I have been lugging around my same Rigid boxes for 5+ years, I can definitely vouch for their durability. I've used them since before we did the school remodels. Same boxes going strong without any kind of breakdowns. I must concede they don't have the options of the others but bang for the buck is great as a mobile tool storage option. I have 3 plus sets of them. I love Pack Out but couldn't resist the bang for the buck and they have lasted.
I came from property management, i got rigid for my first set. I’m a little disappointed. The large box is weaker on the top and has a hole now, the middle box lost a latch, and the small box took a small hit to the corner and has water intrusion issues now. It’s definitely a good system, but not the greatest.
As a homeowner and do-it-yourselfer I love the Ridgid System.. it has all the features I need to do the things I need to do either at home or somewhere else.... it's a great system for the little money that you're spending for it.... Thanks Vince...👍🏁
I lined and riveted a bucket liner along the interior of my ridged bottom box to aid in organization...I worked with it through 5 states,4 years.... once my hand tool work started staying in a shop and I did not travel anymore I gave them to a local musician who STILL totes them to bars, and clubs for wires, and other “musician stuff”.... Last time I seen him,he was bragging as he lost his grip on the stack, and they fell off a loading dock.... Didn’t even crack them. 👍🏽 They are bad to the bone and WELL worth the $99.99 no matter what field you are in.
I'm an commercial electrician and own the Ridgid packout..it's held up amazing and I'm very hard on it .after breaking many cheaper boxes after a few days i had to get the Ridgid and would definitely buy another set if ever needed it's been over a year now
I have the rigid system with the rolling box and the second box on top, I love it, the second box snaps into place securely, the handle is a bit wobbly but I haven't used a mobile tool chest that the telescoping handle doesn't wobble a little and for under $100 for the two I can look past it. If you're just getting into the trades or a DIY-er this is the way to go in my opinion.
I'm neck deep in the Ridgid system, a dozen or so pieces, no wheeled base cause I usually have a hand truck around. Just saw the new Milwaukee drawer unit - very nice! Between the drawers and the base plate I'm thinking seriously about starting over in spite of the cost. Starting out 40 years ago I used milk crates. I made wheeled dollys and drawer units that nested with the milk crates. I had flip up side tables and parts drawers. It was a lot of work to make the stuff but there are some features I still miss a bit. Milwaukee is the best system I've seen yet but they didn't have much when I started buying Ridgid. I'm retired now but seem to stay just as busy as ever.
Packiut rolling organizer system inserts. First time taking it to TV we'd job site, I had to unpack all my finish carpentry tools. During my off season, custom made organizer out of 1-by It holds my tapes, chisels, small pry-flat bars extra Batts. Now us quick and easy have doubled my storage space. Instead of opening the lid seeing everything in the box now open the lid is neatly organized for more efficiency. Nice video vince
Packouts great, but without any drawers I still prefer the systainers. Also find it easier to pack a stack of systainers by hand. Great vid- thank you!
I bought into the Ridgid system because of availability and price... and I like the way they lock together. They don't have all the options of the other systems, but that's okay with me. (That inner lid panel can be removed for more storage space - it really doesn't do much.)
Just tried this and it works, although I shreded some plastic using flatheads but got it off in the end. There's structural plastic supports underneath so you only get half the extra space you'd expect, but that may be worth it for some.
I originally bought the Husky system a few years ago and for about a year or so it held up pretty well. After a while though the plastic covers started cracking and breaking as well as losing the latches. I just bought the Rigid System and bought enough of them where they stack up to my neck height (I'm 5'10") So Far I like it and feel like I could kick this thing down a flight of stairs and it would hold up just fine.
bad ass video! I have carried the ridgid for 5 years at work. very tough! just switched to pack out for the versatility. loving it! now I find I have more boxes than tools.... lol
What's great about 2.0 is the boxes are so deep you can still use those trays and put big tools in box and they don't get in the way of the trays. Best box I've ever had
Recently got a job as a field service technician on forklifts and tools need to be mobile. I looked into dewalt and ended up going with Milwaukee pack out. The boxes r similar in size but Milwaukee has more storage room inside. Moving boxes around to get to different ones is easy with their system. It’s like having full size tool box very happy with it so far. Do wish they had drawer systems on their boxes make it easier for wrenches and sockets.
