She is using “The Works” toilet bowl cleaner. I’ve been using it for years and it works amazingly well! BTW, I always put mine in a spray bottle, pouring it from the bottle is a huge waste and horrible coverage! I recently changed and started using “Iron Out” spray, it works WAY BETTER!!! Try it you won’t be disappointed, I promise
Thanks for the recommendation.
The works also makes a big boom when mixed in a closed bottle with tin foil😂
@@thegasstation7441 Oh no! Thanks for the warning!
Can someone tell me where to get The Works
@@t22davenport34 Amazon. I have a link to it in the description.
So amazing. I didn’t think it would work so fast and easily! I love cleaning videos so I’m excited about this new series.
It really was amazing Antonia! How often do you find a product that doesn't require scrubbing? Often products claim that but don't deliver, I was pleasantly surprised with this one!
I've always used Works toilet bowl cleaner. I wear a mask, fumes are wicked open window and ventilate. I pour it in spray bottle. I mist tub bottom and in rows mist my way slowly up, it keeps it more evenly applied so you don't get the drippy streaks. Then I scrub in circles with teflon scrubby as to not harm tub surround finish. Only bad part is it removed the finish off my drain hardware.
Thanks for sharing!
It is of no help if I do not know the name of the chemical that she used. I would have love to hear the name of the cleaning agent.
The product is linked in the description. Thought that would be better than just telling you the product name. The company makes the cleaner with and without the chemical that removes stains, so if I say the name...you could order the incorrect product. Hope that helps;
Lol I was thinking the same thing
So is that rust or build of from self tanning products?! 😂
It looks pretty liquid, so might cover better if you get a spray bottle and spray it on…

The Works is awesome! This stuff is the best. Found it at the $1 Store some 15 years ago. Now I see it in other big chain places for more than just a $1. Anywsy, after letting it soak for about 30 -45 min and a little elbow it took off months of sulphur water uric acid build up! Amazing!
It's caustic, however so wear protective clothing, gloves and eye wear.
It's like magic in a bottle :)
FYI you need to get the overflow cover back on. The cover holds the overflow drain in place and tight against the back of the tub so it seals. The way it is water can/will get behind the tub and may allow mold growth in the wall.
Hi Jim, yes I did. The screws has rusted on the one that was on the tub, so I had to replace it.
Wow this stuff works miracles I had the same problem went to home Depot bought The Works cleaner and magic 😀 all the rust is gone .Thank you
Yay! So glad it worked for you
This is so awesome, an amazing difference. Thank you for sharing (Ima try it right away).
Great hope it works for you
So satisfying!
Right?! Watching dirt disappear is very satisfying to me too
Thanks so much for this video, I was about to resurface my tub. Will give this product a try first. Thanks again, have a safe weekend God Bless❤😇
Oh good! I hoped I saved you the hassle and extra work. LMK if it works!
@@HappyHauteHome I sure will😇
I bought some rust and lime removal to try on mine with soft long handled brush to spread it around. I also have a spray bottle of vinegar. And a nubby cleaning cloth to polish and shine after I rinse it. We have hard water. We even use iron out in our water softener
Hi Virginia, did it work?
Try the CLR foaming spray. It'll stay put better and help cover the whole surface. 😊 Also, cling film like saran wrap will help hold whatever product to the surfaces. 😊
Hi, CLR didn't work for me but I'm glad it did for you :)
We just installed an "Iron Curtain" device from Osby Water Conditioning(local to us). For the first time in 30 years we do not have rust on our fixtures. We have a water softner but it can't handle the amount of iron in our water so this device catches the iron first and then the water goes through the softner and throughout the rest of the house.
Wonderful! I bet you are happy about not seeing those rust stains. I believe ours conditions as well as softening. It's an expensive system and also eliminates the sulfur scent.
Thank you, the tile on my spare bathroom wall stains tub deck. Just ordered from Amazon 🤞🏽hope it works like yours did 👍🏽
Fingers crossed, I hope so!
Where did you find the link to order it? I’ve watched twice and don’t see it.
@@jameygill6049 Hi Jamey, sorry you are having problems. The link is in the info section.

