    Fantastic playing, phenomenal tones, and I can tell that’s a really great playing and well set up guitar - no fret buzz at all

    Any idea what peddle would give you that rain drop like sound he gets on "shine on you crazy diamond. ?? Love that sound!! Good job by the way

    You can get a prewired pickguard assembly for just above $300. I believe the just the pickups are around $200 and the bridge pickup, by itself is $79. The single pickup comes with a push/push pot to switch the coil tap option. A bargain and I have both the Assembly and the single bridge pickup in my two Strats.

    It sounds really good. Especially during the second part of the video.

    Hey Bjorn, I have been asking questions in relation to pedals and amps.
    I have decided to start from the beginning, with pickups, instead of wasting time with trying to change amp tone with pedals.
    Right now, what is your best recommended set of strat pickups for the black strat tones ? thanks for your help, cheers

    How are these pickups in comparison to the Dover pickups? Thanks for the video!

      These have higher output. The neck and middle are slightly hotter, while the bridge has considerably more output and mid range compared to the Dovers.

      I haven't tried the Dovers. Just based on specs.

    I am thinking about buying these. Are they noiseless or if not how much hum is there?

    • @gilmourishofficial
      @gilmourishofficial  8 лет назад +2

      +Michael Stewart They are not noiseless. They're passive vintage style single coils. They're very quiet but single coils by nature, will pick up interference and hum so it depends on how much noise you got in your rig and environment.

    I was doing some research to replace my neck and middle pickups. From your latest videos it seems you kept only neck and middle of this set, and you preferred the SSL-5. Is that right? Or this one is a different set? If not, why you kept the SSL?
    I'm trying to decide if buying the Echoes set or the 69 set: since I already have the SSL-5 I could go for the 69...what do you think?
    Thanks.

      This is a different guitar. On my black Stratocaster I have neck and middle Voodoo 69 and a SSL5 in the bridge. Basically the same setup only the Echoes has the tap bridge for either SSL5 or Voodoo 69.

    David used his volume potentiometer to put more output when he wants, I think is the same thing with that push pot by the way pickups sounds beautiful

    • @tonihei86
      @tonihei86 10 лет назад +2

      Of course David used the volume pot in order to set the voume, that's what it's there for. But this one works a bit differently. Before the album Animals, David played Fender Custom Shop 69 single coils which had a fairly low output (due to fewer windings of wire on the coil). From Animals on, his guitar featured a Seymour Duncan SSL-5 in the bridge position, which has higher output. So the pull-push poit is not really about adjusting the volume, but more or less simulates changing the bridge pickup in order to make it posible to have both tones at hand, the pre- and the post-Animals-sound.
