Dilla
Did you use a pre made drum loop and if so where was that from?
I caught myself yesterday moving my thumbs like you do 🤣 I missed 1 thing , when you buy records are there things you look for ? Cover , label ? Cuz i recently started buying them but most are not good to sample from
He buys them in bulk from various places with no guarantee any will have samples He can use.
Hahaha that's awesome 🤣 I can definitely do a future video on this!
Do you release these beats as well? I ask because I go on track Lib since the samples can be cleared. Is it a preference thing?
Okay that beat is absolutely stupid. Well done, brother!
1. Get the vinyls.
2. Listen and make note of interesting sections. Speed up/down or Pitch up/down.
3. Chop samples up.
4. Make beat.
Id record the entire record and then use a DAW sampler to do everything. I dont have the space for Vinyl and plenty of samples to find from CD.
This systematic approach sucks all the joy and spontaneity out of sampling and degrades it to an industrial process. Helpful if you want to become a professional but let's be honest here: 99,5% of us will never go there. It is a nice example though that you used for this video.
what makes someone a professional vs not? I think everyone would want to be making some success out of there beats otherwise whats the point if your the only one listening to it? As for his process, its more complicated then I would do it as I would just record the entire Vinyl records one ofter the other then search for samples onces there on My computer and DAW.
Its 2024 are we still calling music "beats"?
Love how this turned out man- thanks for sharing the process as well!
