I laughed when you commented on the maid ( being you). My mother had a make believe maid named Hilda Hornwinkle. She would say “Hilda is a no show again. She is probably hitting the bottle. If she does not show up to clean and do dishes she needs to be fired!”

I'm a big Fan of Angels, I loved them..I believe your Angels are watching over you at this Christmas Season. Think about it, you had your dream of an Angel. And right there in that box there were two Angels. The first one right there in the box and at the very end was another Angel! And the one you already had, now you have 3 Angels to join your Christmas Nativity. Could it be a "Sign" from a loved one or maybe 3 loved ones who passed on years ago?!... I believe things like that are meant to be. Also I loved the pine floors, with all the stress marks. It gives it an old world feeling of a home well used and loved by it's owners. I just love old homes and yours is a gem! I enjoy coming along with you and your journey to fixing up your historic old home.

After my mom passed in 2019, the four of us kids decided to share our parent's nativity set from the late 1950's. Each Christmas it moves to the house that is hosting the family Christmas party. For Christmas 2023, it will be with me. I remember playing with the set each Christmas...as you can imagine it looks well loved! I love seeing the progression of your kitchen remodel. Thanks for the daily videos. I look forward to watching them.

You will get through all of that dishevel and once spring comes you will love or the ideas you will have! Being from Boston I still have a hard time year in Florida feeling festive. Very happy to say we will be driving to New England for the holidays!

    What a sweet share!
I loved how you lovingly shared your excitement with all of us! I too had made my crib many years ago when I was young. However I did not keep it for too much longer after I got married. It was just a cardboard box. I still kept the original piece, but got a
larger set as the years past.
    Thank you for this video.
It brought back a flood of memories. My Mum passed away, week and a half ago.

    All the best for Reno!

Hi Linda, Thank you for sharing your day(s) with us. Focusing on the nativity and the memories and going through the “mystery box” was such fun. I really love the handmade manger to put baby Jesus in. If I were there, I would focus on the upheaval of the remodel and not accomplish anything. I am learning some “new” behaviors and getting better and watching you give your attention to the nativity is calming for me. Angels are real…in Hebrews 13:2, it says, “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.” So looking forward to the next entry!

Hello Linda. I loved hearing the angel story. That was definitely a sign. And, what a great find! My nativity was made by my grandfather, roughly 100 years ago. With the pieces being from Italy (I may have already told you that ☺️). I’m so blessed to have and display it each Christmas. So much family history in it ☺️. I can’t wait to see the floors. Love that they’re able to have the boards run in the same direction👍🏻. Have yourself a great day today. 😁🎄🕊️

Linda I too have pieced pieces together. I have a lovely older set of different manger people. You can buy some sort of craft plaster in michaels or wherever and remake the parts that are missing. I used small brushes and toothpicks and implements to shape the missing ear or whatever while the plaster was still wet. Let it dry and maybe added or sanded it, whatever it needed then I painted or stained the new part to match. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. Or found other pieces that were to bad to repair and took parts from them and added on to the others. Came out very nicely. I could have bought a new set but wanted to keep the older ones too. Thoroughly enjoyed redoing some of the pieces. Picked up animals here and there till I have just what I need. Took a few years but I found them. At second hand stores, garage sales, church sales. Was great fun searching for them every time I was at a sale. A lot of the second hand stores would have little plastic bags of animals hung on the wall in the toy section, sometimes they would be with the Christmas things. You just never know where they are going to pop up. I have a wonderful pen of camels and sheep and cows, and a stray dog, a mangy kitty. A few chickens. A small bird or two on the roof of the manger. Some lambs. A beautiful star with the long pointed top and bottom that I hang above the manger. I originally had a small angel that stood on the point of the roof. But the angel kept getting lost. I found it one time in the grass outside the house by the back porch in the spring after the snow had melted. The angel must have gotten knocked down and thrown away with the wrapping paper. So many times it was lost and then later found. I have a couple of other angels now, but I still have the original. That was the only piece that kept getting lost. God Bless and Merry Christmas.

What a lovely find your nativity figures. They must have been cherished to actually save the damaged parts carefully wrapped to hopefully one day fix. It reminded me of another channel I watch, #Chateau Diaries with Stephanie Jarvis and the family at Lalande. Their advent vlog tonight was about them putting a navity together inspired by her french grandmother, previously they had visited shops I think in Italy to select villagers for a huge display. Hearing you say one of the figures had come from italy immediately took me back. If you have time and can find these vlogs maybe it would inspire you to also create one of these nativity villages! Thank you to the angels who are definitely guiding you to something special this year 😇🎄 love the floors reading a history of previous owners and Willow had to add her special signature to the new history of the house🐕🥰

It has a handwritten number 29 on the bottom, but another piece has the words "hand painted Italy" on it. I believe this came from my grandparents who immigrated from Poland a very long time ago. I treasure mine. The Manger fell apart, but the rest is ok except for the wise men are missing some gifts. Ran into some bandits along the way, perhaps lol

I just was so happy to see yours & possibly this popular plaster set, as they were broken, must have had a popular replacement in these Italian papier mache figures. We use Mom's "mixed set" to this day.

Linda you can repair the pieces that have missing parts by using milliput or air drying clay. Amazon has these products. Just sculpt a little and paint and you have repaired pieces.
