      Yes he was not a 12 PIC. but that only happened do the the Penix pick with Alt.
      through the rest of the first round off. Broncos could no longer take a chance and stepping back and getting a round 2 pick. which they have stated was the probable avenue. raiders was set on penix. they may have just taking BO

  • @TuMucFun
    @TuMucFun 17 дней назад +11

    Bo Nix is the best fit, most accurate, most NFL game ready and the broncos nailed it. They talked up McCarthy and they didn’t even want him. NIX was their 3rd ranked qb and they took him after 3 other qbs were drafted in front of him. Maye is a project. Penix was a stupid decision for the falcons since they paid cousins, and McCarthy is a huge, overhyped reach. Nobody is killing the Vikings for moving up to get him, but that was the biggest reach of the 1st round.

      First, there ARE no experts. Second, college stats are not what pro scouts are primarily interested in. There are reasons to like Nix, & reasons not to. Don't get caught in the trap of being a stats guy here, because not all of them favor Nix.
      Care about what Sean Payton thinks, not what media guys think.

    Here’s my prediction of these dudes tiers: Caleb: franchise qb HOF caliber. Maye: same but will take more time. JD: passing scares me. Rarely throws in middle of the field and isn’t nearly as fast as Lamar. Backup. Penix: will make a few pro bowls but never be spectacular. Jj: straight up bust. Bo: potential pro bowler/franchise qb. Look at his stats. Insane.

    • @303offroad

      @DavidHBurkart 17 дней назад

      @@acrum2457 I understand, but given our self-inflicted hampered draft situation, this really was the best we could have accomplished. I like our picks. Under the circumstances, it was either trade down for an additional one or two picks and commit to even additional years with a bridge QB, or draft a promising Nix and get the best picks with the draft capital we do have. We were going to have to bite the bullet this year one way or another.
      At least we won't go into the season wondering what our QB situation is. This year is open competition, most likely with either Stidham or Wilson as QB1 at the start, however, Nix has been a starting QB throughout most of his years between Auburn/Oregon, so he could very well prove himself capable of the starting gig here.
      Yet if Nix is our QB2 or 3 to start, should Stidham/Wilson prove underwhelming as game managers, expect to see Nix sooner rather than later. I think this was part of Payton's thought process.

    • @user-zr4km5ns8t
      @user-zr4km5ns8t 16 дней назад

      I don't know what you were looking at, but that is false. In point of fact, Bo Nix had a year at Auburn in 2021 in which he got benched. Nix played 4 of his 5 years in the exact same system...& in 2021 when he didn't...he described it as "a nightmare". Why? He was working in an offense designed by Bryan Halsin who brought in NFL passing concepts to replace the spread stuff.
      What Nix got at Auburn before Halsin did not prepare him for the NFL. Neither did he get anything different at Oregon. Why? Because Nix followed his former OC Kenny Dillingham to the Ducks. He was suddenly surrounded by a major talent upgrade & playing against weaker PAC 12 defenses.
      We don't know if Nix can start in the NFL or not, but if you're wondering how long it might take, consider the fact that Jarret Stidham played in EXACTLY the same offense when he was at Auburn. It took him 3 years to learn to play in the NFL. Jordan Palmer, who coached him in the NFL along with guys like Josh Allen & Joe Burrow, said that when Jarrett got to New England he knew almost nothing about how to be an NFL QB...because he got nothing of value in college that would help him in the NFL.
      Nix played in that system too.

    I take the Broncos at their word that they had Nix rated highly, above JJ, Penix and even Maye. So they're sitting at 12, there's a player they really like at a position of desperate need and league-wide importance, and their intel says the guy will probably be there at 12. It's an absolute no-brainer pick. The Broncos would deserve an "F" if they did anything EXCEPT take Nix at 12. If they tried to get cute and trade back there is a high likelihood some other team would have rammed it up their rear end.

  • @TonyDanza4Lyfe
    @TonyDanza4Lyfe 17 дней назад

    You have to play that game and comparing nix level as a prospect obliterates rattler. He’s also ignoring that the raiders would’ve happily taken him at 13

    Time will tell. No one suspected T Brady would win all those SBs with 2 different teams, Purdy taking his team to 2 NFC Championship games. I don't think Bo Nix was the worst pick Denver ever made. I'll bet Nix has a better year than the 5 QBs drafted before him in this year's draft.

      Nope, I never thought Wilson was the answer especially with how he was playing in Seattle over the last few years. I'm just being honest because I've seen Bo play with my own eyes against some of the strongest defense's in the PAC 12 and he would pick them apart, even Washington which Oregon lost to by a field goal in their first game but that wasn't because of Nix

    It is stupid to keep using the Ponder example to try and look at the drafting of Nix. Pundits use way more assumptions and guessing to evaluate picks than actual analysis. It is pretty obvious they do not do many deep dives into the players and researching why teams make the picks they do.
