I have been watching beauty videos for 4 years and this is the first time I've seen a minimal/travel makeup that's actually realistic. Like... What people do in real life. I have been fooled by many a beach trip makeup bag tutorial. I don't wear as much makeup everyday as most beauty vloggers do in their minimal makeup looks. This video was perrrrfeeeeccctttttt! Enjoyed seeing all the things you didn't use also!
I always get Lisa Eldridge vibes when I watch your videos! I love both yours and Sharon's approach to makeup! Very refreshing in this community. Job well done!

Most realistic video! She even did the scenarios in the intro which btw were absolutely beautiful. The second & third look were my fave. Every time I go on a trip i pack two bags full of makeup which it takes up half my suitcase, and end up only using a bb cream and concealer. Lightly fill in the brows and pop in some falsies. I would do this same exactly routine. I love your personality, you're very charming, intelligent, and sarcastic. Keep making more videos ❤️❤️❤️

I'm so glad to find a youtuber who really focuses on minimal make-up (not that more make-up is necessarily bad!) which enhances the natural features because that's more my style. I'll be heading to Korea in a month's time and this travel make-up video came in really useful! I used to lug tons of make-up overseas and find that I ended up not using most of them so I'm going to try out your idea this time! :)
I totally agree with you on the lash extensions! When I have them, I feel like all I need to do in the morning is moisturise my face, little bit of concealer here and there and brows.. total time saver 😍

This is legit minimalist packing. I am so guilty of over packing makeup. I flew to Vegas for my bday and took wayyyyy too much. It's like a 2 hour flight and I was there for a weekend. It's ridiculous. I'm going to Europe next year so I have to learn to pack much less. Like you, I can skip blush. I have perpetually rosy cheeks that I normally try to cover up. I need to try my mini watts up on my eyes this weekend. It was surprisingly beautiful! As always, you're one of my very favorites!
I've been doing a lot of travelling for work and holidays over the last year and I alwaaaaays pack half my skincare and makeup with me, but I aaaaaaalways end up using basically the same minimal things over and over. I realise it's because when we're out and about, especially if you're walking a lot of not too sure of the climate, you really don't know if your face will hold up and don't want to end up with a melted, streaky mess. I keep telling myself I need to be more disciplined when I pack but I also just can't get over the whole "oh but what if I feel like this or that?" Loved this video, Karima, keeping it real!
Question: what about skincare? I think you should dedicate a similar video on what you packed for skincare products. I would be very interested in watching a video of your suggestions on how to minimally pack skincare for travelling, especially for such a long period of time, and even more so cause I know you are a chemical exfoliation fan and whatnot...I personally find that skipping my regular skincare routine (exfoliation particularly) and going for the minimal cleanse-and-moisturize regime throws my skin into complete disarray... Really hoping to see something like that! Love you, your work is amazing as always! xxx
I decant my regular cleanser and moisturiser and pack some Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Pads (they come in separate sachets, which is super travel friendly). Add some SPF (I like the Mecca sunscreen) and done. Four products :) x
You're seriously one of the best! To me, this is a realistic minimal makeup look. In fact, it's pretty much exactly what I wear when i'm on holiday 😄 love your channel 😘

I think that diy cushion compact is the best thing i've seen in a while, i've been so hesitant to try a cushion compact but now i'm intrigued since I could make my own custom formula.

This is actually a super helpful video and pragmatic too for short or long trips. It also leaves room to purchase some makeup while traveling.(for those who like to try out makeup from elsewhere).
It's been many years since I traveled to Europe, but I found that nobody wore the full glam makeup that Americans wore, so I was glad I had not packed a lot. If I went full American makeup I would have stood out terribly, especially in France - they basically seem to do what you do here, fresh face, maybe some lipstick.
VERY true, I notice a lot less makeup-wearing in general within Europe (not to say that you shouldn't wear a full face of makeup if you want to, just an observation). xx

So pretty! Love your lashes too, I thought they were your eyelashes until you said they were extensions! Also I just got back from a 9 week trip around Europe and the first week or so while in the U.K. I wore some concealer, cream blush, highlight, mascara and brow gel(mainly to hide my massive dark circle tired eyes after the flight!). Then after a while it was literally just moisturiser and sunscreen!! Even though I brought foundy, bronzer, eyeshadows etc etc!! Like you said, all you want to spend your time doing is exploring and not worrying about your makeup! So glad there is someone else out there who is a makeup lover but can't be bothered with it on hols! 👍🏻

I'm so glad you brought up the sort of "DIY" cushion foundation. It's something I've been wanting to try but I was worried that "regular" foundations would be too thick or otherwise not formulated to work will in a cushion. I really enjoy the way cushion makeup goes on. You have more control in how much makeup goes on your applicator compared to when you use a palette or the back of your hand. Plus it coats the brush or sponge more evenly easily without you needing to use a lot. There are a lot of pros with cushion makeup, in my book.
I’m in love with the idea of the cushion compact! I travel so much and I carry practically a suit case for makeup. Could you do a video of what products you put into your membox cushion compact?? Please

I was hoping you'd do a travel makeup bag video!! I didn't know about the empty cushion foundations. That's brilliant! I find that many foundations already in cushions are nice but often too heavily fragranced, too grey, or too sticky. But now I can use my faves! I travel a lot and I need to learn to exercise more restraint when I travel 😆

My minimal bag: foundation sample, concealer, mascara (though I'm loving no mascara looks recently), tinted MLBB lip balm to use on lips and cheeks, a red matte lip option.xx

Shadow sticks are great for traveling! One color blended all over the eye and you're done - looks like you put it some effort but actually uses minimal effort!
Hi Karima! I went and bought that compact as soon as I saw this, eBay is a very confusing place for these overseas sellers, can't wait to try it!! This look is stunning as always, I really struggle with "paring down" my travel routine, I will always wear a cream eyeshadow (fav is byterry ombré black star) and do a little kitten wing (byterry eyeliner does NOT shift at all, and so waterproof) xx

Overtime I come home I say to myself...next time I won't bring allll of this stuff!...but then I do haha. I have vacation at the end of the month. I am determined to take on the challenge of less makeup...more realistic to what I actually use :) thanks for the inspiration.

I was hoping you'd do a travel makeup bag video!! I didn't know about the empty cushion foundations. That's brilliant! I find that many foundations already in cushions are nice but often too heavily fragranced, too grey, or too sticky. But now I can use my faves! I travel a lot and I need to learn to exercise more restraint when I travel 😆
I always struggle to find the right shade in cushion products so this is really the best of both worlds! x

Karima this is gorgeous! Love mixing my own BB cushion too - MAC Face and Body plus a little off that Loreal matte one for additional coverage. My minimal bag: foundation sample, concealer, mascara (though I'm loving no mascara looks recently), tinted MLBB lip balm to use on lips and cheeks, a red matte lip option.xx

Idk if I'm the only one but I would die of happiness if you made a vlog channel and documented your travels and your daily life sometimes. It would be interesting to see what you do day to day outside of your makeup channel ❤️ love you loads btw your makeup tutorials are always easy to watch and recreate which is so helpful for us girls who aren't great at makeup. 😂

Shadow sticks are great for traveling! One color blended all over the eye and you're done - looks like you put it some effort but actually uses minimal effort!

Hi Karima! I went and bought that compact as soon as I saw this, eBay is a very confusing place for these overseas sellers, can't wait to try it!! This look is stunning as always, I really struggle with "paring down" my travel routine, I will always wear a cream eyeshadow (fav is byterry ombré black star) and do a little kitten wing (byterry eyeliner does NOT shift at all, and so waterproof) xx
