Disclaimer - This method may not work for everyone. You need to know your dog and know what methods work best for your dog. We embrace a positive reinforcement training method. We use treats because Brandi is a food-driven dog. Brandi prefers riding the skateboard a certain way, another dog might prefer do ride another way. Embrace your dog's natural instincts when it comes to learning something new. And remember, there's nothing natural about a dog riding a skateboard so keep that in mind!

Get a penny board!!! :D My cat was able to somewhat skateboard on a normal sized board, but your maltese is probably much lighter. It may be hard to practice on grass with a lighter dog, maybe try carpet!!!
