Thought he was Mac Jones 2.0 but I think he has a little more arm just a little but maybe that's enough we'll see. He is diffidently more mobile so that should also help him in the NFL.
but tends not to throw with whole rotating body. Compare him to a nice reel of Brett Favre who is very often shifting all his weight well forward once grounded. That is my only reservation about the Nix.see around 8:15 here. The throw is flimsy and uncommitted yet he has plenty of time to set and throw and good pocket protection. His right foot is often just not set well in many of his throws, in the NFL this will not work.
Michael Penix is the most underated QB in this draft. He’ll be the only one of this class that throws for over 30,000 yards throughout his career in the NFL. #I_predict
Penix won’t even play for at least two years lol. He won’t even start until he’s like 26/27. Nix is gonna play more than 10 years as a starter Penix will be lucky to stay healthy 10 years. Penix has a great arm but that last championship game was borderline unwatchable and highlighted his grit but also his red flag injury scare potential. I feel the same way about Daniels, he might be the best for 1-3 years but I question if he survives until his next contract without a major injury the way he plays. Penix just isn’t as mobile as Nix in the pocket and has a knack for injuring himself just like Daniels has a knack for running upright and taking monster hits. Either he will stop running or that will catch up with him. I could still see Penix hit 30k but he will be 36/37 and on a Geno Smith trajectory by then. I like his fit in ATL, though. He will be fun to watch after Cousins retires/gets cut in two years. Nix has the least red flags of all the qbs in this draft. He has the longest career potential.
Watching both this film and Kurt Warner’s breakdown of him against UW, you can most definitely see that USC was not as good on the back end. In the UW game and even on quite a few plays in this game I constantly see Nix avoiding the deep downfield throws (unless they are running like 4 verticals), even when they were absolutely there. Either he doesn’t trust his own arm or doesn’t trust his receivers in some of these 1-on-1 opportunities. It is probably a big reason he didn’t throw very many interceptions. But it is in stark contrast to Michael Penix, who would ALWAYS make those throws. Penix might end up throwing a few more picks, but the shear number of big plays drastically increases with him throwing the ball over Nix. Almost all of Oregon’s big plays, were YAC plays thanks to his WRs speed. Can he still be successful in the NFL? Yes. But if NFL coaches and DBs KNOW he won’t take the downfield throws, they will bate him all day to make the big throws and either his team will have a lot of short drives, he’ll throw more picks, OR he will prove he can make those throws. Justin Herbert did just that.
@@analyticalinsight From what I have seen Nix is making more downfield throws against OU’s lesser opponents, but the shear number of balls he throws that are traveling IN THE AIR over 25 yards were not as many as Penix. By no means am I saying that this is a bad thing with Nix. In fact, that could be a direct reflection of him maturing and not trying to make the big throws all the time and just taking what the defense gave him. When at Auburn he threw a lot more interceptions. So I think he learned a lot being at Oregon and learned to just take what was immediately there and not feel the need to try to push it downfield. Some of the best QBs in the NFL have been good for that very reason.
Just wanted to say, the first play on the supposed back shoulder pass, was not on the back shoulder it was thrown to the inside of the receiver and any Nfl CB is knocking that pass down or intercepting it. His accurate passes are often off target.
If there’s anything I’ve learned watching the NFL it’s that the cornerbacks are fucking garbage compared to like 20 years ago. They don’t know ball anymore they just get cooked they aren’t intercepting shit these days
@@gaetanoschristmaschannel The best ones never have to turn around in the first place they're waiting like Night Train Lane ready to pounce on it. I'll never understand the man to man trying to keep from being burnt toast style of defense hoping you have time to turn around in time, it's pointless. DB's should have to run their 40's backwards. The second you turn your back on the qb you're playing behind the 8 ball and flailing like an angry parent in the car trying to smack their kids in the 90's aiming for an invisible football.
