I saw this movie when it came out the first time in 1988, at the Patrick Henry Village AFEES movie theater near Heidelberg, Germany. It being Germany, my 6-month-old German Shorthaired pointer puppy was wirhm and watched it with me. He enjoyed the movie just as much as I did, and got most of my popcorn, to boot. The high point was when the closing credits rolled up, and they played the "Iko Iko" song... My dog's name? Eico, pronounced just like in the song.
2:17 You can see (upper left) the soon to be completed Mirage in the distance… The M and I are lit up on the top left of the building’s sign.… Testing the lights apparently. K9 Movie was 1989... this footage most definitely shot of The Strip in 1988…The Mirage opened in 89. Dunes, Sands,... everything, still there at this point in time. Believe me when I say this; Vegas was 1000 times better here than it is now! Free parking, free meal comps, free show tickets, free nights stay, free upgrades… All for just playing in the casinos! All these older hotels had their own unique character… And they FELT like Vegas! Now it’s sterile, charge for everything, corporate, wall-to-wall crowds, BS! The MOB ran this town like a Mom and Pop operation… Bad people they were, but the corporations are no better… In fact, the corporations and corporate structure are far worse in terms of running this city! By the day, this city is turning into another Times Square meets Disneyland. This footage is so bittersweet😢
I've seen this movie a thousand times and I mean that I literally watched this movie to death when I was younger and now it seems extremely well done since a serious situation in a dramatic comedy movie ending with the happy couple going to Vegas and the credits roll on the Vegas strip.
I didn't like how it ended because it kinda ended unfinished it felt like a lot more was gonna happen Plus the guys in the hella copter got away they just acted like nothing happened When I first saw the ending I was so confused until I realized there's a sequel but it's a whole different story lol
For some reason this was one of my favourite childhood films .... I watched it again and again in my pre double digits, strangely it's not so good now when im in my mid thirties :D
I saw this film when I was about 10 years old and remember really digging the music in the credits, but I forgot the tune after about 10 minutes and have been unable to remember it since. I'm now 29, finally been reacquainted. It's alright. Haha.

I wish the movie studio would make soundtracks for this trilogy. What movie doesn't have soundtracks...besides this one? WTH?
