Alex. Please stop setting the trailer brake every time you get out of the truck. Only time to set that is when you parked for the night or parked getting unloaded/loaded buddy. Your air will last 10x times longer sir.
If that kenworth is anything like my company’s brand new 2024 peterbilt. It’ll bleed to 70-80 psi within 10 mins no matter what. And the dumb trucks require 90 psi to shift out of neutral. Maybe that’s ok when your otr, but when your a local fuel hauler it’s quite annoying when you have to sit in the loading rack with a line of trucks behind you waiting to load. I guess my company didn’t want to spend the premium price on Mack’s anymore 😭
When I cant sleep, I turn on a video of you backing to a dock.
🤣🤣
yeah me two 🕑🕝
Now that's funny.
Don’t worry about it
If you like listening to the 4ways this is the video for you
Don't wiggle that electrical cord to get it out. It spreads the prongs out and makes a loose connection. Just pull it straight out.
how this guy is still on tha road and half way famous blows my fuccin mind😂
I feel like this dude takes longer to back his trailer into a dock than the time it takes him to get loaded. You've been driving for years now Alex, you should have basic maneuverability figured out by now.
Always think like day one, confidence will kill you
@@FVG_alex_garciayeah I’m not a trucker, not yet at least but it took me about a year to master 5th wheel campers and gooseneck trailers. Thought I’d never figure it out but one day it just clicked.
Ive never seen someone run out of air so many times backing up like you do its literally every video! lol
If you have a sleeper window on the passenger side of the truck, that is also a helpful reference for blind backing
It's a dust cap dude, not an air plug!😂😂 4:48
I can’t with this guy. Lmao
@@tjbrower 🤣🤣 He made it sound so serious, "I have to do some repairs to the trailer". Lol

Tandems forward that backing woulda been alot easier to begin with, and don't worry bout people standing there I'm almost positive there not gunna stand there and let you hit them...stay off the brake so hard and you won't run outta air
Dude keep worrying about the grown ass man,”I can’t see you “ dude just drive the damn truck he’s not a kid he won’t stand in the way
He was depending on his set of eyes lol
Done plenty of those what i xall dungeon docks put your tandems allllll the way forward you can swing easy
You replace that DOT sticker for no reason it's still was able to be seen you might as well eat your lunch and grab a oak tree😢😢😢😢😢
Buddy is the hall monitor of the roads
Nah that’s DOT
The way you hold with the truck and trailer, just before you will reverse into that port is just dumb. Could have been done much easier.
Listen to the drivers that have experience, you always learn stuff out there on the road
True, there is some.good folks out there willing to help!
Alex never pop your pins in when you are jackknife that's a good way to share them off🎉😢😢😢
you really hooked your trailer that high??? dude youre the problem with trucking.
Bro cares more about the color of the trailer than the quality
Absolutely. I look for good tires mud flaps no damage and I'm rolling with that baby even if I have to clean it out myself.

I always back to dock first then slide you have better turning radius
Everytime you park you hit the trailer brakes, that’s why you’re always losing air, because 20-30psi is immediately lost into the trailer…and also your probably hitting the service brakes to hard, also using to much air
Yeah i only pull the truck brake out when i get out lol only time i pull both is when im done for the day 😂 but we are all different lol can’t tell em I don’t think he reads comments because of all the hate 😂😂😂
GE is difficult for Alex, only because he’s kinda stupid, as truck drivers go…..
Congrats to you on loving your job most of us don't. 👍👍👍😎
🤣🤣 Just another steering wheel holder 🙄
You mean your company so lame? You don't have a quote now. You have to text them every little thing such as a ride to the shipper. Dropping hook trailer pick up empty call. Oh my God your cup is f***** up
In trucking, space is your friend. For a back that tight, you don’t slide the tandems to the rear . You want your tandems to be all the way to the front. Even if your steers go over the curb a little , that’s fine .Once you’re in the dock, then you slide them to the rear for loading.
When you slide your rear tandems, it doesn't make it easier. It makes it harder.
Depends what you're doing... if you have limited room to pull up and straighten out it makes it easier
That was painful to watch .
As is tradition.
Very painful. Not sure if he is that ignorant, or just plays stupid.
@@truckinbrand4871 Like almost all RUclipsrs, they play for the camera.
@@truckinbrand4871 He knows full well because he sees the comments. I know this because he's even deleted mine in the past. This guy is constantly sharing bad practices while actively recruiting people so he can cash in on referral bonuses. Check out his linktree. The apply to GP link has his referral code embedded into it. He makes cash for every person they hire through his channel. The recruitment bonus is probably conditional though and I can't fault him for trying to make extra cash but pretty evident that he's just doing this for cash because he refuses to accept feedback and constantly gets himself stuck in easily avoidable situations.
I remember watching this guy years ago on Tiktok when he was just getting started out and it's astounding to me that he still gets lost in big cities because he doesn't do prep despite everyone in the comments telling him that it would make his life way easier. I think he's gotten himself stuck between a rock and a hard place. After watching this 20 minute video of him struggling to back into a bay, the title of the video reads as straight sarcasm. Can't even diversify his content and now he's stuck with trucking otherwise it's bye bye youtube like every other aspiring trucker who got duped into thinking this was a get rich quick scheme. I won't be surprised if it's only a matter of time before this guy makes his very own "I'm quitting trucking" video like many before him.
Looks like you're making a career out of this one.
Only move tandems back after you have backed in and are straight with the dock. Pull forward a bit and slide. You made it much harder to back in.
Some places require you to slide before entering the gate... Or they'll turn you away maybe know what you're talking about next time

