@@mohamud60 While it's true that they were on consoles, I see no other reason for them to only allow 8 skills. Think about it, there's 8 "buttons" used for skills in games often, being A, X, B, Y, LT, RT, LB, RB or the PS equivalent. Or to perhaps shine a different light on the issue at hand, consider if the game were exclusively on PC. Do you think they would've restricted the game to only incorporate 8 spells? No, I do not think so. The reason I say this, is that bioware themselves have openly stated that Dragon Age as a series, Specifically Origins, was meant to grab the casual crowd as WELL as the hardcore PC rpg crowd. Around that time, most PC RPGs were VERY in depth and are more based upon the mechanics you see in DA:O (Slower, tactical based, variety of spells, etc). This "old school" rpg crowd, they wanted that but also wanted to attract the newer groups. That's how Dragon Age Origins was created. Now, with that in mind, look at how the game has slowly morphed. I'm not saying it's bad, I've enjoyed every game for different reasons, but you can clearly see the transition into a more "console-minded" style of game. There's less buttons, less "open hud" where a keyboard could be useful, less abilities, toned down dialogue options and it's faster paced, not as much of a "zoom out, pause and plan out" style as it used to be. It can still "kind of" be played that way, but considering they've essentially removed the "tactics" mechanic, it's less of a playstyle at this point compared to before. Consoles have most definitely changed this series. My presumption would be that they saw the sales on console and how big consoles were getting, so they decided to cater to that audience. A shame, but the games still good. Guess we'll see what happens in 2021+ with dragon age 4.
i feel like I haven't seen such a amazing skills show off videos for ages! Not playing this game but decided to check out the skills since my friend playing as mage :P (besides mage and the elemental skills always get me in every single game haha) And after seeing this I can understand why he picked to play mage! it's hard to pick favourites but i think I will settle for Haste, that snow store and the falling meteors!
Back then, I always used to reconsider mage classes as boring. Dragon Age is the first game where I ever started to see mages from a cool point of view and started to prefer over the warrior class. Love the battle animations and subclasses all together especially the Knight-Enchanter and Tempest Rogue. I realy hope they'll come to the idea to make a Dragon Age MMORPG someday reusing those skills and also settling down with the annoying mage nerfing.
i was so hyped when i found out there was going to be a new dragon age game but lost the hype later on when i realized they had limit us with using 8 skills only which i hated, they made DAI with console in mind which i didnt like dragon age series was originally made for pc, , i loved Dragon age origins where i can use and put multiple skills on my hot bar, that was one of the things that made the origins great! i just hope they do well on dragon age 4, but im keeping my hopes low.
You shouldn't compare any game's magic system to Dragon's Dogma. That game has the most awesome magic system ever. DA seems more comparable to Skyrim. DA is more varied in the vanilla game but if you add some of the more common skyrim magic mods (apocolypse spells, forgotten magic) the are very comparable.
How is the magic system "awesome" in Dragon's Dogma? I understand that spells look and are powerful but the magic system itself is literally "hold this button to cast". Also, the basic attacks look garbage in Dragon's Dogma.
@@sir3543 Dragon's Dogma has the similar system of combining magic to produce greater effect and unlike most other rpgs, it's magic directly has impact on enemies you use it against and not just a numerical effect that they ignore.
@@sir3543 You should see the basic attacks when the weapon is enchanted. Also the more powerful spells are so powerful that they'd be broken if they didn't have to be cast and could be spammed.
Thanks dude 4 da vids. beat game as necromancer, then found out solas leaves. now going back so that my male Qunari can be a rift mage. might as well be one if solas is going 2 leave. I also think Qunari mages r cool because we don't c a lot of em during thr DA series.
technicly u do face them in da 2 when qunari invade Kirkwall. but now u get 2 play as one. I hav the best abilits from all spells except rift mage. still finding the picecs. lvl 17

Nothing beats Ice magic in Origins. Morrigan with Ice magic was unstoppable in my party, she carried whole team. Though personally I feel like there should be far less magic in DA games. I mean, we can only use like what? 6-8 spells at once? The game is already hella long with lots of info to keep in mind. I have no time or patience to go through 80 whatever spells that I think I might need. I usually choose a standard set and if something better comes along, I replace it. That was a beauty of Mass Effect, a set of several powers to keep track of and your decision making to make is as effective as possible. No book studying of endless powers.
