The 2011 Explorer XLT is a sweeeet machine. I bought mine two years ago and it's by far the best vehicle I've ever owned. Comfortable and smooth but everyone thinks I'm a police officer with the white on black and my dashcam lmao. It was cute and funny at first but damn it's so annoying now seeing people stay in my blind spot until they realize I'm not a cop.
I remember when the 2011 Explorer was brand new. My dad received a monthly Ford Magazine after we purchased our 2010 Ford Focus and they featured the new Explorer nonstop. I still love these things.
Rented a 2014 V6 Limited in LA and drove it cross-country this winter. I must say, the Explorer is one of the best cars I've driven for family road-trips. Very smooth and comfortable.
The fact I have a good time with you guys have to go back and I don't think that is not to get to see you soon enough of a new song and video is a very long time to be in my life and you can do it for a while to get to go back to my friends are so many people have been in bed with my life I love it when you are so many times I was a great way of
my good friend's mom has a 2017 ford explorer XLT with the sport appearance package. it's so sweet! she let me drive it to san fransico with her son (my friend) and we stopped for gas and i floored it while taking a turn and the dash starting blinking and beeping at my and the gas pedal locked. scared he absolute bejesus outta me but good safety feature lol..
its most def improved from the last previous gens. I like this one. Great job Ford with the detail work and great job kyle for uploading this video for us. :-)
I test-drove a 2011 Explorer XLT back when they first came out. It had all of the stuff shown here except for the bigger wheels. Nice CUV. But I'm a Jeep guy, so I'll always get a Jeep (:
This would have to be my favorite SUV. It's very stylish and modern, but yet still looks rugged. I wish Ford Australia would sell this here in Australia.
Ford, you have outdone yourself this time, we are going to buy a 2012 Ford Focus SEL and a 2012 Ford Explorer EcoBoost. Thank you for everything you have done.
I don't like all those touch screens - how would I use them while driving on bumpy roads?! I like the hi-tech stuff but this in this cast it's just not functional and rather hard to use. I prefer one normal button for one function. Great video, Kyle!
Awesome car awesome color!! It's cool that you don't have to get the most expensive "model" to get all the gadgets :) the only thing its really missing is the push button start right?? Pretty cool :)
Extremely nice truck! But can u turn off the beeps on the radio??? That would annoy me SO MUCH after awhile! Whenever I get a new cellphone or somethin, I ALWAYS turn off the keytone sounds.
i guess the people that experienced the older explorers don't like the modern approach of the new models, while newcomers to the explorer nameplate like it. i think its a great suv, but its a tough choice between this and the flex
@iAaronHD The only rugged smaller SUV left is the Toyota 4Runner. It still uses a traditionally fully boxed latter style frame with a true 4x4 system. I think Chevy is bringing the Blazer back too.
Review a 2013 Ford Escape, 2011 Ford Ranger, and a 2011 Ford Transit Connect. Those would be awesome vehicles to review. Also, any other year Ford Escape. Thanks.
@Dualshock21 Actually you have the option of driving a manual or automatic during drivers ed but it costs 20/40 dollars more for the teachers to teach you how to drive a manual. and you can drive your vehicle auto/manual during your drivers test.
My dad has this car with the Sync system. I was trying to drive it through Brooklyn and control simple things like the radio/climate control. What a NIGHTMARE.
@AdamAus85 Top Gear has nothing to do with it. Land Rover hasn't been owned by Ford in ages and the Explorer is essentially a cross-over now, and as one it appears to be a good one. The reviews certainly agree.
I can't speak for the chevy. But I had a 2003 Ford Explorer 4door XLT as my first car. Got when I was 16 in 2008 and still have it to this day. Very solid. Very quiet ride. It towed my trailer to my college dorm every year. And mine seats 7 people so it was good for fraternity events and social events. Nowdays it gets me to the office everyday and auto 4x4 is kickass in the snow. The transmission and wheel bearings might give you problems, but once you replace them, the entire car is solid.
I can't really speak for the Colorado because I've never owned one but a few years ago my family used to have a 1996 Ford Explorer V6 (same style as a 2001) that we bought in 1999 and for the first 10 years or so it was a decent car but when ours hit around 100K miles it seemed to literally fall apart. Despite caring for it ours had misfires, slipping transmission, paint peeling off the roof (and always garage kept!) After a while it turned into a piece of garbage. Our Explorer was also a massive pain to work on for even basic maintenance. Just to replace spark plugs it's a nearly impossible job and in order to access them you have to take off the front right tire! Is that stupid or what!? Very poorly designed vehicle for the average DIY person. It is a nightmare to work under that hood. If you're getting an Explorer save yourself a few headaches by getting the 5.0L V8 as the V6's are notorious for timing chain failures. Personally GM has been better to me and to my parents than Ford has so if it were me I would give the Colorado a chance......
I thought the explorer had that dial thingy where u can set the vehicle to different terrain to drive on such as sand, snow and gravel etc. I guess its either an option or not equipped in the XLT models.
@MfalmeVTold I agree with you with the normal button for functions, but I would have to disagree with you with not liking a touch screen, because either you get a touch screen or you get one of those mouse thingy with the Lexus or BMW's scroll knob and I think they are harder to use that just touching a button on the screen. But that's just my opinion.
@iAaronHD Buy one before they mess it up! I'm a Dodge man myself, partially because they aren't turning their entire lineup into extremely similar designs. This new explorer isn't even an SUV anymore, considering the lack of V8 and default front wheel drive. What you said about the Edge is right. I know someone who has an Edge and this is exactly the same, maybe with a longer wheel base.

