Ya'll, that professor is a good man. He did all the right things professionally even though he needed to tell his supervisors that his wife cheated on him with a student to do so. He was probably so humiliated and heartbroken and then he had to make that the business of his employers and colleagues in order to ensure fair and ethical treatment for that student. Man's a G. Lots of profs aren't half as ethical.
Part of me is skeeved out by the prof, tho. If he mistook him as her dad, that implies he’s at least in his 40s? Did he meet his wife while being her teacher? Kind of ick
@@malcolm2553 I mean, there's also a possibility that she lied about her age just as she omitted her being married, although I would imagine there is at least 10 years of age difference between the professor and his wife for op to think she was his daughter
@@malcolm2553 Cause nobody ever lies about there age. And nobody ever looks younger than their agae. Get your head out of your ass. Stop trying to victim blame
on the Professor story, if she gave him that 20 minute time-limit, and she wasn't rushing him out of the bed when she heard the Professor coming in.... she WANTED to get caught. That shit was intentional and you'll never convince me otherwise.
In Germany we have the "die Tafel", you only get food there if you are really in need. The people who can get the food have to proof that they are in need, because they have no unlimited funds.
That food bank husband is multiple layers of financially abusive. Hes not content enough trying to control his wife spending her own money, he has to go out of his way to *steal food from the poor just to throw it away* . How is this woman not considering divorcing such a disgusting person
What whiplash going from that awful crumb of a human to someone helping a charity go viral and donating more than he originally intended. Great stories
It's fake. The fake AITAs always hit the same few story beats. In this popular template, a wife or long-term girlfriend has a male partner who suddenly turns into a cartoon villain with behaviour that absolutely no-one would condone. She mildly rebukes him and his entire family starts blowing up her phone, (you know, because THAT's a thing that happens when couples argue), and now she's going to Reddit for advice instead of talking to a single real-life friend. EDIT: Can I just re-emphasise that for some reason it is ALWAYS the guy's ENTIRE FAMILY blowing up OP's phone in these stories. It's never just one nosy parent-in-law, apparently cousin Jeb and the twins have to get in on the action too.
The gofundme surpassed their goal only just a few hours ago! It’s incredible that an embarrassing reddit story has helped hundreds of people in need! 🎉🎉🎉
I feel AWFUL for him, I was almost crying when Shayne showed the pics! But to still donate 1500 is amazing, and he posted the link and probably got a ton more donations
Fun fact: Huntsman spiders do rack up some numbers in terms of deaths and injuries, but not because they’re dangerous. They are actually very chill and don’t really want to be around you as much as you don’t want to be around them. But they are simply so large, and have a tendency to hide in places, that they scare people often, resulting in heart attacks, car accidents, and just accidents in general. Poor things, they are just too scary for their own good 😅😅
When I was in high-school I saw a guy have a meltdown in a situation like this and asked him what he'd think if a gay guy reacted to his rejection like this. This was a mistake because he wasn't willing to get violent with the girl who rejected him but I was a different story. Long story short we both got suspended.
For the Bangladesh donation story, I counted 104 people as of today who mentioned Smosh in their donation which I just think is cool. Not to mention various people on Reddit coming together to donate more than Michael accidentally did initially. I'm glad Michael made that mistake and put it out on the internet.
The look on their faces when Shayne says “ cuckolded my professor” followed by them saying raw dog together is my all time favourite moment on these Reddit stories videos. I have rewatched it a few dozen times
I think it’s good that the professor recused himself from grading his work. Yeah, it’s embarrassing to get administration involved, but that ensures fairness for the student.
It would also be embarrassing to be dragged before an ethics committee if the student filed a complaint were they to fail the exam. Professor did the best thing for everyone.