Well, that depends... on nightmare all area effect spells are insanely dangerous to your party. So that leaves 2 spells out from the cold tree(unless you are the one who direct Cone of cold, you can end up freezing your entire party and the snowstorm is so large, its pretty much useless unless you fight ranged enemies who do not approach your party). So that leaves yo with Winter's grasp(very good spell indeed) and the not so useful Frozen weapons. So I guess it depends on the difficulty. On nightmare I prefer spells that disable the enemies without friendly fire(sleep, walking nightmare) and heal the party(heal, group healing). I love diverse magic in DA. It really is like learning magic.
in a way I'm disappointed that firestorm was turned in a meteor rain, especially small once like those considering firestorm in DA Origins was a huge flame pillar shooting from the ground as if a volcano erupted.
+Spectre Walkthroughs the bluemoon tower. Tis written that this tower was built long, long ago, at a lord's behest. No accounts remain of why, however. None know what purpose it served. Some say it was to ward against the wyrm; others, an altar to the old gods.
Upon arriving at Skyhold, you will be able to unlock Class Specialization Side Quests at the War Table, and summon three trainers, depending on your class. Each trainer will offer a unique quest to unlock a specialization tree, and you can only choose one path, even if you complete all three quests.
Manabe Denim Knight-Enchanter if you like to be a more melee/close combat mage. Necromancer if you like the dark arts. Rift Mage if you like the fade or stone elements. I choose Necromancer because I like to terrify anyone who oppose me >:)
In the begining of the video you're showing 8 (i'm thinking) skill options. What i don't understand is how you are able to pick them. Are you allowed to pick a certain number of them? Or do you get some of them automatically? For some reason it would seem to me, that the first 4 you're showing (the elements) aren't optional. And that you are able to choose 1 of the others. Could you please tell me if i'm correct? I'm sorry if my english is bad. Oh and your video was awesome. Thx
Yes, you start with the first 4 skill trees. Then you have the other 4, 3 of them are specialezastion skill trees. You can only choose one of them. But you have the last one, its a skill tree with just one spell in it and every class gets it (Rouge, warrior and mage). I just thought it looked like an mage type spell so I showed it. :)
By advancing the story until you get the Specializations quest in the war table at Skyhold. Lets you choose from the Necromancer, Rift Mage, or Knight-Enchanter school of magic.
I like the bow skill tree. I feel like such a badass shooting everyone down. But if you like close combat assassin type then the dagger skill tree is for you. And I'm SO SO SOOOO sorry for the late reply :P

guys a dout i just started to play inquisition...but can i learn all specialisation in one character or are they limited to one specialisation per character?
So no blood magic, no spirit healer, no shape shifter, no arcane warrior, no keeper and no battle mage? Tf is with the devs now adays? This is what bethesda does
I want to buy this game and I have a question. I want to play as a mage and I want to know if, as a mage, I can play with all those powers shown in the video or I will be limited at power usage?
At the beginning of the game you get to choose skills from 4 different skill trees (Spirit/Storm/Inferno/Frost). But as you progress the story, you can get 1 more out of 3 possible specializations (Necromancer/Rift Mage/Knight-Enchanter) that will open another skill tree. These are both passives and active skills but you are limited to equip only 8 active skills at one time. You can always mix and match skills depending on your play style and it is easy to respec mid game if your current set up doesn't work out for you.
are you guys using any graphics mods coz it looks beautiful , I'm playing on ultra but still don't look this ..like in you gameplay ...pls tell me how you guys do that
Consoles have rly outdated hardware ... even my 3 yrs old PC have better HW ... AMD PHAENOM 840 X4 3,4 Ghz GTX 460 1GB 256x 4x2GB RAM DDR3 1333Hz You can find it for 180 Euro! But PS4 is from 300 Euro with oldest HW so ... And i can run DA:I on low with medium Post-Processing Anti-aliasing and Efects+Mesh+Texture Quality on Medium - 30-40 FPS its deep minimum for me and its rly playable ! With your PS4 you have locked 30 fps and sub-HD textures= headache!