Ahhh I find that turn signal noise so soothing 🥰
Same! My fathers 2013 f150 has the same sound
I love how it sounds on the 2019 Explorer
I love the warning chime on the newer Ford's
3.5 L V6 Engine.
They still use it! It’s been around since the 09 Flex.
I remember when the 2011 Explorer was brand new. My dad received a monthly Ford Magazine after we purchased our 2010 Ford Focus and they featured the new Explorer nonstop. I still love these things.
LMAO! How old are you bud? 2011 feels like yesterday to me.
Rented a 2014 V6 Limited in LA and drove it cross-country this winter. I must say, the Explorer is one of the best cars I've driven for family road-trips. Very smooth and comfortable.

How much u spend to fill up the tank Thks!

Jonas Bickford got the same thing but gray and it’s a 2018
Jonas Bickford I have the same thing but one year older
WooooooooooooooooW , one of the best SUVs that I ever seen. It's a great car all to gather.
Love the way the horn was made on this
its most def improved from the last previous gens. I like this one. Great job Ford with the detail work and great job kyle for uploading this video for us. :-)
My grandpa has this exact same one color and all. Never got the chance to drive it cuz he lives in Oceanside, CA and I'm in Las Vegas. Simply GORGEOUS
I would definitely love to have this as the vehicle I drive once I am able to drive seems safe yet edgy and awesome.
Congratulations Kyle for all of your vids! Great work man :)
"All new 2011 Explorer" :'))) nostalgia kicked in
These have been out forever lol, back in 2011 these looked so cool and modern on the road.
Finally! I was looking forward to this one! What do you think of the redesign Kyle? Do you like it? Great vid man!
This is perfect for the people that don't want a car and don't want an SUV. I love the Explorer. I want to get one for my first car if I can find one.
My dad ordered one of these just like this except in dark blue, i'm so excited to get it!
I like the start up chime :)
Nick Wiley gets annoying tbh
Lolo denesis get a all new 2020 ford explorer limited
I test-drove a 2011 Explorer XLT back when they first came out. It had all of the stuff shown here except for the bigger wheels. Nice CUV. But I'm a Jeep guy, so I'll always get a Jeep (:
Nice good looking suv. This design is 12 years old at this point, how reliable are these?
This would have to be my favorite SUV. It's very stylish and modern, but yet still looks rugged. I wish Ford Australia would sell this here in Australia.
Come to The USA and pick it up and drive it back there
I remember watching this video back in 2014! BTW happy 10 years of this video!
Sweet! Kind of miss the unibody platform but a nice SUV! Great vid as always Kyle!
Was gonna correct you then realized it's a 10 yr old comment
@@RockyFoxxowo sorry, body on frame lol

Same story where I live too.
Same where I live too
Nekia Fontanez cool
Oh YEAH!👌👍
Mine use the ford intercepter
Ford, you have outdone yourself this time, we are going to buy a 2012 Ford Focus SEL and a 2012 Ford Explorer EcoBoost. Thank you for everything you have done.
This will be my first used SUV to buy Kyle.
I usually don't like Fords, but lately with the mustang, tarsus and explorer, i really like their new cars lately!
@MrJoe2412 well they discontinued the Aviator because it wasn't selling. Everybody was buying the larger Navigator.
Definitely one of the best 2011 cars
Yes. If I had a family now I’d consider one.
I saw a black one of these a few weeks ago, and it looked even better in real life
On of my dream cars!!
can u please do a 2016 ford explorer platinum
I'm thinking of buy a used 2011 Ford Explorer.
Hey kyle just a quick question, on average how long would you say it takes to edit one you're vidoes?
fords have really come a long way in the recent years.
And also now today! Look at the 2020 Exploder ST! Quite a ways
FORD EXPLORER is simply awesome!
I need to buy one
I don't like all those touch screens - how would I use them while driving on bumpy roads?! I like the hi-tech stuff but this in this cast it's just not functional and rather hard to use. I prefer one normal button for one function.
Great video, Kyle!
I like it. Nice clean design.
Kyle, what is you favorite crossover?
These look great, love them.
I wonder how this car is doing now
These are made 10 miles from where I live. Assembled in Chicago. Vast improvement from previous model.
@rforracing there's probably somewhere in the settings to turn that off otherwise some people would lose it
Best reviews on RUclips.
Good car 2011 Ford Explorer XLT thumps up
I always cheer when you turn the radio on 106.5...best station ever...haha
Awesome car awesome color!! It's cool that you don't have to get the most expensive "model" to get all the gadgets :) the only thing its really missing is the push button start right?? Pretty cool :)