@@brittneyscriven6106yeah, but we all know that lots of guys with positions of power like his (powerful enough to seduce a much younger woman into marriage) have egos that would prevent them from doing so. Like, at this point, we ALL should know that there really are simply just people who are that stupid in our universities, mine included
@@drakevick1646 Why do you assume he "seduced" her into a marriage? Is it not enough that she's a grown adult that can make her own decisions? Stop infantilizing adults because you can't handle age gaps. Age gaps have always existed, and yes, a lot of them are predatory, but not all of them. Not even most of them.
As a fellow Australian I feel that first mans pain. I once had a huntsman drop on me in the shower while I was cleaning my crack, freaked out... Slipped.. "probed" myself. Didn't walk right for two weeks. Huntsman truly Hunt man
My wife and I relied on food banks for food for several years. To the point where there were weeks where if the food bank had nothing.. we didn't eat. Because of this we also had the mindset that the weeks where we had say 80% of our needs, my wife and I would sometimes NOT go to the foodbank so people who had it worse could get our portion that week. The idea there are people like that guy out there is making me cry atm. It's heartbreaking.
This behavior is unacceptable and a major character issue. It is disgusting to hear about people take advantage of a system that has help you and me. I hope everything is looking up for you and you’re family ❤
I'm sorry but the guy in the food bank story is straight up EVIL. He knows exactly what he's doing and is actively disregarding the ethics of it. He is immoral and depraved, period.
Having had a friend with a prosthetic leg as a kid, the pocket skirt story had me rolling. He usually wore pants and liked to play pranks on people by popping off the knee cap piece and laying on the ground with it bent the wrong way. He always had a great sense of humor.
Went to school with a girl who lost her arm in a car wreck… super sad and the whole school was heartbroken for her and anticipated her return to school so they could express condolences. She took a couple months to come back but when she did she had a great attitude about it. She would tell new kids that it was a shark bite from surfing (coastal town) and even walk down the aisle in the lunchroom bopping people on the head with the stump. She was a scream😂😂😂
Also the fact that the food bank guy controls her finances AND doesn’t let her touch “his” money when he likely plans to live off her trust fund later on is crazy
Yeah how can u stay married to someone who controls you like that, this person is delusional or brainwashed or something. I personally couldn't even have married that man, the fact that she would still stay after that amount of douchbagery
As someone who will jump out of a toilet and grab your balls, I can confirm, a Huntsman Spider is nowhere near the worst thing to jump out of a toilet and grab your balls
That's what I was thinking. She was more than justified in sending his picture to every food bank in the area (because I doubt that barring him from just one food bank would make him stop), with a letter explaining that he's actually well off and pretending to be in need just because he doesn't want to spend money on food.
On behalf of Bangladeshi community I thank Michael from the bottom of my heart. I just really hope , the donations go to the right people who are actually in need. ❤
Man, my partner and I probably should use the food bank or get on food stamps and it's still hard for us to feel like we're in a bad enough spot for it, even though making rent and groceries is getting increasingly difficult. This dude is disgusting. Perfect example of the ethics/money paradox. Generally the more money people have the worse ethics they have. There's been studies on this. Not sure why that is but it makes sense. The more money people have the more sociopathic they seem to get. You'd have to to justify hoarding while millions starve.
@@hotarubinariko if getting groceries is hard, you should go to a food bank. Its not just for people who can't afford any groceries, its meant to alleviate food insecurity. Hopefully it alleviates your financial pressure a little bit. And hey, when you're in a good financial spot again, donate to a food bank! Pay it forward when you can for someone who's in a tight spot. This reddit guy though? Scumbag
Wow, that story about the guy accidentally donating too much money is incredible. I’m actually crying. If you go to the go fund me page the kids are now holding signs that say “thank you Reddit!” 😭 What an amazing way to correct your mistake and end up helping people far much greater than you initially planned.
I had to stop the video to have a sobbing break. That broke me in the best way. It was the pictures that made it so much more personal. That plus seeing Shayne get emotional made me a gross crying mess.
If my husband were misusing food banks, I would go to every one in the area with a copy of his picture/ID and ask them not to give them anything. That’s sick.