Sillri Ventures now we have ps4 and Xbox one x than can do 4K and 60fps. Really playing on 30 gives you a headache I played this on the Xbox one and it played well for me.
Te liga nessas Lvl 27 is the highest you can get. You get a point every level, so you can only choose 27 skills. And you cant choose just the activate spells that i show in the video. There are skill trees, first you unlock maybe a activate spell then you must choose a passive skill so you can get to another activate spell. Hope I helped (I suck at explaining things) :P
im just starting to play this game.. and im soooooo confused whether to play as mage or rogue :( any advice? i heard mages are too OP and can get boring later on... :/
SecretUnderCover AGENT You can indeed get bored with mage over time because of the cooldowns and that you can't move and auto attack. If you think it's to easy playing mage you can just change the difficulty level. Me personally like rogue more, they got more variations in gameplay like melee and ranged combat. But if you like mages, wizards or magic in general then you should play mage. Hope I could help a little bit at least :P
SwedishGamingCentral thanks for encouraging me to play rogue :) haha but nowwwww i am also confused... is archer rogue better than DW? cuz srsly both are really cool but i have to decide whether which of the two is more entertaining :/
SecretUnderCover AGENT Haha :) Both are equally as good I think, it all depends on which teammates you have with you. But if you're looking for entertainment I'd say that DW is the best choice. DW you can tp, become invisible and sneak up on people then backstabbing them, fly here and there with your daggers and there are some ranged attacks like throwing your daggers. you could always check out my rogue video if you're still unsure :D
BreakdanceTutorials once you get farther in the story you unlock a place called sky hold, and once you get there you have 3 schools to pick from, but you can only get one school, even if you do the quests for the other ones
I assume you mean Necromancy? There is no "darkness magic". You have to speak to the specialization teacher in Skyhold. Viuus Anaxas. He will tell you what to do.
i feel like the only thin the game is lacking is combat, and then abilities/spells we r very limited also the graphic/animation of the abilities and spells feels vastly underwhelming, i havent played the other dragon age games i would assume they made the spell animations better

They could have manage that by holding the button to activate higher magic for some instead of equipping it
i feel like I haven't seen such a amazing skills show off videos for ages!
Thank you so much man! ^^
Hi
This video has such good quality and helped me a lot when starting out
I personaly dont uderstand how you have so little subs
You deserv more :)
Thank you
Necromancer will always be my favorite no matter how weak it may be
The last spell is so *OP* 0.0
Omfg shut up with that pc eliteism because all u pc bitches cry and moan when consoles get an exclusive
@@artemis5265 its not exclusive tho
The whole ice branch is the best reason to play mage
That's a lot of a moves he has , much more then a Mage from dragon dogma ! Thanks nice vid .
+Anthony Williams Thank you for the support!
Thanks dude 4 da vids. beat game as necromancer, then found out solas leaves. now going back so that my male Qunari can be a rift mage. might as well be one if solas is going 2 leave. I also think Qunari mages r cool because we don't c a lot of em during thr DA series.
+Nathaniel “NateSepticEye” Nelson No problem man. I agree that there's almost no Qunari mages :P
technicly u do face them in da 2 when qunari invade Kirkwall. but now u get 2 play as one. I hav the best abilits from all spells except rift mage. still finding the picecs. lvl 17
SwedishGamingCentral hey do u hav it 4 PS3 if u do lets get together. i'll tell u when I go 2 my dad cus it where I hav my ps3. we could get on online. i'm ASSASSIN_WV
+Nathaniel “NateSepticEye” Nelson Sorry, but I have it on PC. Otherwise I would love to play with you :P
I subscribed because of this video keep making informational videos about games you like
Bruh does anyone know why it won't let me access all of my abilities like stormbringer and anything after
in a way I'm disappointed that firestorm was turned in a meteor rain, especially small once like those considering firestorm in DA Origins was a huge flame pillar shooting from the ground as if a volcano erupted.
Lol, that wasn't firestorm, that was Inferno. Both are different spells.
crank your subwoofer and enjoy the rift mage abilities!
Great video thanks man
Virgin DAI Firestorm vs the Chad DDDA High/Grand Bolide. Necromancer looks rad though.
