Playing cheap amps with a $2000 guitar won't fool me, I know your tricks Dagan. You did just inadvertently sell me a "Mayer" pentagram t-shirt though...you deserve a commission.
it seen to me that you don't know much about guitar stuff, it is not about the guitar, it is about gears, the guitar can be cheap you need buy Amp from 2000$ pedal from 250$ and you can get any cheap guitar 100$ you will have tone an stars tone a monster tone!
At first I thought he was a bit too over the top, but I love seeing their vids now. He loves what he does and he loves playing guitar. He still reminds me of Jack Sparrow quite a bit but I love it, haha! Keep up the good work Dagan! 🤘👍
Well I’ll be damned, that’s the amp I have. And I have been thinking I need to go for something more metal oriented like a mesa or an EVH 5150. By the way Julian it’s a blackstar ID:30 TVP.
I liked the blackstar best just because it seams the most versitile. It seams it can handle all sorts of metal as well as plenty of rock and even other styles
That Laney brought some memories. I had a Laney Tube Fusion 100 solid state amp back in the day when I was really into The Shadows. With the "Bright" switch turned on, that Laney gave quite authentic The Shadows guitar sound with my '83 MIJ Squier. Its gain channel was not something to sniff at, but it was the clean channel which was wonderful to me.
Page Hamilton is the KT88 King imho. Really digging the Blackstar. I have an old VHT Pitbull 120 with the KT88's and a 4x12 cab with 2 x 30 watt and 2 x 25 watt Celestian Greenbacks so it's def not something I can use for a practice amp. Love the Blackstar versatility as well. Def going to check one out. Thanks!
The blackstar tvp is not only a great beginner amp at the 15w to 30w range (BTW, the bookmark in the video says you have have 15w version) but I love it as my top end big boy amp with the same things expressed in a 2x12. Tvp 260. I've played it with the volume past 12'oclock with a live drummer right next to me. That tvp line is an absolute beast if you want to go all out with that particular sound. The crazy part is despite it being 2x12 vs 1x12, my Blackstar Club ht40 Kentucky (6l6 tubes) is even more fierce than the tvp. It probably hangs with a live band effortlessly. Blackstar is obviously my preference but whether I'm playing metal or pop, I have always preferred a metal TONE to express whatever it is I'm playing in. And with that mindset I have found a comfortable home with blackstars products. Their high end stuff is amazing and their lower end stuff doesn't sacrifice tone quality either. It's worth mentioning Blackstar also makes great "beginner" tube amps. Some nice sounding lower powered/single tube powered amps and many of their recent products include switches to tone down the watts to 2 to 6.
Honestly the hybrid lunchbox heads are a better way to go. A joyo zombie and 1x12 loaded with a v30 will run under $400 from thommans. Or the new peavy mini heads are relatively inexpensive($400ish) and sound badass. Also the joyo mjolnir ($450ish) is a great option as well and a great entry level tube amp. The combo amp is honestly a poor investment these days, just because the micro heads are so good, cheap and there are so many flavors anymore, you can't really go wrong.
No don't do it man I bought into all the reviews, the palm muting on it sounds so hollow there is no oomph to this amp I sold mine not long after buying it.
The Katana is awesome for metal, you need to use the Tone studio to tweak the tone you want, best amp I have ever owned ,will not buy anything else again, don't need to.
You don't "need" one but distortion pedals will give you different sounds depending on the amp/pedal combo, for example, if you find the amp doesn't provide the distorted tone you are looking for, then a pedal may give you more/better distortion. There are also fuzz and overdrive pedals which will further differentiate the tone.
I'm really an Orange kind of person when it comes to amps. I don't get the hate, because I absolutely love them. It's a little muffled, I hear people say. But they probably just didn't dial it in right.
I am currently trying to gather a set of good equipment to play nu metal. Could anyone give me some advice??? Which one is best for nu metal??? Also, is necessary to get some additional pedals to play this kind of music?

Just saw this. As an instructor of guitar and metal. Theses days I recommend lunch box amps tubs. Like I recommend to the parents to buy a guitar that the child interest demands.
Based on my 30+ years of tube amp circuit knowledge... here is my observation: 1. 6L6 tubes sound horrible for metal: they are too "round" sounding, and get muddy when pushed. 2. EL34 tubes are the classic Marshall sounding tube (my personal favorite), however, many thrash and death metal players dislike the early breakup and more "elastic" tendency of the EL34, and prefer the harder and more headroom 6550 or KT88 tube types. 3. Players who like the tone of the EL34, but want more headroom and less saturation can set the bias higher, this will make the EL34 draw less current at idle, and therefore produce a crunchier tone with later breakup. As always, let your ears be your ultimate guide.
The Vox amPlug 2 Metal demo at the end really doesn't do it justice. With the right settings I think it has an amaaaaazing sound. I use Gain 7, Tone 3.5, Orange channel and it sounds metal AF!