I genuinely appreciate the girl in the second story for trying to tell the guy that Hannah isn’t into him without outing Hannah. That’s honestly a great friend. Even if you know, your friend is comfortable and open with their sexuality, it’s still not your place to tell someone
yeah, and also why would you ask someone out if you cant actually talk to them and have to ask their friend for all their personal information??? its wasn't the friends responsibility to tell him anything in the first place
@@BoobalinaBrown Right. That friend was so kind in not outing her while being nice about telling him not a good idea trying to protect them both. She did her best, especially being a kid in HS. I can understand someone being shy, insecure and unsure and just ask the friend if maybe they had a chance or if it was a good idea to ask them out and take their yes or no into consideration then ask the *person* they are interested in if they wanna go out and get to know in private or not ask at all AND leave that person's friend out of it. And if they say no then that is a complete sentence and just move on. Then I don't get why a person would be so in their feelings when the friend flat out said/warned he wasn't her their type and its not a good idea...the answer was right there and common sense didn't kick in. Getting on one knee in front of everyone after having that info and getting embarrassed and hard HS lesson was all on him. Ridiculous. As an Australian, can confirm that you ALWAYS check the toilet and do a quick scan of every corner of the bathroom before you sit down, especially in Summer! We’ve all had the traumatic experience of being trapped in a stall with the local wildlife 😂
even though I live in California if I'm ever in a questionable bathroom where I think there's a possibility of some kind of critter in the toilet I do a pre-poop flush. I've seen too many videos of snakes or spiders coming out when that happens so just lifting the seat for a cursory glance doesn't reassure me anymore
Moved to Queensland and found out there are social huntsmen on the property. That live in groups of 200. Luckily the chickens found the nest first but I live with the fear they may find a new collective home in the house
When they first suspected Australia, I'm like calm down dont need to immediately assume Australia but hearing the part where they gave him an incident report for the meme. Fuck thats hella Australian 😂
Regarding the Food Bank Story: Some food banks, at least in my area, do take your details when you come, at least the first time. The wife could potentially call the local area food banks and inform them of her husband's behavior, and they could be on the lookout for him. I'd recommend doing this if you hear of any situation like this, at the very least it's worth trying, even if they say they can't check you did something to try and prevent the food theft.
I run a foodbank and found that story so upsetting. That guy seriously needs therapy. I definitely couldn't be married to someone who steals from the poor.
Yeah. That's so incredibly effed up. Especially as a poor person. That angers me so much. That fresh food could've gone to someone who desperately needs it, especially with how expensive fresh food is and how little of it is covered by WIC or SNAP.
Honestly he is a garbage person and that makes me so mad. I’ve had to get food from the food bank but even as someone who was in need I waited until everyone else got something first cause I couldn’t stand the idea of taking anything from a family that needed it more than me. The fact that someone who doesn’t need it would abuse that charity is disgusting
I looked at the go fund me and they passed their goals. I see a lot of the donations saying “Smosh brought me here.” Thank you guys for adding the link and helping them make their goal. You guys rock!!!
Guys, I’m honestly SO GRATEFUL you put the donation link in the description. They’re at 106.5k rn. Im Born in Europe but my family is south Asian so I know how it is out there. My dads retired now and does some work with Small religious charitable organisations like this. It’s gone up 13,000 dollars from when you recorded. I’m 100 percent certain at least 5 of that is because you guys shared the link. Thank you.
Thought it would good to update you: 183k now and they got their nonprofit status! I believe their newest goal is 250k and hopefully a van to help them reach more folks. Happy holidays!
I 100% believe that, I was thinking had she been the daughter, she was younger than she said, but if she was the wife, then she was likely older than she said.
The Donation story really brought back my belief in humanity. the charity now passed 118,000 dollars!!! It's really awesome what people can do when they come together. They just posted an update a couple of days ago and i cried. keep donating guys!! its important work
It is really nice but on the other hand someone like Jeff Bezos could donate 100 times that and not notice Like if I were some multi billionaire, I'd just be cruising through gofundme and maxing out random people's requests for shits and giggles. I guess I wouldn't be rich for long
Mason's actions are all things that men do to pressure women into doing what they want. (asking in public, making a dramatic gesture, refusing to say no, being disproportionately upset when rejected) Hopefully he'll learn that it's not an okay thing to do, and adjust his approach when asking girls out.