Love my rigid boxes. I guess having the packout radio or packout charger is a need for some people. I need a box that fits as much as possible. When I was comparing the 3 in store when I was ready to buy, I measured the inside dimensions and found the rigid had more room in every direction except for depth I believe packout had an extra 1/2". I was sold with rigid.
Awesome video Vince. I’ve got the Ridgid pro system and I’m looking at getting the Toughsystem 2.0 this fall. I 100% agree with your ranking. I love the Packout, but it’s just too much doe-ray-me for what I need... Enjoy your evening....
This set is the best. Milwaukee knocked em all out!!! My gripe with the rigid system I have is that over time the extending handle starts to stick and won’t retract. And the plastic teeth at the bottom of the box, where a lower boxes handle connects, wears down and they come loose on their own. The Dewalt system has problems with the latching. My latches became very tight and hard to close one of them broke off and was replaceable but required maintenance. The handle on the top that I never use is also broken off. None of these problems with my Milwaukee and they are the most versatile and durable by far.
I use the PackOut for work and one of the nicest features IMO is the half-width hardware trays. You could set those up for all sorts of different tasks while keeping the bulk of less specialized tools below. I’d love to have it at home.
Was fortunate to find a deal on 7 ridgid boxes for 150 bucks. Absolutely a steal and the only down side was that a couple boxes have a little road rash. Functions perfectly though!
I must say that you really shocked me with your number 1 revelation... I bought the packout system. The bottom wheeled box is for my work truck, the other two I put on my snowmobile in conjunction with the available mounting plate, simply awesome! I bought a second plate and can easily move my boxes from my Skandic to my Titan easily. Incredible quality, very robust.
I've invested in the Bosch system. I don't take them out of the garage. Fits nicely on their pull out shelves. I'm slowly migrating to Milwaukee packout for out and about jobs
I've had a couple pieces of the Milwaukee packout for about 2 years now (the base and the largest attachment box). They are very well made products that have held up to life on construction sites with only barely noticeable scratches and dings in the plastic(plastic which feels like the toughest I've owned, it's seriously tough stuff). My only complaint is that more of the pieces don't work well for what I'm hauling. I don't have small bits that need organizing, so the smaller sizes don't really work and I end up throwing a soft sided bag(not the packout soft bag) on top instead of using a third piece. I could use the milk crate piece instead, but my soft bag closes up so I don't have to worry about stuff failing out going over gravel or unfinished flooring, and it's a bit pricey for a milk crate, couldn't justify it when I bought the other pieces.) The mounting plate for your truck rocks, so much better than a bunjee cord. Would recommend them 100%, especially so if the small box sizes work for you.
I prefer the smooth outer surfaces of the Dewalt as it makes it easier to clean off. Both the Milwaukee and Ridgid have nooks and crannies all over them which catch and hold crap indefinitely.
I have both systems Rigid and Milwuakee love them both...bought them because I like the look and the concept.. Remember the Stanley Promobile job chest.. I have that one too I bought form home depot when I bought my house 2009, no comparison
Good show guys! Was able to pick up the $500 dewalt kit with the rolly cart. Thanks for the heads up on those!! Amazing deal! Only disappointment is the rolling box does not fit under the tonneau cover. Wtf?!? Will keep dragging the rigids around. 5 yrs and runnin strong!
