I have been putting off reacting to this video by mossbag, but I am glad I finally got to it! The Hollow Knight lore is intense and in depth, even thought there are some details we just look over.... I can't wait to play Hollow Knight and learn more about the 5 endings. Enjoy!

Hollow Knight, like undertale and many, many others, proves that video can, indeed, be legitimate works of art and deserve recognition as such.
Absolutely! Also, games like Celeste even prove that video *games* can, themselves, be legitimate art, beyond solely their video, audio, and/or literature.
Don’t conflate “video games are an art” for “video games contain pieces of art.” They’re art for different reasons.

I always looked at the Wyrm turning into the Pale King as a metamorphosis kinda like a caterpillar to a butterfly. It's what made sense to me

The Hollow Knight OST is amazing, I highly suggest it.
Good choice on not watching the video fully, the game's endings are stuff you really should experience for yourself! Though, the game IS extremely difficult, especially the final ending. I'd reccomend to play it as much as you can, and to do your best to finish or even complete it, but to not push yourself too much!
Also, yes, the visuals and music in mossbag's video are from the game itself! The art style is truly beautiful, and the game's sequal looks like it'll actually one-up the art style!
...And yeah! The game is getting a sequal! "Hollow Knight: Silksong", it's coming soon, June 2023 at the latest. You don't need to play the original to understand Silksong apparently, but it would still be reccomended in order to truly apreciate the apparent changes and innovations Silksong is making.

at 1:04:00 that was footage of a currently unreleased hollow knight sequel in the works in that game youll play as hornet
In fact, the game had been funded on Kickstarter, and one of the stretch goals had been to have her be a playable character for DLC, but Team Cherry crammed so much content into it, that they delayed it and announced it to be a full fledged sequel. Technically, as it’s been kind of in developmental hell, they have yet to fulfill that promise, but as you can tell, there’s already so much content, and several free DLCs on top of it, it’s real hard to complain.

New to the game myself but since it has so much minimalistic storytelling anyway (and I don’t really care for spoilers) I really enjoy listening to this stuff. You can tell they were inspired by games developed by FromSoftware since they tend to do the storytelling in their games the same way like their famous Dark Souls series.

I think you misunderstood what the pale king did to the bugs, he basically took animals and gave them a conscience and intelligence, they worshiped him for that, they weren't suffering. what the radience infection did was the equivalent to do lobotomy on the entire nation.
so, in the rule of the king they were free, before, and a civilization has its ups and downs, but thats no reason to end it all
im just saying this because of 31:05 , its not exactly like the pale king is necessarily a saint or something, but must of what he did later was kind of necessary, in summary, it's complicated and gray

@@syrenamichele Yeah, not sure about for you, but ADHD’s been tough all my life. It’s especially tough if it’s not caught in childhood, as many doctors don’t even test for it in adults.
Some of the smarter kids compensate for it by fast thinking, but fail to learn the critical life skills intended to be taught. It’s like cheating on a test, but it doesn’t actually seem like cheating, because the process that’s sidestepped is all intellectual. It’s a huge problem once they’re supposed to become independent.

I hear it is really challenging. I am not sure if I should play it since I'm not much of a gamer but do you have any tips or advice?
@@syrenamichele it's challenging but it's a matter of learning bosses attacks patterns. there are some hints during the game play. the enemies in the areas have similar attacks to boss of that area, so it seems natural when you fight them