YAY! That's wonderful Marie! So glad you tried it and it worked for you! Like magic, isn't it ? 😀 Enjoy that beautiful bathroom and kitchen!!
What is the cleaning product ???????
This absolutely works, thank you I just tried it.
Wonderful! thank you for the feedback
Do you know the name of the cleaner?
🎉toilet bowl cleaners do a number on your Chrome fixtures and drain covers.
It also can damage fiberglass.
So be careful what your using it on.
Test a small spot first.
Testing first is always a great idea, thanks for the reminder.
Yes, we have Harpic toilet cleaner in the UK which is about 10% HCl. I had a cleaner decide for themself to use it diluted around the bathroom and it etched the chrome off the basin taps. Be very careful.
It will eat the drain too
Try using CLR & a little Dawn on the shower curtain. Tub & marble looks great 👍🏾
Ok thanks for the suggestion. I tried CLR on the tub for the rust, but didn't work.
Lemon juice removes rust stains. Let it soak for awhile.
This worked for me! Thanks!
Great! Thanks for follow up!
Use this with magic eraser. I have noticed that they changed the Works toilet bowl cleaner and it doesn’t work nearly as well as it used to.
I believe they have come out with different formulas and different ingredients. That's why I tell my viewers to use the link in the description for the exact one because many bottles look alike.
Correct... there's the Works standard toilet cleaner which won't remove rust and there's the high acid version which will remove rust. Just can't get the high acid one on anything steel.
Thanks for the video. It helped a lot
You're very welcome. Glad you found it helpful!
Bar keepers friend works great! It won’t ruin finish. You can even use it on stainless steel
I love Bar Keepers for stainless. But didn't work for me on the rust stains.
I use the scrub brush to just move it around to cover everything. But I also use the Lysol toilet bowl cleaner
Thanks for the tips
I would try Barkeeper's Friend powder and green scrubby on the tub around the drain.
That's a good suggestion. I love that stuff for our kitchen sink.
Good advice... Bar Keepers is slightly acidic, so it works great on rust.
Plug that drain then put that cleaner soak that drain rust👍🏻 you did a very good job on it💯
Thanks for the suggestion Raymond. The cleaner is very abrasive and I think it would damage the drain plug. As of now, the ring is still there!
Pour it undiluted on a rag or just barely moistened sponge and swab the wall. Give it time - it's a chemical reaction. I think the tile might be at least partly unglazed so removal there will be an issue different from the tub.
Thanks for your input
Thank u helped so much
Hi Ginny, so glad it helped you.
If you have a water heater tank… and this is the water coming out… you may need to purge the tank. Should be done approx once yearly. Iron particles build up in the bottom.
Thanks for the tip!
Also replace the sacrificial anode. It's probably long dissolved.
Thank 4 this hack
You are welcome
Thank you all.
A soft sponge would likely help so that you don’t have to use so much product for spotty results. It would also likely be less abrasive on the marble.
Yes it would. A bottle would help too to use less product and cover more area. Thanks for your tip
Which product was used? My bathtub and toilet need a cleaning solution like this
HI Kim, I linked the exact product in the description. The manufacturer makes several products but only a few have the active ingredient that removes the rust....I have found.
Did you use another product with the works? When you squirt it on the walls it appears to foam up but not when you squirt it in the tub itself.
No I did not use any other product. Foaming vs non foaming maybe had to do with the different surfaces and how it reacted is my guess.
Agree
Thanks for visiting Rosalind
How was the smell of the product? Was it strong?
To be honest, I don't remember, so that tells me no. I didn't notice a strong smell. But I do suggest wearing a mask and goggles to protect yourself.
This is one beautiful mom.(pretty also) It seems though her daughter couldn't (wouldn't ?) find the time to give her toilet and bath a good scrub now and then. I too would be tempted to wait till my mother would see it.
Don't forget to (beside using gloves)wear eye protection when using such strong cleaning agents. When brushing spray might reach your eyes.
After a shower it's a small task to wipe away soap deposits from the shower or bath wall. To prevent it from ever becoming like this.
This is not only rust but a mix of soap residue and calcium due to 'hard water" that demands regular cleaning.