Thanks for mentioning the Bosch system Vince. I use the Ridgid boxes and Huskey bags for all of my business needs. Just an interesting FYI. German Metabo just introduced the copy of the SYSTANER system which is the Festool system, the European Makita stackable system, and also yes the current Bosch stackable which is still alive and well in Europe. So my point is, the SYSTANER system is an updated version of the out dated US Bosch system also made is Israel 🇮🇱 😀
I have the ridgid system and bought them (boxes only) because they’re reasonably priced and I have loved them. However I really like the versatility of the pack out HOWEVER I cannot justify to myself and my boss(the wife) to spend $700+ on a whole new box system just because it’ll be more customizable and easier to work out of. Eventually I may switch to team red boxes but that’ll be in quite a few years.
And depends on the country. In my country, Milwaukee is too expensive because just a few places sell their products, and because of the taxes is like 3x the price in USA.
Im definitely getting the DeWalt tough system 2.0. Absolutely awesome and informative videos! Thank you Vincent! I also had no idea that Keter made all three of those cases.
Another drawback with all of these systems is if your working on a finished floor and you take your system from your truck to the house/building and you get a stone wedged in your wheel and it scratches the floor, it could cost you big time. Just another thought.
Found someone throwing away a rigid rolling box bc it had a broken wheel. Bought two new wheels and viola. I already have the dewalt toughsystem for service calls, been used alot and has held up perfect, not brittle at all.
Ive got the Ridgid boxes, they're pretty beefy and the price is low. I also have some Makita Mak Pak. Its good for certain things but they're kinda pricey.
Although the Milwaukee packout is expansive and versatile, I’m not impressed with the overall quality. The wheels seize up and break, and the thing is expensive. I went with toughsystem 2.0.
Didn’t know about keter. I’m starting out as a carpenter, I love your content I find it really helpful and insightful. Love the energy you put into making these videos for our benefit thank you!
Milwaukee all day long. As a plumber, I have an entire wall of my box truck dedicated to their organizer boxes with the mounting plates for all of my fittings, screws, drill bits, etc. Its a dream. No more sorting through stacks of shitty fitting organizers. No more building heavy wood shelving units. Everything bolted on the wall, with visible tops so I know what's what.
Hello, I will share my experience with the 3rd place system and I have been using it for 4 years. Producer KEATER in Europe, you can buy the orange version in DIY stores, the gray version is available mainly online. The gray set is available with organizers with containers and a transparent cover for a better overview of the contents. The most important thing when buying was the price because the basic set costs a third of the competition and is equally durable, and we are only limited by the imagination of how to fit them under ourselves.
I just got the Milwaukee Packout, but been using a rigid two stack for fives years just needed more options for organizing and storage. Both seem to be work.
Unfortunately a lot of trades people do a bad job in my area and rush to leave. Then we have to call them back to fix their mistakes. Well this used to be the case. Untill I started learning those trades from RUclips.
Im a steeler fan black n tellow baby so I can never ever buy anything milwaukee, dewalt till I die lol. I like the back and back pack feature but Im fine with my dewalt 2.0. Awesome video...
I have Packout with drawers and Festool sustainer Workstation. Festool is smaller, but it has drawers and specialized for each tool. I can put more stuff in the Packout. That so far has been my go to. Now they have Link from Ryobi. I am waiting for them to come out with drawers.
Well well well... I gotta agree with you in many points, still I think DeWalt tough 2.0 is the better choice for most commercial users. BUT you are damn right with the lights of Milwaukee. Those are bloody awesome and I hope DeWalt just copy’s that idea
Some of the DeWalt / Stanley organizers had been made in Israel for a VERY long time, but by a company called ZAG. Now the identical items are made in USA.
My favourite is Milwaukee packout, least favourite is ridgids system I've had two and on both the handle seems to be the weak point of it and the wheels
I love my toughsystem 2.0. No doubt packout is the best. I stayed away because of all the accessories they offer... I'd end up spending too much money building a bad ass stack.