This games magic has nothing on dragons dogma dark Arisons magic

+Susan Slaphappy (Mike) truuuu I've played through the game with each class and I'm more than willing to do it again.
The lack of Crushing Prison hurts me so much.
When do you get more powers? all I have is lightning, frost, fire, and that other thing mainly healing.
Upon arriving at Skyhold, you will be able to unlock Class Specialization Side Quests at the War Table, and summon three trainers, depending on your class. Each trainer will offer a unique quest to unlock a specialization tree, and you can only choose one path, even if you complete all three quests.
And i'm just curious but how did you find my video? :3
Which path do u recommend?
I was actually looking for all Mage spells for dragon age inquisition
I have dragon age inquisition for my xbox 360, how do I get the other schools besides storm, spirit, inferno, and winter?
By advancing the story until you get the Specializations quest in the war table at Skyhold. Lets you choose from the Necromancer, Rift Mage, or Knight-Enchanter school of magic.
thanks
Haste sounds like Transformers sounds
Thank you for the reference guide!!
Awesome video, btw can you tell whats de best specialization for rogue?
The*
I like the bow skill tree. I feel like such a badass shooting everyone down. But if you like close combat assassin type then the dagger skill tree is for you. And I'm SO SO SOOOO sorry for the late reply :P
Blood magic and magic healing is lore thing. How could they take it away?
Fucking amazing
Thank u!
Mam 1 pytanie. Prosze pomozcie... a mianowicie. Gram od jakis 2 tygodni w Dragon Age na Xboxie.... Przeciez nie ebde co chwile w taktyke wchodzil i zmienial
What armor are you wearing in the Spirit section?
@8:58 I used to think my video card was malfunctioning
The only complaint is you never use these skills on enemy unit like your other 2 videos.
***** Yeah I learned that it was better to do it on enemies after I made this video, sorry :P
So I guess this is the first one, still good job anyway. Just some minor gripe= D
***** Thanks and this was indeed the first one :)
Can you be specialized in certain magic like necromancy and still use spells like fade step?
No sorry, you can only choose one specialization and use the specialization spells on that skill tree.
SwedishGamingCentral Aww :(
Lord Morgan omg I thought he asked about something on the rift mage class! Need to clear this up right now. Thanks for telling me :D
Mirta Ginsh I'm soOoO sorry. Yes you can use the fade step skill and choose whichever specialization tree you want. Sorry for misunderstanding your question :P
Some people might think the magic in this game looks good but I disagree, and I don't mean that the magic is DA:O looks more impressive but I'm not even talking about a Dragon Age game
For me the game that really has the best magic is Dragons Dogma, just compare the Firestorm spell in Inquisition to Bolide/High Bolide/Grand Bolide in Dragon Dogma...
If there's anybody who might disagree
Go and play Dragons Dogma
Prove me wrong >:D
I was wondering if u knew of any good age armor I like armor that's use full enough to survive but I was looking for armors and headgears to look like some rogue traveling mage like hoods and robes that kinda stuff so far the best I got is an apprentice coat and I wondered if u had any suggestions on in game shops or areas that might have better looking gear PS sorry for the long comment and I apologize for any typos
Sorry dont know any good armor, But the best armors its tier 3 armor. A cool headgear in my opinion is the Battlemage Cowl and my favorite shop is the merchant in Hissing Wastes :P
Ok thanks I'll have to check out that shop great video by the way nice work
joe f Thank you man, I really appreciate it :)
guys a dout i just started to play inquisition...but can i learn all specialisation in one character or are they limited to one specialisation per character?
Still waiting for a mod that adding at least 2 or more skillslots :S
So no blood magic, no spirit healer, no shape shifter, no arcane warrior, no keeper and no battle mage? Tf is with the devs now adays? This is what bethesda does
So is there no spell in the game in which you can summon either a demon or a golem or maybe even a monitor to fight for you
what is the best combos ?? ice storm+ 2 rings with +20% and static cage for example
What armor is he wearing during the Necromancer spells? And the staff?
*omg its my first time to see graphics visuals like this, is this a pc game? 😱*
Maria Christina DelaCruz Yes.