I think hes going to be really good. Then i think theres a good chance hes going to a division rival. I also have a weird feeling the chargers might pick him up. Odd i know
i dont know how you miss that deep cross if you portend to have high level nfl potential which is why im not excited about him as a broncos fan. ive watched him these first 3 weeks and the way the ball comes off his finger tips looks a little strange for an nfl QB. the ball will wobble on him quite a bit..you dont see that pretty release like the top nfl QBs have. idk maybe its just me. as a broncos fan the last decade has been a lot of busts and mediocre QBs, also were in the afc west with maybe the best QB of all time. im not super pumped about a guy who "has a chance to have a solid nfl career" like you said, id rather lose every game this coming season and draft the very best QB in the class. someone who just oozes talent that may one day have the opportunity to compete with mahomes and the chiefs for the division. i know caleb williams hasnt been showing out so far but you can still see the traits pop off the screen with him when he's not being buried by D linemen and if he was in sean paytons offense here i bet he'd be doing much better, that kind of draft pick would be awesome for us but the broncos just never tank and the best draft picks we get are in the range of 5-15. have the broncos even ever had the first overall pick? i know we traded for elway.
I'm not a professional QB or anything, but that first throw looks like absolute crap to me. That is not a back shoulder throw. He leaves it way too far inside. A competent DB would have broken that up if not picked it off, rather than falling down for no reason. Like yeah, ball placement doesn't matter when you're 1-on-1 with USC's dime cornerback, but that is not an NFL throw.
Or maybe he’s smart enough to know it’s a USC cb so he’s smart enough to do just that and clearly he doesn’t throw many bad balls if he only has two interceptions
Everyone likes their QB's they drafted on draft day. Let's see how these guys all stack up in a few years. 2021 QB's are all with different teams and basically busts. Only Lawrence is with his team that drafted him and he's not exactly setting the world on fire.
Lmao dude Chase Daniel was 14 years old when Brady was drafted tf are you talking about. Daniel played QB in the NFL for 14 years I don't think we need his opinion on Brady in college to know he knows what he's talking about gtfo
I want to be positive because I'm a Broncos fan, but the USC DBs look like garbage in these play breakdowns. Less of a credit to Nix, unfortunately. Sorry, I just don't want to get hurt again.

Didn’t Brady win a bunch of Super Bowls with 5 to 8 yards throws
Maybeeee
But Chase). Bo will be wearing cowboy orange in Denver town he he. Correction, Bo Daciouis is supremely accurate lolol
Broncos Country!!!!
but tends not to throw with whole rotating body. Compare him to a nice reel
of Brett Favre who is very often shifting all his weight well forward once grounded. That is my only reservation about the Nix.see around 8:15 here. The throw is flimsy and uncommitted yet he has plenty of time to set and throw and good pocket protection. His right foot is often just not set well in many of his throws, in the NFL this will not work.
He had a great career at Auburn??? Oh, ok
Why did you retire dude. Get INTO COACHING! Go Broncos lol
I mean…maybe
Why is being able to make short passes a bad thing? Have you ever heard of YAC ?
Not a bad thing!
24 is very young for a QB 😅 ppl....especially if he's a winning QB
Michael Penix is the most underated QB in this draft. He’ll be the only one of this class that throws for over 30,000 yards throughout his career in the NFL. #I_predict
Haha!!
Hope Bo go's late in the first round to a better team.
Nix never lost a fumble?😳
hi chase
NIX threw more TD passes than Penix, and more TDs of longer than 30 yards than penix
That's really BS
@@maskcollector6949 Most corners, don't look back in time, the great ones do.
I think Rattler was the most underrated easily.
I hated the Broncos taking him when they did until I saw this
Yeah maybe you fairweather bronco fans should actually watch some tape first before judging. He hasn't even played a snap yet.
EVERY QB HAS TO THROW FROM BEHIND THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE. 🤔🤔 BRONCOS COUNTRY!! 🎉🎉❤
USC's Defense was so bad. This had to be the worst defense in USC's history. OMG!!!!
I think hes going to be really good. Then i think theres a good chance hes going to a division rival. I also have a weird feeling the chargers might pick him up. Odd i know
Why would the chargers pick him up ? He’s going at worst 2nd round why would the chargers use a pick on him when they have an estabikished QB?!