Your daughter would be better served with porcelain tiles, which are easier to clean. Marble is slightly porous and might soak up deposits.
Removing water from the toilet bowl is easy by using a small *_plastic_* cup ,throw it in a bucket so you can use that water again for flushing the rest of the cleaned residue.
Aw thanks. Unfortunately, the hard water stains on contact and even scrubbing couldn't get it off. I tried and my cleaners tried...Good point about eye protection, this formula is strong! Absolutely porcelain tiles would be easier to clean, I didn't install marble but do love the look!
Be careful with toilet bowl cleaners, as some have lye in them, which is a strong acid. Also, try applying the product liberally on a sponge and wipe the surfaces, keeping them wet. You will use much less product. Plug the drain to capture the solution to reuse. Another product that works at least as well is called Iron Out. It comes in a spray and a powder. You wont use as much if you use the spray, but I add a few Tsp's of the powder to my toilet tank (not the bowl) and let it work for a few hours to remove rust. You can control the strength by using the powder. Cheers
Thank you for the tips!
I have always used toilet bowl cleaner on our iron tub, but we just got a new acrylic tub and the manufacturer said not to use it. I'm trying some of the things they suggest, but I am not hopeful.
@@anissaferringer4965 Yes be very careful. I would go by what the manufacturer suggests.
on well water and removed a failed water softener with an ispring spin down sediment filter as well as a GE carbon filter and helped a ton. no softener right now but for rust sand and sediment it worked. just a thought for anyone
Thanks for the tip Tony
So question is the iron kinda sticky? My kids bathroom toilet keep getting this brown sticky stuff at the bottom of the toilet and nothing is getting rid of it that I've tried!!! None of our other toilets are doing this. We don't have a water softener
Do your kids have a habit of not remembering to flush? That causes staining too I've noticed
buy iron out..available home depot or hardware stores..9 the jug not the spray..dump it in and let it sit a few hours then scrub..it should knock it out
you can try using pumice stones for this. the rectangular kind. make sure it’s wet, not dry.
A flat screwdriver with a real long handle will chip it off.
What cleaner did you use
I linked the exact one in the description.
What did you use? What is the product? Please let me know please..thanks
The exact product is linked above in the description
I used to us The Works toilet bowl cleaner years ago but they changed the formula in the last few years.
Right, but they do still sell a product that contains the special ingredient that removes rust and I linked that exact product in the description. But you are right, now they sell one that does not contain the rust removing ingredient.

Can these products be used on a fiberglass tub ?
HI Paulette, I'm not sure. I would test a small area first and read the bottle carefully before trying any product.
We just moved to my grandmas old home and there’s a well here. The water smells like rust and now my tubs, sinks and toilets have rust strains. It sooo gross to me!!!! Does anyone know why my water is doing this or how I can fix it?
Hi Tiffany, your grandmothers home has hard water. Installing a home softener will eliminate the rust stains and improve the overall quality of your water. Ours was broken when this happened to our tubs and sinks but since then, we have installed a new system for the whole home and no more rust stains.
I did not know Works got rid of Rust!
Depends on which one you get ;) Not all do
@@HappyHauteHome so dollar store version doesn't remove rust?
@@Katiekay. I'm not sure which version of the cleaner is sold in dollar stores.
If it says ‘CLASSIC’ formula on the bottle …it won’t work.

Hi Shernell, glad you like the video!
I like to use the Clorox bleach toilet bowl cleaner
Haven't tried that one on rust, good to know.
Como se llama el producto?
El producto exacto está vinculado en la descripción.
whink rust remover works that good too
Yes I have used that as well for my sinks.
That’s not rust. It’s mineral deposit from hard water in your area, and not cleaning on a regular basis. Don’t know how your daughter could shower in such a nasty shower. This product is amazing!!👍👍
The shower was cleaned on a regular basis, we just couldn't find a product that worked to remove the stains until I tried this one...
😂 relate
Those who know....know...;)
Need to be aware the toilet bowl cleaner on dry porcelain can etch the porcelain. 😮
It was intended to be used on toilet bowls. Many TB cleaners manufacturers' state on the bottle to not leave on more than 15 minutes.
