- A quick beginner-intermediate guide to play Potion Craft easier, faster, and more better. This is for the 1.0 full release now out on Steam, Xbox Gamepass and probably other places on the internet, too.
Thanks to @KillrobPlays for his incredibly in depth Good Start Guides. If you really wanna crank out the potions I recommend checking out his channel for way more info.
I had no idea the whirls teleport you! Thanks for the tips
Great video, but I would like to add a little. When it comes to talents, don't put any points into haggling until you have maxed out trading. Each level of trading affects prices by 10%, whereas haggling only increases by 5% and costs far more in terms of points. And since trading affects base prices and haggling is determined by the base price, it will improve that as well.
The recipe book is extremely useful. I typically save 2 recipes of each type to spread out ingredient usage. Its true potential is unlocked when compounded with the green books (alchemical practice talent) and your free movement tip. When saving recipes, I add all the ingredients, then save the recipe before ever stirring. That way when you go to brew the potion you can travel the entire way along the path again. This allows you to grab all the green books along the way, as while their spawn is random the locations aren't. And all books can respawn as green, even the very large ones. Saving the recipes in this manner also allows you to use other effects as a starting location when trying to branch out further into the maps.
Lastly, when putting in the last ingredient, always crush it fully (unless it is a rock). Not only does the extra movement give you more chances to grab books (even more effective when combined with water after already achieving the effects), but having the X directly where you are trying to go can make it harder to line up for the water. Keeping mind you don't have to use all the movement, try to always meet customers request when it comes to ingredients. Just toss them in before you finish the potion. This is a direct multiplier to what they will pay, so you can walk away with over 2k for something like a simple libido potion.
yess, that save recipe before stirring is so important, when i've realized this i already had like 15 recipes and now i'm slowly replacing them with "good recipes w/o stir" one by one
wow, that's so smart!
This was insanely helpful i could not understate this enough
I learned so much, thank you

Wait I'm a little confused. Do you only haggle customers when they're buying a potion for over 100g, or do you never haggle them over 100g? It seems like it'd be the second one, but both the text and voiceover implied the first one
Another one: if you want to achieve everything in the book haggle only if you need it, haggling will make you gain popularity a little bit slower and you'll find yourself with every other achievements done and 3 popularity levels left, they're endless. (Only applies to customers, always haggle with merchants)
some potion r such a pain in the ass. like, 5 ingredients, all far from eachother.
how
If you're willing to exploit the save system haggling is actually OP. 🤷
