This is soooooooo good. I can't stop listening to this. I am 72 and still enjoying all this music from my past, including this one. My body may be getting old but still young at heart.😀👍❤
I'm the same age. Just wish I could pull off those harmonica licks.
Same here at 75 we’re still on the road…
this is outrageous..... fuck yah, nobody's feeling old...same eyes same brain.💜
Parece que estou longe de Vocês , resido em outro continente , mas penso igual .
Am right there with You am 68
Canned Heat. I haven't heard the name in decades! Got to love the internet for preserving timeless historic assets like this rendition.
Just so you know the drummer is original member and the guys have been doing it for many years too,,
a whole time when the world was much better than today.👍👍
Except not even close. I'm guessing you grew up white? Yeah the music was better but that's about it.
Mayberry was a fictional TV set & did NOT exist in reality...
Time was...
You can say that again man 🥲🇬🇧❤🇺🇸
Vietnam war, LA riots, drug overdoses, assassinations,
Not hardly
1971 Dallas, canned heat stagehands flung hundreds of orange frisbees to the crowd during this song. What a great time to grow up in. Thanks for the memories !
I saw them in the college town of Ellensburg, WA right around the same time (Joel Scott Hill was with them then) and the stagehands did the same thing. Frisbees flyin' over our heads.
1971 Philadelphia spectrum ❤
When music was actually music. Thank God I lived to see and experience this.
I can hear Hite, Wilson and the other members that have passed on. Well done ...
Can't feckin believe it, started listening to these guys in the sixties, saw them at the Orlando Sports Arena nobody could afford the seats in front of the stage so the band started an insurrection and told everyone to come down out of the bleachers. Security went ape for about 5min. Then just went away. Canned Heat knew how to put the boogie on.
Wow this band and songs kept me going on flights for many years to Africa and beyond in extreme conditions. For ever young guys please keep keepin it on kick ass again and again. A flower in my youth guys . Thanks .
These old hippies are timeless!
I'm 65, raised in Woodland Hills, and spent my teen years partying in Topanga. This is like home to me❤️
I live in WH and the Bass player lives across the street. Up in the hills near dirt Mulholland.
His name is Rick. They are going on tour in Europe soon where they are much more popular. Then Australia.
These bands didnt need video clips, just did their great thing. Still loving it. Woodstock heroes!!
RIP Alan Wilson. Died far to early and 1 of the 27 INC Joplin and Hendix within weeks of each other and whome all played Woodstock.
Don't forget the bear, aka Robert Hite 2 - 26 - 1943 to 4 - 5 - 1983 38 years old and co - lead vocalists... RIP 🙏 the bear.
Unlike quite a few oldies ( I’m one myself ) these boys are still spot on with their rendition so many years later - congratulations very well done ,
There's a place in the space time continuum where it is forever 1969 🎸🎸
Still a fave after all these years. They are one of the most underrated bands.
Sounds as good as it did back in the day.
Going Up The Country was the perfect theme for the Woodstock movie. I saw them in Seattle when they opened for The Doors I believe. Nice they are still at it.
Seeing The Doors!? Lucky you!🌿🕊👌
This song --everything about the song--fully captures the feelings of joy, freedom, expectation, adventure, loss, and loneliness of hitting the open road! Caught Canned Heat in the 60's in Palm Springs. Listen to them while tooling the desert in my camper van in the present.
Loved The Sixties. I was around in the 1950s too. I’m 74 Bringing back memories listening to these guys
This song has the haunting primordial drone, almost a didgeridoo backing it up, pretty much on one note throughout.
It's very simple, but has great depth and power. A great song.
Yes the "Drone" it was my ride at night song. Zooming down the highway the motor, wind and this song.
No offense but you have the wrong (sub) continent and the wrong culture. The instrument is a tambura. This has been chronicled pretty heavily throughout the years. To end on a different note: yes, it's a great song. I never tire of it. I play it myself at shows.
After All These Years these Old Boys Still gots it.
They all look well too. 🙏🏼♥️🕊
Yes and not one is from the original line up of whom 3 are dead
@@user-vn1qx1hy2wYeah - was waiting for someone to say that.
