@@lucifernebulae you know dude, I discovered the same thing. No offense to Phixfox who is far more deliberate (slow) in playthrough or Khelbenscointv who plays rapidly and glosses over bits of gameplay. I recall playing this like Khelbenscointv back in 1997, but I’ve landed here. It’s perfectly paced. ✌🏾❤️👾

While Heroes 3 is the best of the series, watching your Heroes 2 gameplay is making me reconsider my previous statement.

I am truly mad not more people watch your videos Homm is my childhood and its one of the best games i’ve ever played and when i watch you play this it gives me good memories of just sitting on my chair and playing this when i was little i remember how bad i always was at the game but i still played again and again thank you for these videos i truly appreciate them.

i kind of liked the mine spells from heroes 2 that you dont get in 3 setting elemental guards or haunting mines with ghosts, i know you can set your own troops to guard in 3 but having disposable troops just for defending resources is way better
Freeman's Foundry (Swords, Pikes, Golems) and Hill Fort (Orcs, Dwarfs, Ogres) are base game features, so don't feel cheesy to use them :)
Stables were added in the addon (Cavalry).

Looking at this map it seems set up for diplomacy. Maybe you're purposely not using it. Lots of groups of similar creatures, druids, elves, litches, dwarves.
Your main group should drop a stack so that creatures have the opportunity to join.
That stack of gargoyles would be very useful to split & block the very fast archers on the map.
Just seems like the main resource on this map are the creatures guarding things.

True, could just make a group to burn through the archers if not recruiting them. A couple champions to cast first & red dragons split 2,2,1. They should be able to tank all those archer groups easily. Leaves knight troops for 1 hero group & a titan based group in a few turns.

When you're importing a custom map into the gog version of HOMM2 where do you place the map? I remembered back in the day there was just a folder with all of the maps but for this version I cannot find it

BESTIFUL GAME, fantasy fables in videogame.
Keeping the Golden Bow on a hero with archery skill is useless as the skill has the same effect btw. Not sure from which level, but advanced should be enough already. It's a hidden trait not listed on the skill.
Champions are always so much weaker than I think they are.
I find it weird that external dwellings stock up units in HommII but not HommIII. Makes me think it was deliberate rather than an oversight, but I'm not sure why they would do it.

How does turn order work in hmm2? I've only played hmm3, in your battle in the Dragon City, the rocs go towards the end of the round, but are able to cover the whole field.
Same as in HoMM3 - the only difference is that flying creatures in HoMM2 can move anywhere on the battlefield and aren't limited by their speed