@younggoose7315 idk but they scouted him. I agree it doesn't make sense
@@timm5970 they didn’t scout him
@@younggoose7315 they did
@@timm5970 where’s the evidence ?
Chase Daniel? Are you the Chase Daniel from Mizzu?
i dont know how you miss that deep cross if you portend to have high level nfl potential which is why im not excited about him as a broncos fan. ive watched him these first 3 weeks and the way the ball comes off his finger tips looks a little strange for an nfl QB. the ball will wobble on him quite a bit..you dont see that pretty release like the top nfl QBs have. idk maybe its just me. as a broncos fan the last decade has been a lot of busts and mediocre QBs, also were in the afc west with maybe the best QB of all time. im not super pumped about a guy who "has a chance to have a solid nfl career" like you said, id rather lose every game this coming season and draft the very best QB in the class. someone who just oozes talent that may one day have the opportunity to compete with mahomes and the chiefs for the division. i know caleb williams hasnt been showing out so far but you can still see the traits pop off the screen with him when he's not being buried by D linemen and if he was in sean paytons offense here i bet he'd be doing much better, that kind of draft pick would be awesome for us but the broncos just never tank and the best draft picks we get are in the range of 5-15. have the broncos even ever had the first overall pick? i know we traded for elway.
Go Broncos
I’m a Broncos fan and hope he is great but this film is against a terrible Trojans secondary
Chase were you a QB in NFL?
💚💛🦆🦆
I'm not a professional QB or anything, but that first throw looks like absolute crap to me. That is not a back shoulder throw. He leaves it way too far inside. A competent DB would have broken that up if not picked it off, rather than falling down for no reason. Like yeah, ball placement doesn't matter when you're 1-on-1 with USC's dime cornerback, but that is not an NFL throw.
Or maybe he’s smart enough to know it’s a USC cb so he’s smart enough to do just that and clearly he doesn’t throw many bad balls if he only has two interceptions
Yeah I thought that throw was crap too. At the receivers foot and I don’t know what the hell the db was doing
Everyone likes their QB's they drafted on draft day. Let's see how these guys all stack up in a few years. 2021 QB's are all with different teams and basically busts. Only Lawrence is with his team that drafted him and he's not exactly setting the world on fire.
Matt Leinert 2.0.
I need to ask what your rating was when Tom Brady came out of the draft? Also, can you show me how the different ratings are different?
Lmao dude Chase Daniel was 14 years old when Brady was drafted tf are you talking about. Daniel played QB in the NFL for 14 years I don't think we need his opinion on Brady in college to know he knows what he's talking about gtfo
Maybe. I hope so.
Let's discount some of the dumbass comments and just see what happens.
Would you say you PICKED nix, from the nose?
Youre really eating whatever comes out of your nose. Still.
USC defense was a joke this year! My sons flag team would points up on them😂😂
I want to be positive because I'm a Broncos fan, but the USC DBs look like garbage in these play breakdowns. Less of a credit to Nix, unfortunately. Sorry, I just don't want to get hurt again.
Bo Nix ain't underrated, he's a less talented Baker Mayfield, he'll be ok in the NFL
He is if he’s not being included in the top 4 QB discussion
😂😂😂 I don’t think he even outplays Zach Wilson for the starting job this year…
Bro all these Oregon fans and all these fangirls are trippen lol he's a bust guaranteed
Based on what? What's your analysis?
Bro this has to be satire.. if not you’re really ruining your own credibility. We have eyes dude. You’re showing the most unimpressive film and trying to hype every little detail to convince us it’s not just mediocre QB play to great receivers. Don’t try to make “content” man, casuals don’t even watch this stuff. Your audience is people who genuinely want an experts opinion on the game. You don’t have to be extremely technical, but at least give your honest opinion and analysis. This just sounds like you’re forcing yourself to hype him up by exaggerating the impressiveness of the most basic things every QB should do
What’s your analysis then
record setting completion percentage is basic. you need a better vocabulary.