I mean I still feel bad for him, even if it was like that it wasn’t a conscious decision to manipulate her, he was just trying and put himself out there and when she didn’t reciprocate he was understandablely sad. I’ve never had the balls to ask anyone out so maybe it shouldn’t be a big deal but thinking of a kid doing it then yeah
I need Reddit story theater. The Potato story NEEDS to be the first adaption. I can see Shane being the boyfriend, Noah the dad, and Amanda as the mom.
What? Your casting lacks imagination. Between those 3, Noah should be OP, Shayne should be the girlfriend, and Amanda should play the dad. Shayne dying of embarrassment while Amanda and Noah scream at each other about potatoes would be AMAZING
As someone who’s had to go to a food bank I’m shocked that guy gets away with constantly going. At my local place, you have to show documentation a lot of the time to prove that you’re unemployed or low income, along with your license or other official documents for everyone in your household. Blows my mind. People like that make everything harder for people who need help.
That’s what I was thinking. I volunteered at a food bank for a while and since we received food from golden harvest (federally funded) we had to keep track of people and schedule people’s appointments and had to keep up on files on each family. Like it was a lot. And I remember thinking how hard it is to be poor, but I guess that story helps explain why people had to jump through so many hoops to get food. It always frustrates me but then again, we always had food for the people who needed it and I don’t think many people were getting food or assistance who didn’t need it.
Yah that’s what I don’t understand either. I mean, anyone can go, they don’t judge you. You could have been laid off from your job, or just paid a massive vet bill… But there should be some sort of proof of income in any form. I’ve had to go a few times myself but I was on disability at the time. I saw people of all ages, people who legit looked very hard done by and then well dressed young students. So we can never know what someone is going through. But this man is an actual AH.
I just went to my local food bank for the first time today. They don’t check income, but there’s a sign with suggested income ranges for singles and families of various sizes. I’m within the income range for a single person and I still was careful to not take more than I need. Because I didn’t want to waste any food or take something from someone who needs it more. I also don’t eat much meat and no dairy so I didn’t need those items. Like the workers were like are you sure you don’t want more? This story makes me so mad.
3 weeks after this was posted I've looked at the gofundme and they now have raised over $140,000, with most of the donations being the originally intended amount of $150. Seeing a story showing how great humans can be when focused on a good cause together is truly amazing.
I was the "hannah" in a less-cringey asking/coming out story. To be fair we were adults, not high schoolers. The "mason" was an old coworker that i got along with, he asked me out, I told him I only dated women, and he was chill about it. He's a comedian and he later asked if he could talk about it during a routine. The punchline was about how it was the first(only?) time he got rejected "for having too much d" which like, yeah he's not wrong lol 😂
My thought exactly, I'd be visiting the local food banks with a bunch of big glossy photos of my husband for them to keep on hand, and also posting to the facebook groups putting him on blast for being the reason all the food is gone.
@@celo7carvalho Probably, but it's fun to suspend our disbelief and practice thinking about people's actions, their intentions, and what that means about them. Helps me think about my relationships with other people when it's this kind of format.
As a lesbian myself, the story of Hannah rejecting Mason is unfortunately among the best case scenarios when it comes to handling men who ask you out. There have been plenty of men who flirted with me who didn't back off when I told them I was gay, instead asking me "Well, have you ever been with a guy before? How would you know you're a lesbian if you've never even tried being with a guy?" It's utterly exhausting to deal with on a regular basis.
