Ever since I was very little, I was always interested in the Asian culture. I loved anything japanese like candies imported, I loved the Korean and Japanese import stores. I even enjoyed manga. i think this is part of the reason I am so into kpop, it has always made me happy to learn about Asia. I have always dreamed of traveling there. Even when I was young I tried to learn Japanese. I'm going to start with korean, because it seems easiest. It's my new years resolution. Wish me luck!

I love Korean, it is such a beautiful language. I think 어, 오, 에, 아, 으, along with other vowels in Korean, are supposed to be “full word attachments” like 맘 instead of ㅁㅏㅁ or 처럼 as such. Such as regular Korean-detached letters such as ㅓ, ㅗ, ㅖ, ㅏ, ㅡ, and ㅜ instead of 우. Like 맘, 심장, 달, and so on and so forth.
Reasons I'm learning Korean. 1) BTS and their live streams 2) Kdramas so that I don't have to read so many subtitles 3) Because I'm going to korea soon and I need to be able to get around 4) just in case I find myself a hot Korean boy in korea 5) because I need to learn a language so I might as well learn one I listen to a lot.

The kpop reasoning is fun but honestly I find it kinda satisfying to be able to understand something that the rest of the western world considers chicken scratch. I love looking at Japanese packaging, signs, etc. and being able to derive some kind of meaning from them, even if I don't know the whole thing yet. I'm still a student in that language but the more progress I make the more I want to learn more. I can feel my world broadening every time I learn more and it's fun :)

English is my second language, and the roman alphabet/letters is similar used in many European language, hence easier to learn. Later I have learned arabic language and the russian (cryllic) alphabet. Now you inspired me for hangul, and I will follow your classes regulary! Y'all should check out this app called "Write it! Korean", you can turn of the Romanisation option in the app. It has the feature if what she said about hearing the pronunciation while writing it down.

I've been trying to learn Korean from apps but none explain this and it confuses me why ''A" is written as "0I-" or why there is an "O" at the beginning of every vowel. The kpop reasoning is fun but honestly I find it kinda satisfying to be able to understand something that the rest of the western world considers chicken scratch. I love looking at Japanese packaging, signs, etc. and being able to derive some kind of meaning from them, even if I don't know the whole thing yet. I'm still a student in that language but the more progress I make the more I want to learn more. I can feel my world broadening every time I learn more and it's fun :)

Thank you so much! I have so many times tried to learn myself hangul, but have given up too easy each time. English is my second language, and the roman alphabet/letters is similar used in many European language, hence easier to learn. Later I have learned arabic language and the russian (cryllic) alphabet. Now you inspired me for hangul, and I will follow your classes regulary! Ps; then I might not have to wait for the english translation before I watch my favorite Korean drama L.O.L

Y'all should check out this app called "Write it! Korean", you can turn of the Romanisation option in the app.
It has the feature if what she said about hearing the pronunciation while writing it down.

OMGOT!!! You just helped me under stand! I've been trying to learn Korean from apps but none explain this and it confuses me why ''A" is written as "0I-" or why there is an "O" at the beginning of every vowel. I was so confused and didn't understand but in less than 5 minutes you helped me out!