I have the husky stack system works well for me had to buy the extra box for it but holds all my cordless tools, hand tools and laser I use all the time. It has its cons but for the money am very happy with it
Milwaukee needs a solution on par with Dewalt’s shop and van racks. I have a shop wall mount rack full of drawers in the Dewalt system that still really don’t have a good match in the Milwaukee system. I can slide them in and out of the rack as needed or simply leave them mounted when I’m in my shop and still easily access everything in the drawers. I haven’t seen the Packout drawers in person yet but I’m not sure they quite match the way I can use what I currently have. After getting Kaizen foam inserts for the drawers and setting them up I have a great shadow boxed set up for all my hand tools.
The cool part if dewalt 2.0 fits all the original tough system stuff, the newer craftsman versastak is literally the same, so they work too for less money plus craftsman has more new compatible tool kill boxes (socket sets, etc)
So I am a traveling electronics technician. We carry Jensen boxes. Id like something more modular that I could carry not just tools but also my safety harnesses, hard hat, etc in. And I need to fly with it. Flying with it makes it real tough. I like the rigid bc it has a solid rod to lock all the boxes together. If ANY of the others would do that, ID BE ALL OVER IT! Having said that, has anyone flown with any of these systems?
I just invested in the Rigid system. I am hoping that they add more to it as time goes on. I would love more insert options, the half box, the bag, the low profile stuff that milwaukee has, but for half the price of the milwaukee roller base I was able to get 2 Pro System Gear 10-Compartment Small Parts Organizers (great for all my nuts, bolts, screws and nails) and a 22 in. Pro Organizer ( holding all my electrical stuff & Tools) If anyone hears of Rigid expanding their Pro System I would love to know.
I wish they had just the organizer with all the screws and stuff and one were you could open that up and you could have your drills your screw gun your charger all-in-one a hard case that would be something Worth it I would be the 1st one to buy 1
I love your videos and thanks for let us know when are there a good deals for tools, but this time I will disagree about your review Ridgid system are not strong enough for every day Job the wheels go deteriorate after 3 months used ,and very hard to move around ,the dewalt broke very easy .but you right Milwaukee are number one because all the accessories you can get ,but I using flex packs rig now I hop they go as well Milwaukee with accessories because quality are very good and smooth to move heavy tools every day work.
Dude I'm dyin for a Dewalt coffee maker myself. Lol We don't have a whole lot of cold days in FL but on some sleepier hungover winter days I'd love to have some coffee fresh.
What’s your take on the Craftsman Versastack? I get a bigger discount on it than the one I get on other tools, and have been considering it but don’t wanna get it and then just need to turn around and get something because it didn’t get it done.
I did not know that Keter made all these boxes. I thought that Festool might have been involved in making them. I have a lot of the pack out boxes and the ones I use the most are the small ones for bolts, nuts. Another pack out for electrical parts. None of the parts transfer to the other bins wether you drop it or turn it upside down. Love the Milwaukee Pack Out System.
I have been lugging around my same Rigid boxes for 5+ years, I can definitely vouch for their durability. I've used them since before we did the school remodels.
Dewalt's ToughSystem 1.0 was TeRRiBLe. You have to wear garden gloves for protection to deal with those hazardous yellow side latches!
You need to check out tough built products. Believe it or not. Really good
I have Packout with drawers and Festool sustainer Workstation. Festool is smaller, but it has drawers and specialized for each tool. I can put more stuff in the Packout. That so far has been my go to. Now they have Link from Ryobi. I am waiting for them to come out with drawers.
this guy's entertaining to watch
Well well well... I gotta agree with you in many points, still I think DeWalt tough 2.0 is the better choice for most commercial users. BUT you are damn right with the lights of Milwaukee. Those are bloody awesome and I hope DeWalt just copy’s that idea
Yep! Time is money Vince. Thanks brother
Vince you are correct in your opener.
From tool.ttote bang from.bucket boss to milwaukee packout.
It just feels like quality...
