I want to be a multi instrumentalist. After electric guitar I wanna learn upright bass, bass, cello, clarinet and more of trumpet and electric guitar. It's a lot of money for those things, but when I'm an adult I'm willing to work hard and pay for it
This upcoming school year i'm gonna start learning cello. I am super excidet about it and since i have still to wait like 3 weeks, i watch a bunch of cello tutorials and that stuff. I want to come prepared for my first lesson, and this video was the most useful (in my opinion) yet, so i watch it all the time. Thank you for taking your time to teach us how to start learning!
Thanks! I tried it and I was pretty good (for the first time), plus I loved the sound so I can't wait too play it. I feel bad for you, but maybe you could play the cello at some point.
This helps so much I used to play the cello when I was in elementary school but I had to stop since I couldn’t afford a cello and since then I am now a high school student and I want to finally be able to buy my very own cello and start back up again this is such a helpful video
An entry level cello can start from 300$ which i think is quiet affordable, obviously the quality is just decent and sometimes need little things to ne fixed to make it playable, but is always a first step, once you start learning how to play it and fine your skill you can always save money for a decent one (I know I come years late and I hope meanwhile you already had your hands and bow on a cello)
I came here because I had a curious interest in how a cello is played. I play guitar and it's not easy to learn at first. But the guitar is more obvious due to having frets so you know exactly where to press down to get a specific note. For a classic string instrument such as violin, cello, viola and double bass... There are no frets and I admire the skill it must take and patience to truly know the entire workings and potential notes and tones to get out of your instrument by sheer playing by ear and feeling for the notes.
Very helpful! I've been playing the violin for 2 years, and decided it was time for a challenge! Thank you for helping me learn how to play the cello!!
@@-insertnamehere-2512 of course not, you don't have to give up anything as long as you practice violin at least once a week to refresh your memory and yes I am still playing cello and violin
Hello can I ask you a favour ( as a left-hander)can you play your cello on your right shoulder with your with hand in minus 1st position on the C string and tell me if it touches the pegs please. I cannot play the tradition way and want to know befrore I purchase.Thank you.
Violin player here! Hi guys!!! I'm getting a cello and attempting to self teach this Christmas! So excited 😊 The cello has such a beautiful tone! Any advice anyone can give for beginners I'd greatly appreciate! 💖
I would recommend to remember Bow hand Keep thinking that your arm is very relaxed(maybe more than when you play violin) and you move not just your hand but whole arm. Of course when you play very quickly your wrist will help but basically remember the whole arm. Then you get better sound and you arm doesn´t get tired so easily. Left hand Keep your thumb and second finger "together". It is easier to reach lower first or upper fourth finger when needed. I am a cello teacher(professional) and these two things are what I try to teach very early stage to my pupils.
Same I’m gonna be a 6th grader soon and I wanted to be in orchestra so I said I wanted to play Bass at first but now my mom rented out a cello for me 🙂😊
I'm in 7th grade and really want to start playing the cello but I am a little scared to tell my parents. In 4th grade I played the trumpet but stopped because the instructor was really rude. I'm scared that my parents won't take me seriously :(

The Christmas present I'm going to ask for is a cello rental. I'm a pianist, and play the baritone horn as well. Took violin lessons for a bit, so I'm a little familiar with a stringed instrument, and have always liked the sound of the cello.

Excellent excellent.
Time to practice that scale until my roommates kick me out. Then practice it some more.
I just want to know what's the difference between a violin and a cello (except the size)
The violin can play higher pitches while the cello can reach lower pitches. I prefer the cello because the violin's pitch herts my ears.
I think the cello's has a deeper sound while violin is more like a tenor range.
The violins' strings are, from highest to lowest, E, A, D, and G while the cellos' strings are, from highest to lowest, A, D, G, and C. The cello needs an end pin, or a sharp stick a the bottom to stabilize while playing, whereas the violin is placed underneath the chin to stabilize.