@@user-vn1qx1hy2woriginal drummer. Vito……
Another old rocker here that still considers this a must have part of any music collection, timeless groovin' tunes!
All my MEMORIES IN WOODSTOCK WITH CANNED HEAT
So great to hear you guys after all these years ...im 72 years old now and still remember when i first heard this track ...sounds just like yesterday !! 🙏😊❤
3:47 Hi! I am 73 and saw the original Canned Heat in Rome in 1970....
Blind Owl, The Bear, Fito, Sunflower and The Mole in the flash....5:38
all long dead @@mariocuffaro4848
@@mariocuffaro4848 you are very lucky !! I was only 5 in 1970 but Jew them from the radio station!
Great job guys !!!...kudos to the harp player he played some nice licks up and down the harp!..👍
I was the doorman when they played at the Buffalo Tavern in Ballard, WA in 1982
Greetings from Uptown.
I Remember when this song first came out I was floating on L.S.D.
Glad those days are over
In 1979 they came to Guadalajara and i recorded a cassette tape that i still had, owesome❤
Man they sound just as good now as way back when. I think this is the best song the put out instrumentaly and vocals.
👍👍😍
Underrated but still one of the best. ROCK ON!
Was fortunate to see these guys at our N.Michigan, Blissfest. Awsome and fun show! They said they enjoyed our Blissfest more than when they played at Woodstock 😊
Brings back old memories of the good old days it’s great to see it
They had a sound like No-one else. Instantly recognizable... Great as Ever.
None of the original band , don’t have the sound .
Fantastic . I love to see the “old “ bands and musicians still at it. [ sadly, we’ve lost so many, especially the past year or so😢].
KEEP ROCKING ‼️
📻🙂
it's true
absolutely, stonking, fantastico... i remember when this first came out, sounds just as great today... totally wonderful to see them again
35 years ago i was travelling in Germany in winter time...snow was almost 50 cm high...in a 2cv Citroen car and 5 crazy students on board....and the driver 12h midnight played on cassette this jewel....that snowy night silence was a must...we were travelling like sardines in that small car....great souvenirs. Then years later i saw them on stage and met fito de la parra the drummer who signed me a cd
Fito is super cool.
I was born in the 60s I love it man.i am 63 years old. I still love it. Best music ever.
I’m glad I ran across this video because it sure made me happy to hear that song again……hear that song again 😀
What a performance. thanks so much. you can't go wrong when you see the Dancing Bear on Jimmy's cap.😎
American rock royalty”. Sounding fab!

8 TRACK TAPE DECK IN MY CAR.
PLAYING THIS ABOUT A
1000 TIMES.❤❤❤❤
Lots of 8 track memories in a 64 chevy. AM radio and a reverb.
@@davezul4396 I hear your brother those were the great days they really were. To me it is amazing that we did all that and the kids today don't even want to buy a car they don't even want to driver's license and they want to stay at home and live with Mommy. I couldn't wait to get in my car with my girlfriend and go all night long like the song says!
@@erickriebel4366 I'm sorry you have such misconceptions about young people. I know a ton of them, and they're a hell of a lot better than you describe them. And I'm 74
@@randyjimmiejamesbowles I call it the way I see it and I'm sorry that you don't see what I'm seeing and I don't even care about that. I'm seeing lots and lots of young people that don't want a car they don't want to leave their parents and they don't want to go out in the world and I am seeing that and I've been seeing that and I've run businesses and I've had to hire them as far as your age goes that's got nothing to do with your experience level run a grocery store and higher about 100 people and see what you get and you will see. They don't even want to graduate from high school.
I remember seeing the lineup of The Mole, Adolfo De La Para, Henry Vestine James Thornbury and a keyboard player.... back in the 80's..... in Australia.
Oh yeah!! Bloody Brilliant!!....Rock on, you "ol Dudes...and we will Rock with you...😎✌❤
Was waren das für geile Zeiten!!😊😊
j'ai 72 ans ...et je suis né à la musique avec ce morceau et quelques autres de la même époque ...et toujours aussi accro !MERCI!!!
The drummers face at about 2:20 days it all. I remember this from when I was ‘ quite young ‘ I was 8 in 1969.