Some of the DeWalt / Stanley organizers had been made in Israel for a VERY long time, but by a company called ZAG. Now the identical items are made in USA.
I bought a set of the Dewalt for me and my worker for the holidays😀
My favourite is Milwaukee packout, least favourite is ridgids system I've had two and on both the handle seems to be the weak point of it and the wheels
I love my toughsystem 2.0. No doubt packout is the best. I stayed away because of all the accessories they offer... I'd end up spending too much money building a bad ass stack.
I have ridgid tool boxes but they are so limiting because there are only 5 boxes so i am switching to milwaukee pack out and so far i love it
How about the orange homedepot bucket system?? The cheapest 🤔and if you get lids ..its stackable
I have the husky stack system works well for me had to buy the extra box for it but holds all my cordless tools, hand tools and laser I use all the time. It has its cons but for the money am very happy with it
Best part of my day!!! Just got off work too!!
You right vince, only thing is that i think, Ridgid is better than DeWALT on tool boxes
Milwaukee pack out 3pcs is on sale at Home Depot for $200 right now !!! Definitely some good content !!! Thanks for the review !!!
So they have a box (with foam) for the rear handle circ and 30* framing nailer?
Yes I knew that all three are made by jeter now too....loved your video ,,buying milwaukee ones now to for my contractor business now too.
Video 👍🏻
Tool box 👍🏻
Yep. I knew keter. I bought my first rolling box from keter. Solid box
The cool part if dewalt 2.0 fits all the original tough system stuff, the newer craftsman versastak is literally the same, so they work too for less money plus craftsman has more new compatible tool kill boxes (socket sets, etc)
Highlight of the day 🛠!
Wow I like keeter stuff but did not know they made all three of those platforms boxes. I was actually expecting systainer to make the list.
Pro Organizer ( holding all my electrical stuff & Tools)
If anyone hears of Rigid expanding their Pro System I would love to know.
I wish they had just the organizer with all the screws and stuff and one were you could open that up and you could have your drills your screw gun your charger all-in-one a hard case that would be something Worth it I would be the 1st one to buy 1
Dewalt is 2.0 system is great using it everyday.
Dewalt is my to go tool but you are right vince milwaukee packout is very very good they made so much stuff for it
I really liked the DeWalt.
I love your videos and thanks for let us know when are there a good deals for tools, but this time I will disagree about your review Ridgid system are not strong enough for every day Job the wheels go deteriorate after 3 months used ,and very hard to move around ,the dewalt broke very easy .but you right Milwaukee are number one because all the accessories you can get ,but I using flex packs rig now I hop they go as well Milwaukee with accessories because quality are very good and smooth to move heavy tools every day work.
i dont like the colour but for sure its amazing that setup, and left there the box with drawers, this will go make more practical the setup
Here in Australia, you pay almost double for a Milwaukee equivalent to DeWALT ToughSystem 2.0 3 In-1 Tool Box Bundle.
Milwaukee needs to make a job site battery operated coffee and drink maker now too..love them too.
Dude I'm dyin for a Dewalt coffee maker myself. Lol We don't have a whole lot of cold days in FL but on some sleepier hungover winter days I'd love to have some coffee fresh.
GO Vince!
Your absolutely correct.
HIT THAT LIKE BUTTON!
That's probably why my Keter tables are so friendly with my Packouts
What’s your take on the Craftsman Versastack? I get a bigger discount on it than the one I get on other tools, and have been considering it but don’t wanna get it and then just need to turn around and get something because it didn’t get it done.
I did not know that Keter made all these boxes. I thought that Festool might have been involved in making them. I have a lot of the pack out boxes and the ones I use the most are the small ones for bolts, nuts. Another pack out for electrical parts. None of the parts transfer to the other bins wether you drop it or turn it upside down. Love the Milwaukee Pack Out System.
I’m thinking about getting one
I have the craftsman versa stack and I love it
Milwaukee New packout is amazing but expensive