I love this game, but I will admit that I'm not a fan of the magic being dumbed down. It was so much better in previous Dragon Age games.
Absolutely true... I loved every single tree in DA 2 but this is still awesome.
Is there any RPG game that will make me feel like an actual necromancer?? Like raising an skeleton army or something!!
***** Thanks :)
theRcabz Thank you :)
I see you have nic spells but where is the good armour? is it because of cooldown reduction for the vid?
+Xtre4mKiLLer I tried to equip armor that looks cool with the spells :P
oh ok :P
are you guys using any graphics mods coz it looks beautiful , I'm playing on ultra but still don't look this ..like in you gameplay ...pls tell me how you guys do that
How do you unlock the other ones besides Spirit, Storm, Inferno and Winter
Are you playing this on PC? I'm playing on PS4 and the spell animations look extremely pixelated compared to what I can see here
Yes I'm playing on PC.
Consoles have rly outdated hardware ... even my 3 yrs old PC have better HW ...
AMD PHAENOM 840 X4 3,4 Ghz
GTX 460 1GB 256x
4x2GB RAM DDR3 1333Hz
You can find it for 180 Euro!
I miss blood magic
Blood magic would be pointless here, lorewise.
Can anyone tell me what's "tier 1", "tier 2" etc. Can't find information about it. Thanks!
On the inquistion perks (force) you can raise your focus from 100 to 200 to 300.
And the more focus you have the higher the tiers of the spells are.
@@maddogz671 Thanks)
If only the Steam version of this game would stop crashing after every few minutes of gameplay.
to use the blood magic i have to be a qunari
João Neto Machado You cannot use Blood Magic in Inquisition
It sucks that there's not a necromancer build
If I like beautifulls effects, what do u reccomend me?
I really don't know. Look at the video and pick the one you like the most :P
I didn't get the game yet.. can I got all the spells? how it work? if you wanna explain me of course :P
No blood magic or heal spells. Weldone
Sadly i dont see none of these powers in the game...
How do you get the resurgence spell?
im just starting to play this game.. and im soooooo confused whether to play as mage or rogue :( any advice? i heard mages are too OP and can get boring later on...
Hey swedish i thought the vid was very well made i really liked it thx for the effort
Thank you so much :)
Did i misss something half these i dint have
2 years late but you're supposed to take a war table mission about calling specialized mages into skyhold
Does Resurgence heal every party member? without range limitations?
Yes
how do you cast the same spell very fast?
I used a cooldown cheat for the video
Can you cast spells without weapon ?
Why do I only have 4 options to choose from? Fire water Electric and spirit.
BreakdanceTutorials once you get farther in the story you unlock a place called sky hold, and once you get there you have 3 schools to pick from, but you can only get one school, even if you do the quests for the other ones
how do you get tier 3 focus ability
KILLER GRAMZ 360 You unlock it with inquisition perks in the military section.
ok thanks
Awesome vidéo for awersome game :)
How to unlock darkness magic?
I assume you mean Necromancy? There is no "darkness magic". You have to speak to the specialization teacher in Skyhold. Viuus Anaxas. He will tell you what to do.
Mark of the rift: Away with you!
i feel like the only thin the game is lacking is combat, and then abilities/spells we r very limited also the graphic/animation of the abilities and spells feels vastly underwhelming, i havent played the other dragon age games i would assume they made the spell animations better
do i get them all?
How do your turn your powers back on when you go on a mission?
On AC unity can you do any more vids on sans-culottes hoods
Sorry I don't understand your question? Do you mean other sans-culottes parts like pants or belt?
Soooooo no blood magic?
Nice. 👍
Where is the fucking fireball spell ? How does something so inherently basic get missed ?
what is called the skill tree who starts at 9:32?
Es Osis Knight-Enchanter
thx dude
I am gonna abuse that firestone spell
You can't.
Hey I just thought of something funny. You guys/girls realize we could’ve met in a circle tower in another life haha since most nages are detained there.
Then taking the opportunity to plan a break out during the mage rebellion, kicking some templars asses. And then... "given the fact if the Inquisitor has chosen Leliana as divine, who decides to let the mages govern themselves"... maybe creating a Guild.
Or being sent back to the circle of magi, all thanks to Vivienne...