I'm a lesbian, too! Even after coming out to them, I've had guys ask me out anyways because they thought I was joking about being a lesbian... Why in the fresh hell would I joke about that? If a guy asks me out now, I just lie and say I have a boyfriend. It's easier than dealing with the whole "Are you suuure you're a lesbian?" "I thought you were joking about being a lesbian." "I bet I can turn you straight." The more I deal with assholes like them, the more I'm grateful that I'm not interested in men at all.
Trust me if that guy made a big scene PUBLICLY asking her out WITHOUT even confessing to her first. After her friend LITERALLY said she was not interested, He deserves it. At best he wanted attention. At worst he was trying to pressure her into saying yes
The food bank story is insane. “My mom stayed at home, and my dad did charity work.” How old is the money in that family? Damn. And her husband could be an Always Sunny character.
The poor guy complimenting the girls skirt hit home for me, when my sister was 4 we were at the grocery store with our mom and there was a man standing at customer service right by the door. He had crutches and his pant leg was pinned up at his knee. My sister went up to him and just point blank asked where his leg was! Mom was mortified but luckily the guy had a good sense of humor and he told us that he'd been in a hurry that morning and forgot it at home XD
Surprised no one considered the prof's wife planned to get caught. Possible the prof was in on it but had to change plans when he saw it was his student. Either way I have no doubt the wife wanted to get started before he got there and not hide/clean up when he came home because she wanted him to see exactly what he saw.
Yeah, this is where I'm leaning too. Either she wanted him to walk in on them, or they both planned it. Considering the fairly calm reaction, I'm leaning towards both being in on it but didn't expect a student. Which... is stupid considering where they were living....
Can we talk about the fact that this woman says her dad spent most of her life doing charity work yet she's married to a man who STEALS FROM THE POOR!!! How has she been okay with this until now? I realize she's tried to talk him out of it before, but she should be willing to divorce him by now. It takes an evil person to steal food right out under people who need it when you could afford all the food you want.
So far I’ve lived my entire life in poverty and low income. I had also picked up “don’t ask for help” mindset from my parents. When i became a 19 year old mom and discovered wic/food stamps, it changed my whole life. The local food bank had also donated thanksgiving meals to my child’s day care so we were able to have help with thanksgiving (it was the first turkey I ever made and LOVED it)
1:03:20 as an amputee, can confirm that the majority of us have great senses of humor. I can almost guarantee we all have those cringe stories that we find hilarious but keeps the other person up at night. I was sitting down at work once and this guy came up to me and said "oh, what happened to your leg?" To which, still just making small talk, I responded "I had it amputated earlier this year." Ive never seen someone look so horrified so fast in their life. His eyes got super wide and he looked really pale. "I-I didn't realize you were missing a leg. I just thought you were wearing a knee brace and hurt your leg somehow..." I thought it was super funny so I laughed and told him the full story to try and make him feel better and assure him there were no hard feelings from me. He still seemed shaky and apologetic when he left though lol
As an Australian, can confirm the first story makes so much sense. We don't have huntsmen visit every day where i live, but a few times a year they do appear. My worst story was one chilling between the halves of the towel on the rail. Jump out of the shower, wrapped the towel around me and it dropped to the ground. The HR form was definitely a piss take that I could see a number of former co-workers do.
Ok but... what species are australians. HOW CAN U TELL THAT SO CALMLY. i would die if a gigantic spider went to my calves, even worst if it was in my balls. I know that they arent deadly. but they are hella scary
The food bank one is so frustrating as there’s so many wealthy people who genuinely feel they’re entitled to donations like food bank supplies simply because someone else is getting it while completely ignore the circumstances to why that person needs to receive those donations.
They believe in equality not equity. I'm sure they were the same ones that got jealous of kids with learning disabilities getting extra time on tests too
@georgedoty-williams2085 it wasn't disciplinary action on the student, prof was protecting himself from potential accusations of giving the student a bad grade on purpose.