Yes a good idea to check an area before applying. This stuff comes off right away, so no need to leave on any longer.
CLR
CLR didn't work for me.
@@HappyHauteHome with a stainless steel scrubber
I accidentally poured vinegar straight on my facet and it left what I'd call burn marks? Anyone know how to get those out?
Yikes. It most likely removed the polish on the faucet...a professional may be able to restore it back but I don't know of any hacks to do so, sorry.
What is the name of the product you are using
The exact product is linked in the description. Its called the Works, but there are many different ones so use the one I linked to make sure it has the ingredient in it to remove the rust.
What is the name of the solution you are using
The link is in the description, called the works. But it is a specific type to eleminate rust stains
Came out pretty good but I think you would have gotten better coverage if you put it in a spray bottle
Yea I can try that next time.
What? You think that comes from the hot water tank bottom rust?
Hi the rust color comes from hard water
Wait till you see how that crome looks, it will tarnish it!!!!!!!!!
It did remove the shiny layer on the fixture, yes.
What is the name of product?
Called the works and the exact product is linked in the description. The manufacturer makes other similar looking cleaners but don't contain the ingredient to remove the rust.
So you basically wash with rust water the curtain stain was from opening and closing eww I hope you fix what ever broke
We now have a water softener system, so no more rust stains!
LySol lime and rust can be used
Ok thanks
Maybe put it on sponges & soak on the areas not getting removed
That's a good idea, thanks for the suggestion
Great video but you should make your daughter clean it!!
Ha! Great idea! 😀
The Works is good stuff but you have to be really careful with it. It's good you're wearing gloves. I got it on an old pair of shorts and it ate right through them.
Yes definitely need to take precautions when using. I recommend using a mask too.
Lay paper towels around the area and soak them with the works.
That's a good idea, will that keep the solution from running?
did it comeback?
No it did not but that is because we installed a new full home water softener system. Our old one had broke.
@HappyHauteHome thank you for commenting. Ok, I'm a try the chemicals you used.
I like to know the name of the chemical product that she’s using

Dollar General has a generic product for rust....it's in a green spray bottle.....takes seconds to remove rust in my sink.
Great tip, thanks.
Just buy rust out spray it and wipe it off but idk about marble

that stuff eats away at the grout!
You need to be very careful with it and wash it down soon after using.
THe name of the cleaning product she's using is "THE WORKS."
It's not quite that simple. Yes it is but they have several products with different ingredients. Don't want to confuse anyone.
You never said what cleaner you used.?
Hi Dara, the link to the exact product is in the description. The manufacturer makes similar products some with and some without the active ingredient...so I linked the exact one. Hope that helps.
What is that cleaner??
Hi Bruce, I linked the exact cleaner in the description box
Thank you very much!!
I use Lysol toilet bowl cleaner. All that yellow and rust ..gone withiin minutes.
Interesting...ok
Uh, scrubbing does help. It takes effort. I’ve done professional house keeping for 6 years in a town that has nothing but hard water. Putting CLR or toilet bowl cleaner on and letting it sit for about 5 minutes and scrub THEN rinse.
When using CLR I guess you have to scrub. I tried it and it didn't work for me...maybe I wasn't scrubbing hard enough!
So what's the name of the product you are using? You never said the name.
It's called The Works. Check the link in the description for the exact one, I didn't name the product because there are other products in the same line with a similar name but don't contain the ingredient to remove the rust stain.
Hydrogen peroxide works without scrubbing too. Just not sure about the marble.
Good tip thanks
Peroxide is the active component
Ok good to know.
Try using comet with bleach
Haven't tried that either, thanks
I would be concerned that that cleaner would ruin the grout and corrode the metal drain parts over time.
Yes I agree with you Bill. Best to keep the cleaner away from those parts as much as possible.
$10 a bottle? I thought Dollar Tree sells this product.
Not sure if it does or not, give it a try.
It does,at least in my neck of the wood.