The drummer??? Man, that is the one and only Fito de la Parra, long, long, long time leader of Canned Heat.
Just awesome!! As a harmonica player I can appreciate harmonica the most.
Always my favorite, love that mouth harp keep on keeping on
Love that harp player. Band has great sound.
Rock on, rothers. I'm an old Punker, approaching sixty. Gone soft and play blues.
Yes,the same,70, and still love this song, best time,60/70.
Always loved Canned Heat's sound!
Dale Spaulding on the Harp, enjoyed seeing him and Lucas play the local clubs in and around Long Beach for several years🎶🎼
All of the originals are long gone.
Fito de la Parra, one of grestest drummer ever, mexican proud
A Classic then, a CLASSIC now!
Took me straight back to those good old days. Great times, shame we have to grow up, well in body still got a young mind. And the youngsters think it hasn't been done before.🤣🤣🤣
Awsome harmonica
That is one very impressive performance for guys of that age, or really for guys of ANY age!
Saw The Heat in '68 open for The Doors at LB State gymnasium. The Heat has been very underrated
Sweet! They sound great! Takes me back. 😎
Superb!! Kim Wilson is legend.Pozdrav iz Srbije.Great band!!!
Such a great band great music value from the past to present 🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁 life goes on lucky enough to hear from them all
Special thanks to Fito for holding the whole vibe together all these years - a great compliment to all those from the band who have passed.
Klingt noch genauso gut wie damals. Großartig
Blues , so simple, so cool.
Absolutely brilliant!
Oh I love em so very much God bless you all you still rocking ❤❤❤❤👍🖐️🎸🎸🎼🥁
It was a great time to be alive.
Dude it was 2023
@@randyjimmiejamesbowles when “on the road again” came out, it was 1968, dude.
I've seen them live back in the 80's.
Great stuff!
Glad they're still going.....
The first time I travelled , off in the rain an snow….takes me back. ❤️
OUT in the rain and snow...
Oh that was just wonderful, I listen and watch the old videos then to my surprise this, came up absolutely wonderful, I love it, they still sound realy brilliant well done guys
OMG, CANNED HEAT SOUNDS SO GOOD STILL.REMEMBER THEMS ON PLAYING IN WOODSTOCK 1969. WAS 15 YEARS OLD.WE HAD A LOT OF GOOD AND BAD THINGS THAT YEAR.
Wow, these guys are playing and still sound great....
That bluesy harp, throbbing rhythm, & lyric images will still haunt you today.
Bin 70 bei der Musik kommen so viele Erinnerungen hoch 😊❤
Awesome musicians, love them.
Never gets tired 😊👍
This took me back to England in the 70s when the travelling Fair and Amusements set up near my house. They played this continuously till late into the night. Good memories.
What a great find today!! I used to see them a lot in the Detroit area late 60's
Still cool sound.
The world was a different kind of world back when this song came out and listening to it in this video yes it's as cool now as it was back then 👍
What a great band in their time
Unfortunately Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson, the uniquely sweet solo voice in the original version died way too young from an all to common scourge of those times. "On September 3, 1970, Wilson was found dead in his sleeping bag on the hillside behind Hite's Topanga Canyon home where he often slept. He was 27 years old. An autopsy identified his manner and cause of death as accidental acute barbiturate intoxication.
Awesome!!!❤
Good stuff when living was fun
I guess I'm just lucky. I'm 74 and living is fun
This harmonicaaaaaa....😮❤
Will never be too old to listening to such good music .. 😂😅
My first concert was Canned Heat, Hot Tuna and Spencer Davis group at Winter land SF in the early 70s .
For $5.50 !! Great memories !

Mon adolescence....... Nos "booms" quelles années bonheur !!! Tt était permi.... Encore....
Love canned heat. I saw them in 1970 at a small bar in louisville. First acid trip at 16 (looked 30).
W🥰W what an absolute treat 🤘✌🏼
I used to live three doors up the street from the drummer on Marmol Dr in Woodland Hills CA!
Still have this 45. Damn it sounds just as good now! Love these guys.
Simply the BEST harp riff ever!
I'm a really old guy. Yeah, really. And these musicians sound like so damn cool.