For the story about Mason asking her out, I am pretty sure he cried because he's a teenager who had his whole class laugh at him. I mean, I agree he was being way too pushy and cringey asking her out after being warned by her friend he was not her type but I feel like I would probably cry if I (in a very weird way) asked someone out and had people laugh at me when it went "bad". I hope he has enough introspection to learn from this and hopefully he and her can talk it out so there isn't any weirdness eventually but yeah. I don't think it's the fact she was a lesbian but the fact that he did something, it blew up in his face, and people they knew laughed at him.
Mason sounds like an asshole, I think he was trying to pressure her into not saying no out of politeness. And not taking no for an answer? Huge red flag.
Going to the gofundme and seeing how many donations were received after this video posted makes my heart so happy. Smosh, you've created such a wholesome community.
I was so happy I had to pause and replay!! I was at one of the shows smosh did in Australia and the crowd all told the cast how to pronounce Melbourne properly 😂 glad it stuck!
Unpopular opinion but in an American accent it sounds correct to say mel-brn with a short r sound rather than mel-bən. I say mel-bən as a melburnian because my accent drops R's, but in a rhotic accent like Shayne's it sounds off to not pronounce the R. That would be the most apt translation from an Aussie accent to Shayne's accent. Of course it would be much worse to say mel-BURRN with an elongated vowel sound but whatever
Food bank story: OP should send a picture of her husband to the food bank along with an explanation of what he's doing. The food bank probably keeps a file of people to not give food to. Like, the local SPCA has a picture of this one guy I know who's a cat hoarder and has been banned from ever owning cats, accompanied by a clear message to never give that guy a cat. I'm sure the food bank has something similar, or they should.
I actually feel extremely sorry for the man who encountered that spider... just looked them up and they are efing huge. Praying he has some mental help with that :(
i can't tell if your being sarcastic, but i really do feel bad for him as well. i have a serious fear of spiders. i'd probably end up passing out on the toilet if that ever happened to me lmao.
Yeah but they’re pretty harmless. Only females during mating season can bite (still rare though). It irritates me when people kill them unnecessarily (in this case totally understandable as he was in shock etc). Their feet face forward and they move fast which freaks people out but they keep cockroaches at bay among other household pests. Mind, this person sounds like they’re from the city, anyone from the bush has it engrained into them to check the toilet because all sorts of creatures visit (spiders, snakes toads and frogs) lol. You only have to get slapped on the bum by a Green Tree Frog to learn your lesson once.
A note about the food bank story: her husband is such a $@*#! My brother and I are poor. We work weird and highly stressful hours at a warehouse, and we still struggle to pay our rent and bills from month to month. A huge part of our ability to survive is being able to go to our local food bank for things that we can’t afford to buy, like fresh meat and vegetables. The fact that this guy goes out of his way to steal food from people like us or even less fortunate is just beyond deplorable!
Me and my husband were at the grocery store in the Frozen aisle, when he said "it's so cold my arms are gonna fall off." Right as he ended that sentence, a lady with BOTH arms half gone comes around the corner, lifts up her stumps, and says "REALLY??" (She said in good fun because we all died laughing with that impeccable timing)

As an Australian who lives in the suburbs not too far from the city, I had a huntsman fall onto my shoulder the other day while taking out the garbage. Fell onto my shoulder and jumped straight into the empty bin as I was walking under a tree in the backyard. Our outdoor camera caught me throwing the bin and running off screaming inside. As an Australian, I showed everyone that video 😅
The friend of the lesbian girl is 100% not in the wrong. As a trans person I would never want someone else to tell that to someone, because it IS a big safety concern (i’ve been threatened in middle school for it). Never tell someone else about another persons identity unless you have direct confirmation that you are allowed to. also, the freind did the best she could, she said “you’re not her type” which is the best way to handle it. it’s not like she said “yeah, go for it!”
one hundred percent. i’m trans too and got outed but i was pretty lucky. a girl approached me in a bathroom and asked if that was true (told her no) and that was it. also i hate hearing my name in these stories lol
She's definitely not in the wrong. She gave him a really big hint. I mean, "You're not her type" is much different than "She's not interested". He wasn't reading the room. Also with getting down on one knee to ask someone out, no need for all that. It only brings unwanted attention in a situation where you could be rejected and noticed.
