You are a wonderful teacher! I love the way you break everything down into understandable pieces and how you apply the different strums to songs that are fun to play and sing!
An easy “folksy” variation on the basic strum is to release the chord fingering and play all open strings on the up strum. Be on your next chord in time for the first of the two down strums. You can also “push” the occasional chord for musical emphasis by quickly changing to the next chord for that final up strum. Then you get the next two down strums with this chord. Your choice what happens on the ending up strum of the pattern. 😊
I love all these different styles and how they add to the character of each song. BTW Come Sail Away is by Styx. Rod Stewart did a different song called Sailing.
Love your Videos 🥰 they help me so much to learn ukulele. (Only can play 2 songs at the moment but it will be more in the future) Thank you so much. Please make more content 🥰 you are fantastic

Song Suggestion for tutorial: "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B" I just learned (self-taught) to play this on my concert ukulele. I love playing & singing it. Always loved listening to the song. I play it with quick down strums. I think that is eighth notes. I don't know music theory. I would appreciate learning to play it better. Is there a good, easy intro to play. Is there a better strum?
I would do the swing version of the 2 beat strum for Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. Then on the last word of each phrase - like "Sam" I would play the Island Strum to fill out the accompaniment.

Wonderful tutorial! Arg, I still struggle with the pick and flick strum! 🎶
You can do it! Mehrdad holds his hand differently than I do. I should have him show you.
