I was just signed off today on a flight review after 15 years of rust build up. Feels so good!
That's awesome. How many flights did it take?
Solid flight sir, you will pick everything back up fast I guarantee it. Subbed to the channel and look forward to more content.
Thank you very much for the encouragement. I think over time I will get back on step.
Enjoyed your video. I'm an aspiring pilot ( going through ground school ) and I like this format of video because it puts me as the pilot and I ask my self questions about the flight and what I would be doing. Subbed as well keep so them coming.
Outstanding and thank you. More to be released soon
👍✅ Proud to be sub #41
Thank you for joining on the journey. Hope you enjoy the videos

Another "Rusty Pilot" here. Never thought I'd be at the controls ever again after I was misdiagnosed by a Navy "Doctor" way back in 1974. That came at the most inopportune time, as I had just finished my Commercial Pilot training, but hadn't scheduled my check ride yet. Long story short, a few years after I was discharge, I went to a civilian Doctor who determined the Navy didn't have any basis for their diagnosis, and put it writing. Still, I was discharged based on that misdiagnosis. Fast forward to 2023, when I saw that AOPA was holding a "Rusty Pilot" seminar at the Buckeye Air Fair. A moment of "I wonder if..." popped into my head and I decided to go. Feeling hopeful, I scheduled a consultation with an AME, who made my day, when he said he thought a 3rd Class Medical was doable and given the years that have passed, the Navy error shouldn't be an issue. However, I did have Cardiac Bypass surgery in 2014, so special issuance time.
Well after, six months and several requests for more info, more tests I was granted a SI 3rd Class. Two weeks ago, I was at the controls again with a CFI. I was a little nervous around the edges, especially on my first landing. Things are coming back pretty quickly. Two things have helped, one is that way back, I did have advanced training and two, I've been up a few times with a friend who has a 172, and I got a little stick time.
With each passing session, my confidence is coming back, and it feels great.
Great story to hear about coming back. Can't wait to hear how it all turns out.
His mother calls him Joshua, not Josh. Lol. This is from his mother.
