You got me thru second year A&P.
And third year advanced pys.
Few months away from finishing my degree.
Ty Dr Mike.
Awesome! Wishing you all the best :)
Thank you so much for your videos! I’m an RN but reviewing some concepts that I may not have reviewed in the last few years, and I really appreciate that you explain the “Why.” I have trouble remembering things just for the sake of remembering them, if I don’t understand why it’s important to remember that concept in the first place! I’ve watched videos on a few channels but yours was the first to explain a little more in-depth about WHY things are the way they are.
I'm a mobile software engineer, but love watching science videos.
I've just finished a year of physics, now onto biology and I have chosen you both to take me on my journey.
Such outstanding videos, how could I not??
Now tell me ,the bonding of potassium and try to explain it, thank you
Thanks so much for this Share, I was struggling with horrible heart palps, after 15 months of suffering. I finally was guided to potassium. Started on a good electrolyte about a week ago and im already seeing results. Thank God
Thanks sir! You are an angel for students like me who has to attend college but gets not much benefit! You are a lifesaver for my medschool thanks a lot. We anticipate more and more videos of yours. In future! Please stay healthy
YOU ARE AMAZING!! This is what we need in schools...the connecting of physiology and its uses in health care.
Thank you Dr. Mike- you really have the art for teaching!! Wish more instructors were able to teach like you!!!
I am doing my PhD in literature, BUT here is where I like to spend whatever free time I have- fascinated by this marvelous thing we call the human body; and this handsome and passionate teacher makes it even more FUN!
I'm an instructor and teach some basic A&P in our school's courses. I like sharing Dr. Mike's video's when my students need more ways to help explain things. =) The fact that you are animated and I can see your passion for what you teach, matches how my preferences also.
the drug examples really solidify the examples. Brilliant!
Dr Mike and Dr Matt superheroes you guys are!
I’m a registered nurse in the UK, you two simply makes life so interesting and by assimilating your contents the health sector could be a promising one for the service users.
I would love to work with you guys one day!
This one is the best educational video on this subject I have watched. Thanks.
This really has blown my mind
I've watched all your videos dozens of times over and over to learn the fundamentals. I appreciate how the newer videos really bring concepts together and dive deeper into the physiology and practical application. Thank you a million times!
Thank you for this great overview of the ATPase pump, functions associated with it , and medications used to manipulate this mechanism. This was a super helpful explanation to me, as a nursing student.
Thank you Dr. Mike for explaining the Sodium-Potassium Channel Pump efficiently and effectively. I never completely understand how the Pump works, but thanks to you, I do now.❤
Thank you for being Dr. Mike, it is a real pleasure for me to watch your videos.
Wow !!! I can perfectly understand your teaching, so, so useful to me !!!
This was the most exciting thing I learned in Biochemistry while in Undergrad
Absolute Genius Dr Mike. I’m studying 2 be an advanced nursing practitioner & literally all your videos (including this amazing one) make the jargon in books & articles actually understandable & relevant. Absolutely amazing Thank You
I just love the garage-cleaning comparison. Those also (but not only those) make these lessons memorable. Thanks so much!

Thank you very much for being such an energetic lecturer. Your lecture must be meant a lot for not only me, but other nursing and med students out there struggling to grab medical concepts. I've watched quite a lot of videos but have to stop and reside here with Dr.Mike! I'm really appreciated.
Myself👋🏽
Thanks a lot for this video. My father suffered a shortage of potassium and fainted. He almost died. Since then I have been doing bits of research of potassium here and there and that's how I found this video. Wonderful clear infomation. Respect from China, with a well deserved subscription.

Hello Dr. Mike, I'm a huge fan❤ Your videos help me learn concepts in short time and concise manner👌
I saw today you've uploaded a podcast on Electrolytes Physiology, if this video is a part of that podcast then amazing, if not Sir please upload an entire video of Electrolytes Physiology, would be really helpful🙏
Thank you for all these incredible videos🙏❤👍
Love your videos guys!!! They're so easy to understand even for noobs like me. They've helped me a lot in my canine nutrition studies

I wish I had found your videos sooner, Dr. Mike you are an outstanding teacher and I thank you SO SO much for your videos and amazing explanations. Also, who needs forearm and hand intrinsics workouts when you can hold SIX markers in one hand :-D LOL

Hello .I really enjoyed your lecture .I have a question why do sodium level needs to be high between 145 to 150 after brain surgery . ? Thanks
wow that digoxin part was smooth :)
good explanation
I'm studying the effects of magnesium on muscle relaxation and hydration. My understanding is that magnesium is a co-factor for enzyme action at the cell wall, facilitating or rather regulating the sodium-potassium pump. I can see magnesium's role in ATP production, used in the sodium-potassium pump, but can't find any other mention of magnesium action or regulation of the sodium-potassium pump. How does it work?
As a massage therapist, I have first hand experience with people who are presumably deficient in magnesium, with muscles that palpate similar to bone. I have also seen the dramatic effect that recommended daily intake of magnesium (420mg for men, 320mg for women - elemental) can have, with a change in muscle tone to something mushy and jelly like within a relatively short period of time.
I have seen some suggestion that magnesium assists with the sodium-potassium pump to shift water into the cell as K+ is pumped inside, but again, I haven't heard any formal description of this. Can you please describe how magnesium assists with hydration at a molecular level?
Thanks!
Hi Dr. Matt & Dr. Mike
Is it possible for you to make a video about Gitelman's syndrome ?
Thank for this video - I will see it some times to understand this Potassium/sodium connection.
I have had this deficiency for some years now and since last year it have going the wrong way.
I take 16 x 750mg potassium and 28 grams of sodium/himalaya salt a day - it's a lot, I hope in the future to get it through a port. 🙏
Thank you sir
Tack!
best teacher👌👌👌👌
Thank you sir..
Thank you
I'm huge fan..❤
Nice job
Best Dr
Can you discuss the conditions that can happen when sodium/potassium is abnormal and why they may have failed please.
I have Secondary Hyperaldosteronism. Abnormally High Aldosterone and High Renin (and Hypertension). All investigations of the kidneys have so far found any physical reason.
A possible theory is that it is being caused by Dysfunction of the Autonomic Nervous System, along with the usual Autonomic issues.
I also have Neuropathy (Poly not just stocking and glove) not yet diagnosed.
I am a conundrum, with losing potassium and lowering my sodium lowers my renin, the opposite of what is needed for Dysautonomia.
Your explanation would be amazing. Thanks Dr Matt.
Ps I have a son studying IT at Griffith. 😊
I know you posted this a year ago.
Wonder if you could be low in B1 causing autonomic issues for you.
Dr. Mike can you please make a video explaining why chocolate is bad for dogs?