Is that toilet bowl cleaner As you did not say
Yes it is
I’ve cleaned many tubs with all sorts of harsh chemicals and never has a stain just rinsed off soooo easily. Make you wonder if that stain was just real or fake just to make a video. Very suspicious that she doesn’t say the product since this is supposed to be a tutorial video. On a side note, I’ve used Alberto V05 (clear kind not the creamy stuff, see thru) and it works great. Just use the entire bottle, pour it in, smear it all over and let it sit overnight, longer is better. Then rinse and scrub and it gets most or all of the body oil black stains out.
The stain is definitely not fake. The manufacturer makes several products with same name so I linked the exact product in the description so as not to confuse anyone
Good bleach does exactly the same thing
I tried bleach it didn't work for me.
I just tried this with The Works and it blistered off a section of my tub's finish. DO NOT USE!!!!!!
Oh no! The cleaner definitely must be used with caution. It's important to rinse off quickly as it is a strong cleaner. Perhaps it sat too long?
Bummer. It’s worked great in my tub for years now.
DON'T USE TOILET BOWL CLEANER ON AN ENAMELED TUB! I did that when I was a child and 50 years later, you can see where the toilet bowl cleaner ate off the enamel. I have the same problem as you and I usde the clean sponge mop with dawn. That only took off the soap scum. Then I used white vinegar on the sponge mop. It took almost all of it off. So that's what you use and it's non toxic.
I guess the enamel could naturally peel off after 50 years...right? Not saying the cleaner didn't do it, not sure.. but normal wear and tear could also be the cause.
You can permanently damage your fixtures and if you have shower glass or a an aluminum framed shower doors it will deteriorate that adhesive. Please use the proper products so you dont ruin the other parts of your shower. FYI they make products for this: Iron Out, Barkeepers Friend, and CLR are better options. As a professional cleaner I see this hack ruin so many things, at least once a month I see this issue. Sure, toilet bowl cleaner works but why do it? Not worth it
I completely agree to try non abrasive products first, but when they don't work, stronger substances are needed.
Hi all. I tried this in my shower and ruined the tile. I’m so upset. Any ideas on how to fix it?? I would NOT recommend this product in your shower!!!
Hi Denise, you can hire a tile company to restore the polish that was removed. I'm sorry your tile was damaged but I was very clear about the risks involved.
CLR & IRON OUT do not work. I’ve tried them over the last 30 years. The Works…WORKS ! As long as it doesn’t say ‘classic’ on the bottle.
@@belladaniella2003 I tried CLR myself and no it didn't work for me either.
Try peroxide
Does it get out rust stains? I have tried it on other stains with disappointing results.
@@HappyHauteHome I do tub repairs for a living I use bar keepers and drill with a brush for rust stains
@@billycollinsworth-ih4sp Thanks. Good to know about other options that work.
Pour the stuff in a spray bottle
Definitely worth trying...the cleaner is rather thick....
I would of put the stopper in the tub to keep it from going down the drain and use it to scrub the rest of the tub
That is a good idea too. I was trying to avoid keeping it in the tub for too long, as I didn’t know how the tub would handle the chemicals.
It removes soap scum also I presume??
I would think so, it's pretty strong.
@@HappyHauteHome thank you!
Never use an acidic solution on marble or any other natural stone. This includes vinegar.
Yes, etching is definitely a risk with anything acidic.

@@maildoe92 Yes it is linked in the description
That looks like hard water stains not rust
Hard water stains appear as a chalky white residue. When the hard water comes in contact with metal surfaces, the chemical reaction forms rust buildup.
Seems like the works has bleach in it.
Some of their products do yes, not sure if they all do.
Waste of time watching. Don’t no the name of the product.
I linked the exact product in the description to avoid any confusion with similar products that the manufacturer makes - the similar products do not remove rust stains...that is why I chose to do it the way I did.
This isn't rust it's just ditry
This is 100% staining from hard water. The rust in the water is causing the staining.
This is absolutely normal for well water with high TDS. It's a pain to deal with. Wish our water was naturally softer, but it is, what it is!
CAREFUL about putting it on metals It can turn them black and ruin the metal. I cringed so hard when she squirted the metal fixtures.
Yes the solution can definitely strip the shine off the metal for sure
You have some serious hard water.
Right!? The softener was broken, as soon as we repaired it, the problem was resolved.