Something to consider.... the student said he "cuckold" his professor. Maybe it was a setup that he was supposed to see and the student was unaware. This would explain why the wife did not tell him to hide. And the only reason the professor got mad is because the guest star was an unexpected student THAT HE ALREADY DID NOT LIKE
Why would she lie about her (presumable age and) marital status though if that was the case? Surely you'd disclose "I'm married and my husband gets off on seeing other men rail me"
@justaperson4656 maybe the specific scenario she wanted was an affair "surprise". And the best way to get a natural reaction out of your guest star is to make him unaware he's "acting"

The wife KNEW it was probably her husband and yet she didn't panic.. Exactly. Isn't that something someone might want to walk in on if, as partners, you agree to to cuckold? But then he walks in and it's his STUDENT. Fantasy ruined 😂

What boggles my mind for the food bank guy, both he and his wife grew up fairly wealthy. She had it easier than he did by how she described how they grew up and yet she has more empathy in her pinky than that man has ever had for anyone in his entire life!! She doesn’t even have any first hand knowledge of what it means to struggle financially and yet she was advocating so much for other people who do have to struggle. It amazes me how none of her empathy rubbed off on him even slightly in the 17 years they were together!
Lol calm down she said he was wrong then took a vacation. She didn't even call the food banks. She has performative empathy. She's not actually doing anything to stop him. And in staying with him and refusing to leave him she is enabling him.
@@spencedbuddy6343exactly. She could very well send an anonymous email showing that the guy has money, she just didn't want to do it. While what he is doing is rather awful, and I honestly feel like it's one of the most awful things someone can do, defending her so hard ain't it either.
@@HELLO-mx6ptnot defending her in the slightest and she absolutely should be doing more than she is to stop him. His behavior is disgusting and she needs to take action. I was pointing out that being they both grew up wealthy the fact she has that much empathy from the get go and he didn’t get any of it rubbed off on him is astonishing to me. Most often, people who grow up wealthy couldn’t care less that the food from the food bank is taking away from others and affecting those less fortunate, they usually would care more it isn’t from their posh upscale stores and isn’t as good of quality. I was the most focused on the lack of empathy he has and didn’t even think to comment that she is also in the wrong. I’ll edit it later to reflect that she is in no way absolved of responsibility here.
@@eevesjunkyard of course. I wasn't exactly reflecting on your own comment, but more on the overall narrative that a lot of comments (and even the smosh gang) built based on the information. While I do agree that most wealthy people probably aren't like that, there's a bit of a difference that I think it's important. He was probably a second or first generation in his family's wealth, which would mean that, while growing up, there was a bigger fear factor of losing the money they had (either through personal experience or fear inflicted by his parents). She is probably old money, being able to have a father that only does charity as work, so it reflects on how her world view is more in touch with the short comings on society. The problem with the second kind of people is that there's a sense of superiority when it comes to social matter, kinda the rich versus really rich videos that were popular some years back. They don't like taking action tho, and fall over donations and the sort to justify they lack of awareness or misguided decisions they take. This last few paragraphs don't necessarily depict the stories of the people that participated in the reddit interaction, but is more of a comment on how the mentalities of different people with different wealth backgrounds might react to this sort of situations. Either way, nice talking with you. Let me know if you want to keep talking about this since I find posts like those super interesting.
Just saw that someone made a $5000 donation on the go fund me around the same time this video was posted and I like to think that the two are related. Thank you smash for spreading the word and helping support a good cause. This is why I love you guys so much, keep being awesome
"I took a vacation from my husband" I don't know how food banks work in the U.S. but judging by this story it seems like a messed system. Here in Brazil, there's something similar called "cesta básica", it's basically a pack of essentials, not only food but also soap, toilet paper, toothbrushes, and so on. They are pre-made, so you can't take excessively. You can get one per ID, and you also need to provide some personal information so they can check on your financial situation. It's a lot more work, but seeing situations like this really makes you understand why it's necessary.
