My puppy just hopped on the skate board and some how made it across the garage riding it
I got a Rottweiler puppy about a week ago and he's only like 9 weeks old. Well about 2 days ago he just hopped on my skateboard on my porch and rode all the way across somehow. Hahaha
🛹 Skater tip: Make sure the trucks are tight so the skateboard is stable. Maybe loosen over time once they get the basic idea 💡

My Doberman can do this. Took a while. You can also attach a thin leash at the truck if the board to help control it and so it doesn't go flying.
Good stuff. I really like all the positive reinforcement at each incremental step closer to the actual "event" of riding a skateboard. I have a similar video coming out soon on how to give a bath, and we use the same logic. Incremental steps, rewards, fun, etc. In the end, the dog gets into the bathtub himself. It's so much fun to see their confidence build. Thanks for sharing this great video on using positive rewards, which just happens to be about skateboarding, but could be about anything.

Hi Zak, just a thought, but maybe do a mini-series of confidence building activities. I know one of my main goals is taking my fearful (and reactivate) rescue dog and helping him gain confidence with people, places, things, and sounds.
I’m gonna try to teach this. My dog is a relatively fast learner so I think she might be able to do it ☺️😁

Keep a dog treat in your hand. While your dog is sitting down, move your hand all the way down to the floor. Your dog will lay down to try to get the treat.
@@MrRedforman1 also keep it close to your dog's face and close to its legs as you move the treat down
ang 434 , yep. Zack George helped me train my dog years ago at Petsmart in Conyers Georgia. I don’t have her anymore though because she moved to Florida with my mom. Lol. Anyways, yeah, they also have dog training books if you ever have trouble with your dogs.

ang 434 , yeah I just recently got my wife a rotty puppy. He’s about two months old now. Always chewing on cords even when he has toys, but it’s not so bad now. I have a kiddy fishing pole with a toy tied up to the string. So he’ll stop doing bad things when I cast the toy for him.
How do I train two puppies at once? I got two chocolate lab brothers and they are 9 weeks old and it’s really hard to get through the puppy biting even when trying to distract them with toys they can chew on, they just end up either biting each other or continue to bite me.
It's pretty easy teaching these types of tricks if it's a border collie
Not really. Border collies are extremely hyper.
@@MrRedforman1 not necessarily. My border collie (7 months) is not that hyper. He just gets distracted easily. When I do get his attention he's eager to learn. Definitely trying this one next!

@@MrRedforman1 honestly hyper makes a dog easier to train if you know what you're doing. Usually hyper dogs have higher food or toy drive and a drivey dog is the easiest and most fun to teach. It's just both you and the dog learning how to channel that drive in the right direction that takes a minute

My husband got me a chow chow, he’s 2 months & 1/2, and adorable, I’m trying my hardest to train him and he’s doing really good, but all of a sudden he’s starting to bark at strangers, just from a distance because once they approach, he’s friendly. Would it be a good thing to try with a not as agile bigger dog as well, like a golden retriever?
Doing the initial exercises in this video will be really good for balance, body awareness, musculature and confidence of your dog. You might not get your dog to actually ride the skateboard, especially if the board is too small, but as long as you don't force or overwhelm your dog there's no harm in doing the exercises.

Show him/her that you are the boss. Dont show fear and show you dog, that you are really really mad at him/her in this moment. In a pack, dogs aren't always friendly. They growl and bite each other. Do the same. You can bite her/him with your hand. Aggression against the owner is a no go! Don't be afraid of him/her. Be confident. In a pack, they lay on the back, when they are submissive. In such moments, you can force your dog to lay on the back. It maybe sounds rude and abuse, but in a dog pack, they are also rude sometimes. But keep in mind, that dogs live in the moment. Don't be mad at him/her for hours. Just in this short very important moment.
Hi Zak my German Shepherd dog is really hard to train because he is an outside dog which I don’t like but he is a fast learner but is too exited and hyper all the time especially when people are around. So he doesn’t listen so to me when I ask him regular commands like sit or lie down. What do you recommend me doing to help him to listen to me and my commands

Dulce Rodriguez I can already tell that he needs to be walked/ran more. My parents have 4 German Shepherds that I grew up with and trust me walking and running them often will help so much. They should be tired from that before you start training them! Even if they are outside all day and run, it’s a different dynamic when you walk or run them on leash.

Dude get like at least a nine or a 10 for him. That board looked like a 7.5 or maybe 7.75 at most so he isn't as stable as he could be with a wider stance. This is sick though I wanna teach my puppy to skate haha.
