Dominique let you through (her/his) gate ! You are now on the inside (club). Fantastic views side and directly underneath Dominique and viaduct. Your comments and commentary are spot on. Thank you ! And...our children's children will thank you and HS2 project and workers for this vital record. This is the state of the art in railway engineering. Fantastic ! The lines, the symmetry, are elegant...the rock skipping the pond thing...very nice, really amazing.
Ha ha! I pity the poor student in 2124 who tries to get a Ph.D. out of all this kerfuffle! But hopefully he or she will get a few laughs! Maybe by then the mummified remains of Jack, the desperate mouse, will be the first prize at the Atlanta Masters! Well the origin of The Ashes is just as obscure....!
SHE/HE is moving at a fantastic rate. not long to go now. it really is a very beautiful design and has blended and fitted into the background fantastically. i was up at Harefield , AND THE VIEW FROM THERE IS INSPIRING. there is a sleek grey line in the distance. and those orange things ontop of the pier are bearings, onto which the viaduct sits. an amazing view Peter, and , The ' I JUST DON'T KNOW' ' .
@@666izzy great going. I really hope I can ride it one day. Love trains but have not been on any >100mph high-speed (I'm across the larger pond), have only been on US East coast Amtraks. On the US West coast the diesel trains only run maybe 80mph maximum. Perhaps with future electric SMR plants going in UK (40 each new Xe-100 reactors) total across UK with 3.2GWe there will be excellent electrification in UK and later also built in US. Hopefully we can all find the finance and get there soon.
@@CRIMSONANT1 well sir, you are entitled to your opinion. the railways are already supported by approx £55m per day. the roads are full, the railways are full. all of our old infrastructure was once a scar , but are now areas of biodiversity. this railway is already obsolete. but could we afford maglev? the cost, in relation to the time scale, of the UK GDP , is such a small sum in comparison.
A delight and delectations on a wonderful visit and video, Peter... you are a Rock..🤣🤣.... The warning pulses were coming from the small auxiliary lifting hoist, used to move about materials and tools... Thank you, I'm working on my next video, 'How Dominique Works'.....
This is amazing that you can see underneath again, I will be down there tomorrow (Sunday 14th) to take a look at it too. It does look very interesting and I want to look for myself
please see this PWI presentation which may have details "UK’s longest rail viaduct - HS2 Colne Valley Viaduct - Marwan El Jamous, Frederic Turlier" for fast work see SIMONC his "HS2 COLNE VALLEY VIADUCT TIME LAPSE" for bright music see SIMONC has "HS2 COLNE VALLEY VIADUCT, BIT ON THE LORRY" These are all fantastic views and topics.
Hi Carlos, I will try, but have been out all day filming (not HS2), and will be posting some of them tomorrow, all being well. I appreciate the advice and ideas!
@@Carlos-im3hnSIMONE certainly has great taste in music, a dry sense of humour and, along with cuemaster, provides superb footage of this part of the project.
Beautiful, Peter. The Viaduct doesn't look too bad either. I believe Dominique is 140 metres long, which would take a world class athlete on steroids about 14 seconds to sprint along before he plunged into Harefield No.2. It's interesting to see the mid-arch PolyFilla joint. Someone, Stephen Walker I think, said they have a reusable steel former to contain the filla within the profile of the viaduct but he, like myself, wasn't sure about how they deal with the PolyFillaring of the internal space, which has walkways, cable conduits etc to be 'made good'. Perhaps HS2 will pipe up and tell us how it is done. Keep 'em coming ...
Aw shucks , you are too kind, Dave! Who needs trains, when we can get world class athletes! And they can feed the ducks, and Mouse, the Jack Russell if he turns up (he must be quite thin by now)!

Something I read reckoned they'll get quicker as they get more familiar with using Dominique.

This is infrastructure done right! If this was the 1970’s it would just be a concrete slab.

It would be great to capture the moment when Dominique moves forward; interesting to see how it achieves that.
Steve Walker captured it, but I don't know which video.