I have an awesome story with a lesbian. I was hanging out by the lake during a music festival. I saw a beautiful girl and some other guys playing hackey sack and I knew my way around the ol sack so I asked if I could join and I chatted her up and took my shot asked her out. She said sorry I'm a lesbian and I said " oh cool, wanna be friends still? And she said yeah. And it was the start of a really wonderful and rare friendship that was so open and honest and I think it's because it started with that interaction and it set the tone as accepting and kind. That's how we both try to be in life, unfortunately I've lost touch with that friendship but I think we could rekindle it anytime that connection was always effortless as friends.
This sounds like an amazing friendship. I'm a lesbian and one time a guy asked me out and after I told him I'm gay but we could be friends if he still wanted to hang out, he accepted. We ended up playing DnD together with some other friends, we no longer really hang out but he was a great friend and I cherish the times we had! I'm glad you didn't feel awkward about the initial meeting and ended up having a great friendship with her.
Reach out and tell her you’re were reminded of that today (: I always love hearing from friends that drifted away years ago. I’ve rekindled a great friendship that way!

The story about the guy going to food banks is a prime example of how the rich stay rich. They don't spend their money they take yours.
Tbh, he sounds like the kind of guy that if he really wanted money, he’d kill his wife for the money!
In Germany we have the "die Tafel", you only get food there if you are really in need. The people who can get the food have to proof that they are in need, because they have no unlimited funds.
The way he needs to be shamed is game of thrones style.
I would divorce someone for this. His behavior is sickening.
Truly despicable
That food bank husband is multiple layers of financially abusive. Hes not content enough trying to control his wife spending her own money, he has to go out of his way to *steal food from the poor just to throw it away* . How is this woman not considering divorcing such a disgusting person
Was about to say something similar!!
What whiplash going from that awful crumb of a human to someone helping a charity go viral and donating more than he originally intended. Great stories
He's probably also abusive in other ways
Don't you need to show proof of income for food banks? Idk, but in my area I think you need to

Fun fact: Huntsman spiders do rack up some numbers in terms of deaths and injuries, but not because they’re dangerous. They are actually very chill and don’t really want to be around you as much as you don’t want to be around them.

Noah screaming at Shayne to get tf out of his house for not knowing what a potato is, is something I definitely need

That gut was truly selfish

The husband from the 4th story is definitely trying to financially abuse his wife. She definitely needs to report him to the food banks!
100% if she doesn't want to leave him and he won't stop she should at least put a stop to it by reporting him.
It’s fake
My thought exactly, I'd be visiting the local food banks with a bunch of big glossy photos of my husband for them to keep on hand, and also posting to the facebook groups putting him on blast for being the reason all the food is gone.

The food bank story is insane. “My mom stayed at home, and my dad did charity work.” How old is the money in that family? Damn. And her husband could be an Always Sunny character.
sounds like frank.
That guy is awesome! Lol
The donation story is simultaneously so wholesome, funny, and anxiety inducing
Surprised no one considered the prof's wife planned to get caught. Possible the prof was in on it but had to change plans when he saw it was his student. Either way I have no doubt the wife wanted to get started before he got there and not hide/clean up when he came home because she wanted him to see exactly what he saw.
Yeah, this is where I'm leaning too. Either she wanted him to walk in on them, or they both planned it. Considering the fairly calm reaction, I'm leaning towards both being in on it but didn't expect a student. Which... is stupid considering where they were living....

Agreed. He shouldn't have blamed the OP for not outing her friend, but in every other way my heart goes out to this kid.

As an Aussie, I just wanted to say how impressed I was with Shayne’s perfect pronunciation of “Melbourne” 👏🏻
I was so happy I had to pause and replay!! I was at one of the shows smosh did in Australia and the crowd all told the cast how to pronounce Melbourne properly 😂 glad it stuck!
I was also impressed by his Aussie pronunciations!