Yeah I saw daylight. Always drop the trailer on the fifth wheel before sliding back in.
Ya I literally paused the video as soon as I saw that to come make this comment 😂😂
He’s about as good at backing up,as Biden is at closing the border….
I’ve learned more from reading the comments than I did in cdl school. Your mistakes are beneficial to me so keep at it buddy.
The plug on the BRAKE CHAMBER,is not for air loss. It is to keep water from getting in the chamber. So you Alex kiss butts now know why we criticize him. He doesn't know what he is talking about & always giving rediculous explanations. Maybe if you quit defending him,you will learn from the comments.
The things that you don't know what to call or call brake chambers and your truck driver😅
Hello Alex I love Trucking as well. I started after seeing your videos last year. I do mostly drop and hook in the South East region. If I see you on the road I’ll say Hi. John B.
don't forget your promise of trucking in INDIA after crossing 1 million subs...
His youtube bannner used to say "Collab with Trucking with Dave at 500k subs", which he changed and never did. So don't expect him to go through with what he says.
When applying the park brake keep the red button pushed in. Your air will build faster as you don't have to charge your trailer each time you release the brakes
Great tip , thanks. I do the same mistake too! 😊
You sure as he'll know how to make things difficult

Lol😊
I used to drive, mostly doubles, but also everything else except dry bulk and tanker.
I acquired blood clots in my right leg and had to quit. I'm soooo glad I didn't decide to do OTR.
What a major pain in the @$$ it is. All I did was pick up and drop trailers from one terminal to another, otherwise known as 'relay' driving.
So much easier. No customer docks, no *nothing* like that. Why wouldn't you just do regional 'relay' driving?
Never slept in my truck (paid-for hotels), Teamsters Union, was home in my bed every other night, etc.

Leave your tandems forward. You don't have to worry too much about tail swing. That would have made it easier for you to back in.

Making videos is the whole reason me got into trucking. He couldn't afford to do "vanlife" videos so he went to school for free to get his license and make trucking videos. It's not for the love of trucking.

You're one of those that don't get out and look if there's a gap between trailer and fifth wheel before hooking. I hope you will learn a lesson in the hard way one day. 🤦
I remember someone drop that close to my trailer to block the damage he did on the sides
4:36 that’s not how chambers work, Alex. That has nothing to do with the air. There’s an airbag in the inside. That hole is just to un tighten the bolt that holds the airbag.
Thanks, good to know!
Hole you covered on brake pods are for caging the brakes (aka manually releasing them) has nothing to do with loosing air for better braking.
Never slide tandems to the back when backing you make your job so much harder
Mad props to the dude who helped you back into that tight spot 👍
U love your youtube money that company runs off the spot market that's bad.
Another day in the trucking world of backing up into concealed places.
That cover on the brake chamber is not for preventing air from leaking out,it’s just a cover for where you can adjust the brakes.
Moving the tandems to the rear made it more difficult for you in that tight area
I work at GP TRANSCO too man and I absolutely love it here
So glad to hear that, I was looking reviews about company .thinking go there😊 are they more like a short haul company?

Moving those tandems all the way back just added to the already tight space you had to work with, you made your pivot point longer instead of shorter.
Another thing is…never slide the tandems when the truck is jacked knifed or slightly turned…it can bend the frame. And it causes the trailer to dog run sideways when driving down the road
He's not a rookie anymore ,lol he should know that!
@@ZaraDavosHe's been a bad boy
Agreed. It can also cause the pins to not engage correctly and not lock up right. I have a stop where I have to basically do this same manuever street back around a building and back to a dock. I always have my tandems all the way forward. Makes that swing tighter so you have room to pull up so you can straighten out before backing to the dock.
Been driving for 2 years. NEVER slid them while turned but always wondered why trailers would look sideways while driving down the road.
@@RickyOHD
Yep this is why. If the tandems aren't centered with the trailer.
So, as a truck driver who hauls tyson trailers on a dedicated account gotta say there trailers are top notch, and when they need to be repaired tyson is on it, no looking for emptys really as they are at there at the tyson facility's ready to go, also everybody talking crap about the backing, I can assure anyone, most are not good at backing, and the ones that are really good at backing have 30 years experience and about to retire.
bro be getting the WORST routes for real always
hey alex when your in a semi-tight location like that put your tandems in the middle, about the 10th or 11th hole and it will give you some better articulation without to much tail swing. Also if your company sends you to a lot of those locations request a cascadia they have a bit shorter wheelbase and it helps A LOT
Lol, he should know that ...he not a rookie!
I don’t think he like Freightliners very much.

I love my job ............................................................................................ BUT I really don't!
That engine light is killing me lol
I’ve actually confirmed that your truck has a air ridden transmission and that new trucks anymore come stock with that. How it works? It doesn’t in all reality because the transmission needs air to shift which helps the driver none except the range inhibitor (the fancy feature that makes you as a driver use your service brake which is obviously the brake pedal to shift which also takes away air as it is applied so it basically makes it to where it actually takes ALL of your air and has nothing to do with small air tanks your truck still has 125 PSI as required by many state DOT officials.
Keep pushing Alex...love your videos!
Only set and unset your tractor brakes using the yellow knob. No need to keep dumping the trailer brake system air.
You spend so much time dumping and refilling your trailer air system that it prolongs the agony.
I don’t even bother to comment it anymore.
Hey Alex, does the kenworth make your arms tired/ worn out when backing? Because that was my experience with the kenworth t680 I drove for a little bit. I’ve driven freightliner and international and I’ve never had that issue before. My friend said the same thing too about that with his kenworth as well. It’s like when backing you have no power steering at all. Also even when driving, it wears on my friends wrist, mine as well. Like is it a kenworth thing, because it really sucks.
Interesting, I have a Volvo and always thought that Kenworth is a better truck!

I wonder if he realizes that he doesn’t get paid to pick a choose which trailer he takes because of the color???? He gets paid to drive
