      Is 20 years really 20 years in Florida? I know here in PA, most only do half that time if they complete programs, good behavior etc.

      @@True_Crime_Junkie16 She has to do 85% of her sentence by Florida law, she can earn up to 10 days of " good time" per month. She could possibly be released in about 15 years and 6 months.

      I didn't see their statements ... How were they "shut down?". I DID watch Sarah Boone's statement and she was absolutely despicable and disgusting! Glad to know she was dumb Enuf to turn down the Plea deal for just 15 years, of which she'd only have served 8-10 because she got a LIFE SENTENCE and in Florida, Life actually means LIFE!       It is debatable how that would help society.
      In the Nordic countries the primary goal is to rehabilitate, instead of punishing.
      In Finland, she would serve 4-5 years.
      Yet, women who have killed someone very rarely are repeat offenders, no crimes at all after they have been released.

      I totally agree with you. She plotted to marry him as soon as she met him, she purposely got pregnant to trap him and did her best to keep the baby away from her Dad and when he wouldn't go away and 'cough up' money for this little girl, she then plotted to kill him and walk away without any punishment by claiming 'self defence.' She should have got at the minimum, 40 years!! She's a wicked murderer!

    She should have gotten life . She should have been found guilty of firsst degree murder. My gut tells me she started plotting as soon as she got pregnant. Rid of Doug as soon as possible in any means necessary and nothing was working so she riled him up to the point she could shoot him and claim self defense and abuse.

      She WASN'T found guilty of 1st degree murder. Were you on the jury? Your gut tells you is no basis for any conclusions. It was not possible to sentence her to life.

      20 years in jail state prison is not a light sentence. You cannot compare 20 years out and 20 years in jail, she will never raise her daughter, she is cooked she will leave jail looking like 68

      1) Their father, a good man and great father
      2) Access to HIS Parents
      3) Will eventually lose Gramma Donna Adelson
      4) Maybe their mother Wendy

      @@susancham6025 Dan Markel would still be alive today if Wendi's bf had done the right thing and given police but especially Dan a head's up his wife wanted to kill him.
      He admitted as much on stand when he testified he should have done the right thing (YOU THINK) but he thought so long as he bounced what she wanted to do off his buddy who dismissed it, that was all the permission he needed to do nothing because his dik was his priority.
      You'd have to suspend disbelief that Dan wouldn't have taken it completely seriously. He knew Wendi & her entire family were trying to do everything in their power to remove him from his children's lives.
      In the very least, Dan would have exposed what she said and police wouldn't have to look far if she carried out her plot.
      Anyone who blows off someone who he admitted was NOT JOKING has a screw loose!

      This fraudulent self absorbed violently intentional narcissistic heartless foul vagrant was numb waaayyy waaaaaayyyyyy before she ever graced the prison system and awaiting jail cell with her evil pouting spoiled rotten foul and filthy presence.......after she called Mr. Benefield and invited him over to her residence, 🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀 this man she was soooooo terrified of, needed protection from, and feared horribly..........(lured him to his death🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮......LYING WENCH!!!!🤮🤮🤮).......upon his arrival, he was so kindly allowed to pack absolutely all of her belongings for her departure/move to safety, BS!!!!!!😤😤😤😤....this horribly vicious, abusive,threatening, attacker and crazed violent menacing individual that she was soooooo terrified of, i dont think so, doesn't even begin to pass the smell test....just called him up, not an ounce of fear exhibited, put her plans in motion, invited him over, to pack up her lazy thankless worthless disgusting self absorbed fat _ss😤😤........andddd, only when he's fully completed the task, this despicable, immoral, conniving, selfish, loathsome, premeditating, hateful, insignificant , free loading excuse for a human unloaded 4 rounds into this unarmed mans body and let him die alone on the ground without giving it a second thought.......should have been 1st Degree Premeditated Murder Charge, a Capitol offense in Florida, and she would be given the Death Penalty or Life without any Possibility of Parole. They screwed this one up big time............ prayers for Mr. Benefield and his daughter, the only true victims in this case. "Vengeance is mine says the Lord".

    Should have gotten the full 30 at least. I hope she actually has to do the full 20 and doesn't get a chance for early release. Fingers crossed the kid is with dad's family, if they are able.
    Edit: Everybody is going to say they are remorseful because they know it looks better. It doesn't mean they are actually remorseful.

      It’s like during the pre trial when she used to come to court in tight well fitting designer duds with full makeup and hair. Once the jury was seated she changed to loose fitting, 1950s grandma type clothing with no makeup and no hair. Trying to look as a meek and battered victim.

      I’m going to agree with you here because I have been involved with a man for too long. He has a daughter that literally even after all these years can do no wrong. A lot of insane stuff going on looking forward to moving on with my life because when you do more for a kid than her own mother after helping her to get to live with us full time, has it made then decides to buddy up with Dad against me because she doesn’t wanna clean her room or do chores do Wtf she wants when she once eventually starts yelling and cursing at you and dad doesn’t do anything and becomes a nightmare. Well it’s time to say bye-bye! I’m not going out like that and I’m not gonna be another statistic cause she’s mentally Ill! Stay safe.       There was evidence in the trial he kicked their family dog and fired a gun in the home to intimidate her (while his daughter was also home btw). He was abusive. The jury just didn't care.

Think about it how could he have been coming at her when she shot him in the back of the leg and into his back? That would suggest using common sense that he was retreating not advancing. As for hurting a dog there is no excuse absolutely!

    She is guilty as sin. I don't believe for one instant that her husband abused her in any way. He went through hell and back for her going into all that debt to open her a ballet studio, and then she left him holding the bag and bearing all the responsibility. She could have left and not introduced a gun into the mix. She is so guilty. She needs to go away for a long, long time.

    So sorry for Doug's oldest daughter as well as the little one. Doug didn't even know his daughter with Ashley was born. There are so many moms and children that would love to have the father involved in their lives. They weren't a good match but he didn't need to die and now both daughters with two different mothers are without a either parent.

    I thought victims could say just about anything they wanted to the defendant as long as it wasnt too obscene?? Ive watched so many where victims and family screamed at the top of their lungs, some saying they hated the defendant and hoped they suffer horribly in prison, some trash talked the defendant. There have even been some who trash talked the courts, and police if they felt like they let them down ordid something wrong. I have never ever heard a judge stop them and basically tell them to stop saying mean things about her??? Im so confused can anyone give actual law or reasoning why?

I case YOU haven't listened or paid attention, this was NEVER a death penalty case ever! So how explain WHY? Even the prosecutor during one of the victims statements that was cut off by the judge reiterated the same. Before you criticize,please know what you are saying thank you. Now back to my original question.....why did the judge follow death penalty guidelines in a nonceath penalty case?? I have NEVER seen that before????????????

      I disagree, women are different to men and I think she will weaponize her manipulation skills to navigate through prison. She is also pretty so I'm sure she could use that to her advantage with the lesbian inmates. Women, even small meek looking ladies can be extremely resourceful when need be and I don't doubt for one minute she will be doing just fine....UNFORTUNATELY.
