If you love tanks you must go to Kubinka 30 minutes by car outside Moscow
You can ride a tank for few money
The second best tank museum is 4 hours by train outside London ,Bobington camp
The third best tank museum ,Patton museum is outside Louisville ,Kentucky .
I did all of that visits ,highly recommended

Would be great if they could make almost every tank operative to drive once again after such long years of standing still in a museum

I've read their post about the MAUS and why they won't restore it. They are completely willing to neglect German tanks over Russian tanks because of pride and whatnot. If I ever become rich (Knowing these bastards) most likely to buy out there German equipment.

I was there in 2001 and it was impressive then. It looks like the displays have gotten better since my visit. I hope to visit again on a future trip to the Moscow area.

Awesome collection!! I wish we here in America would have kept more of or WW2 equipment, captured and ours for a place like this. All of our WW2 planes and tanks where mostly scraped in the 50's and 60's. What a waist!!

Unfortunately, we don't own as many as we once did as you pointed out.. But, we still have a shit load from the Second World War here in America..
Their just scattered to thin at half ass museums allowing most to rot away outdoors, most haven't ran in years, or had the correct paint restored in years..
Were to busy since the end of the war playing the worlds big brother, and giving our milk and honey away to every illegal migrate to create such a government funded program to keep ours in tits condition and to provide a way for any American citizen that is interested in checking them out in person..

Kublinka has best German and USSR Collections, Bovington has best British and WW1 collections., Overall Bovington has edge as vehicles are generally in better condition and better displayed including many which run regular on displays outside the museum. Samur Musee Des Blindes is also very impressive with best French collection, 2nd best German collection (after Kublinka) and the 2nd best WW1 collection (after Bovington). Surprisingly considering they have easily the best military aviation museums, and best collection of 20th warships (prior to 20th century UK Portsmouth takes some beating) the US Tank museums are well behind. It is arguable that Bovington has a more complete and better displayed US Armour collection than anywhere in the US. Finally the German collection at Munster whilst smaller than Kublinka, Bovington or Samur is well worth a visit and has the best display of post war German armour in the world.

Amazing target! Instead of super weapons they should have focused on super Refineries to make more OIL, there for they could have used it to fuel there military! They lost cause they had no OIL

    • @Hans45
      @Hans45 5 лет назад +2

Rick Moreno you cant make fuel if you dont have any oil in the first place, so making more refineries wont help. the only thing they could have done was capturing the russian oil fields before it was too late

No, the Maus has never seen any fighting. The Russians found this giant in some kind of garage. Probably they did some test firering.

Also probably some of them are shots fired from the Germans trying to destroy the tank, and they made it , the tank in the museum is a mix between the two destroyed Mauses

Listen to raspy idle at the beginning of the video.. It's a shame Germany didn't have enough of AV Gas to support some serious compression instead of what was installed in their tanks engines!
Thankfully, not all was lost in less than twenty years after the end of the Second World War Hot Rodding was borne in America. The Maybach offspring was borne too in the form of a Chrysler Hemi!
