it's annoying how the game doesn't allow simultaneous mouse/keyboard and controller inputs. setting the left stick to wasd mode (only when aiming) and the aim/attack buttons to left and right click is a pretty good workaround
@@melrexmelrex No, unfortunately :( Microsoft have been really lucky that PlayStation developers haven't embraced this yet. But if they don't have gyro in their next console's controller, they might not be so lucky.
Doesn't this game have gyro built-in when using the right steam control schemes?? I've heard something about it having gyro on the ps4 and was considering buying an 8bitdo controller to play on PC with gyro
I wouldn't call it "built-in" since Steam's configuration stuff works with just about every game. And it can be clunky to set up in this one in particular because gyro is best mapped to mouse, but this game doesn't do mouse aim and controller at the same time, last I checked
Yep, unfortunately. You can work around it in some games by mapping the left stick through Steam, but MGSV doesn't do well with mixed controller and mouse input.
@@JibbSmartGD Tragic. Well I just found your site today because I wanted better aiming in MGSV and I'd like to say thank you for fighting the good fight.
I'm new to Gyro, but wouldn't it be theoretically possible to create a config that switches you over to mouse and keyboard and eliminates controller outputs when you press a button? That is, if MGSV is the type of game that doesn't allow you to use controller and mouse inputs simultaneously, but does switch over if you stop using one type and start using another... Say you have the aim button activate gyro and map all buttons to keyboard keys. Also, through Steam input's Mode Shift, the aim button makes all controller buttons blank, thus eliminating xinput. So when you're sneaking around, it's all xinput, and when you aim, it's all gyro mouse + keyboard keys. Maybe if that doesn't work, just pressing something like the touchpad on a DS4/DS5 when you're standing still shifts over to gyro + keyboard mappings. So you have a dedicated go-to-aiming-action button. But you know, I'm just a noob... Just brainstorming.
@@youn00ber you actually can, i had a steam config made for it a few years ago and played the entire game with it. the video's probably still on my channel
Hey, I have a sort of idea for the keyboard style constrain. What if you use the gyro as a stick that only while moving the controller it will register a movement, the faster you move it, it will register a stronger stick input, so it will actually mimic the gyro-mouse control, only emulating it as a stick. This will allow playing more games with both the advantages of having a controller and a gyro-"mouse"

I wish they added this to ps4 and other consoles
It works with a PS4 controller even better :) Developers just need to start using it
@@JibbSmartGD is there a way to try gyro on xbox one

I will pay Microsoft to add gyro support
If I could afford like 1 million
I'd probably buy an Xbox if they did (and games actually used it properly)
I want this game on the Switch.
That'd be awesome. And seems technically possible since the game was also on PS3 and Xbox 360.
Now on steam deck
@@apchistuz Yeah, I played it on there. It's everything I wanted. And my progress carried over too.
Can the replica DS4 or replica Switch pro controller, which both have 6 axis gyro, support it?
Some players have had success with third-party Switch controllers, but some don't work. I'm afraid I don't know which ones work and which ones don't.
ipega pg-9162b (~14$ in my country) works perfectly

I imagine this leaves you constrained to keyboard-style movement, huh?

That's already a thing, in steam and ds4windows it's called mouselike joystick, and the Xim Nexus has it built in like that
