One, I still haven't been able to figure out how to turn on the backlight keys. Two, there just isn't much to the sensitivity of the joystick. I expected finer camera controls (sensitivity). Three, WISH the cam1,cam2,cam3 buttons would light up when selected. So much missing for a $1k camera control.

      Hello!
We just released new joystick firmware last month. Did you update your unit?
On the left hand side of the controller, next to the iris/shutter know, there is a button called BackLight
      Exposure Control
The Exposure Control section allows you to adjust the exposure settings of the camera.
      a. [BACKLIGHT] Button
Press the [BACKLIGHT] button to toggle the camera’s backlight compensation.
      1. Turning on the Backlit Keys
Backlight Activation: Generally, controllers like the PTZOptics SuperJoy have a button or a setting in the menu to turn on the backlight for the keys. If this is not easily found, it's possible that the feature might be managed automatically based on ambient light or through a specific combination of button presses.
User Manual: Refer to the user manual for the SuperJoy controller. It should provide specific instructions on how to activate the backlit keys. If you don't have a physical copy, the manual can typically be found on the PTZOptics website.
      2. Joystick Sensitivity
Sensitivity Adjustment: Some PTZ controllers allow you to adjust the sensitivity or speed of the joystick. This can usually be done through the controller's settings menu.
Firmware Update: If the joystick's sensitivity is not meeting expectations, check to see if there are any firmware updates available for the SuperJoy. Sometimes, firmware updates can improve hardware performance or add additional configuration options.
Contact Support: If you're unable to adjust the sensitivity to your liking and it's not covered in the manual, reaching out to PTZOptics support may provide more detailed guidance or confirm whether this is a limitation of the device.
      3. Feedback on Camera Selection Buttons
User Feedback: Since this is a feature you find lacking, consider providing this feedback to PTZOptics. User feedback can be instrumental in guiding product updates and improvements.
      Additional Recommendations
      1. Explore Community Forums: Sometimes, user communities, forums, or online groups can provide practical insights or workarounds based on their experiences with the same equipment.
      2. Check for Software Updates: Regularly update any associated software or firmware to ensure you have the latest features and fixes.
      Conclusion
For the specific features and concerns you have with the PTZOptics SuperJoy, the best course of action is to consult the user manual, check for any available firmware updates, and reach out to PTZOptics support for detailed assistance. Additionally, providing your feedback to PTZOptics can help them understand the needs and preferences of their users for future product enhancements.

I like the foucus and zoom rotary knobs, a little disapointing that the speed buttons are push buttons.
Colored or grey toned buttons per section and bigger lettering would improve the ergonomic.
    (this is constructive criticism ;)

      Hi Jan,
Thank you for sharing your constructive feedback about the PTZOptics SuperJoy Controller. Your insights are valuable, especially when it comes to user experience and ergonomic design. Let's break down your points:
      Focus and Zoom Rotary Knobs:
It's great to hear that you appreciate the focus and zoom rotary knobs on the SuperJoy Controller. These knobs are designed for precise control, which is crucial for fine-tuning focus and zoom during live productions.
      Speed Buttons as Push Buttons:
You mentioned that the speed buttons being push buttons are a bit disappointing. It sounds like you would prefer a different type of control for this function, perhaps something that offers a more tactile or responsive feel.
Suggestion for Colored or Grey-Toned Buttons:
The idea of using colored or grey-toned buttons per section is an excellent suggestion. Color-coding can enhance the usability of the controller, making it easier to quickly identify and access different control sections, especially in low-light conditions or during fast-paced live events.
      Bigger Lettering for Improved Ergonomics:
Bigger lettering can indeed improve the readability and overall ergonomics of the controller. This change would be particularly beneficial in environments where operators need to quickly glance at the controller and make adjustments without hesitation.
Your feedback touches on important aspects of product design like usability, accessibility, and operator comfort. While I don't have the capability to directly implement changes or influence PTZOptics' design decisions, your points are certainly valid and could be valuable to the manufacturer for future product enhancements.
If you haven't already, consider sharing your feedback directly with PTZOptics. Manufacturers often appreciate user feedback as it helps them to understand the needs and preferences of their customers, potentially guiding future product development and improvements.

Hello illustrious, greetings according to the time of day.
I could see the Ptzoptics Superjoystick controller board that has the protocols extension for all the ip ptz, ndi.... and I would like to acquire it to use with the ptzcam and avkans that we have for corporate work.
The question is: Is it compatible with any brand?

Hello, the PTZOptics SuperJoy will support PTZOptics cameras, and any NDI camera that is supported by Sony protocols.

Quick question about your cameras. I own a PTZoptics NDI 20x with the auto track. I noticed that one of your cameras was following you from the waste up whereas the other had more of a full body shot. Is that because of distance to the camera to subject or can you set up a frame for it to follow. As far as we've seen, it can only do the follow in full frame. We've also been told that a firmware upgrade to adjust that is coming out May/June. Is this correct?

Hi John, new firmware coming soon! Maybe end of the month!
The auto-tracking feature in PTZOptics cameras, including the PTZOptics NDI 20x, typically involves the camera automatically following a subject within its field of view. The framing of the subject (waist-up, full body, etc.) can depend on several factors:
      *1. Distance and Zoom*
Distance to Subject: The distance between the camera and the subject plays a significant role in how the subject is framed. If the camera is farther away, the subject will occupy a smaller portion of the frame, potentially showing more of their body.
Zoom Level: The camera's zoom level will also affect framing. A tighter zoom might frame the subject from the waist up, while a wider zoom shows more of the surrounding area.
      *2. Auto-Tracking Settings*
Tracking Modes: Some PTZOptics cameras offer different tracking modes. These might include options for how the camera frames the subject it’s tracking.
Adjustable Parameters: Depending on the camera model and firmware, you might be able to adjust parameters that influence how the camera tracks and frames the subject.
      *3. Firmware Updates*
Firmware Enhancements: PTZOptics occasionally releases firmware updates that can enhance the functionality of their cameras, including auto-tracking features.
Specific Updates: As for updates regarding adjustable framing for auto-tracking, this would depend on PTZOptics’ release schedule and feature roadmap. I recommend checking PTZOptics’ official website or contacting their customer support for the most current information on upcoming firmware updates.
      *4. Manual Overrides*
Manual Control: Depending on the situation, you might be able to manually adjust the camera (using a remote controller or software) to complement or override the auto-tracking, ensuring the desired framing.
      *5. External Tracking Solutions*
Third-Party Integrations: In some setups, external tracking solutions are used in conjunction with PTZ cameras to achieve more precise or customizable tracking behavior.
      *Next Steps*
Check for Updates: Visit the PTZOptics website or contact their support to inquire about the latest firmware and any new features related to auto-tracking.
Firmware Upgrade: If a relevant firmware upgrade is available, follow the instructions provided by PTZOptics to update your camera.