Can you do an 2013-2014 ford explorer thanks keep up the good work👍
Anthony Navarro what’s the difference between this and the 2013-2014
I haven’t Thought of a name nothing literally nothing between the 2011-2019
[GTA]monkey no. 2011-15 there was nothing, then from 2016-2019 there was a face lift
@1nContr0l
I´m pretty sure hazards are battery powered too, so what´s your point??
I love this vehicle!! Thanks a lot, Kyle :-D
Damn old comment lol
Ten out of a ten family car 👍
is it depenable for whom finding an used car
I feel like the Sync system is a bit slow and too cluttered, but the features are pretty neat.
i hope that all touch dash is a option because not many people are going to like that
very nice i just think that touch pad would brake after a while and probley after the warrenty finishes then it would cost alot to fix
Is That the high out put 3.5 V6 ?
Looks good. I won't mind having one of these.
@iAaronHD The only rugged smaller SUV left is the Toyota 4Runner. It still uses a traditionally fully boxed latter style frame with a true 4x4 system. I think Chevy is bringing the Blazer back too.
@saabkyle04 should i get the xlt or the limited what does the limited have that the xlt doesn't
Pretty nice SUV. Pretty safe! (2011 standards)
It's sad to think that one of these has option where it can be powered by an I-4.
Review a 2013 Ford Escape, 2011 Ford Ranger, and a 2011 Ford Transit Connect. Those would be awesome vehicles to review. Also, any other year Ford Escape. Thanks.
@iAaronHD the explorer is not selling that good? I think Durango will beat then in sell
I always thought these were ugly, but in this color I like it alot.
I really like the way that it looks.
@AdamAus85 Top Gear has nothing to do with it. Land Rover hasn't been owned by Ford in ages and the Explorer is essentially a cross-over now, and as one it appears to be a good one. The reviews certainly agree.
That chime sounds like an electronic toy from the 80s!
what will happen to the odometer when it will hit 100k miles ?!
I like it even though it looks like a high rise Taurus BUT good job Ford!!!! Great video Kyle as always.....
the chime in my 25year old buick sounds better than that childs chime LOL
Whats a hetter first car? Chevy colorado 2004, or 2001 ford explorer. Plz just pick one and tell me why. Thanks
I can't speak for the chevy. But I had a 2003 Ford Explorer 4door XLT as my first car. Got when I was 16 in 2008 and still have it to this day. Very solid. Very quiet ride. angel lara colorados aren't safe in crash tests, especially for a new driver. explorer all the way
Can you please do a review on a refreshed brand new 2016 ford explorer??? Saabkyle04
I thought the explorer had that dial thingy where u can set the vehicle to different terrain to drive on such as sand, snow and gravel etc. I guess its either an option or not equipped in the XLT models.
That is a pretty cool SUV, I really do like My ford touch.
doesnt town and county have a youtube channel?
EST MPG is 17/25 but the dash fuel economy reads avg is 13.2 MPG. Whats up with that!
Thats an Expectional ford nice
Love my 2011 Ford Explorer limited
i wounded if this would be a good first car... i LOVE them!
Great review Kyle! I was wondering if you get some of the newer model Subaru's up on the channel. Thanks!
What is the price of this exact model?
love what ford has done to modernize and break the stereotype of all american cars.good on them
Weird, it's like the limited without the smart key and total touch-screen dash?
The All-New Explorer "Drive One."
can u do the limited model of the explorer????please??????????????
@iAaronHD That would be why Toyota has the 4Runner. Still body on frame, RWD or 4WD.
The speedometer is still mechanical. Why? because on a hot summer day, it must work.
kyle hows it been with your roadmaster?
Love those kooky hazards chime
182.5 miles on a new car?!?! That’s a lot bro!
Awesome video! Very Nice Explorer!
can you review the 2013 Toyota Alphard, sunroof edition please... Want to get it for the family, but I am not sure
+Nathan Carnagie That's not a car available in the US. So he doesn't have access to it.
@iAaronHD Buy one before they mess it up! I'm a Dodge man myself, partially because they aren't turning their entire lineup into extremely similar designs. @GTAcrazyfan12 @MfalmeVTold You don't have to get a touch screen on the explorer. it's an option on some trim levels.
Awesome 😀 😀 2011 Ford explorer XLT review .
saabklye04 could you do a 2016 ford exporler plz.
2017 Dodge Durango is badass truck
michaelheiland123654 Durango sucks
michaelheiland123654 no one buys them because ford is better at suvs than dodge.
88MS88 at least my infotainment system is responsive
Jayden Thompson no one cares. Shut up
