Alex. We all run into crappy places like this. Nothing you can do. Maybe we could ask a car or two to move. And maybe these places should know how tight it is without someone having to say anything. But you are doing what most people can't and bringing a lot of positive attention to trucking. Don't let anyone who is a rookie or veteran trucker tell you you're doing any less than they are. I've been trucking for a while now and there's always someone with an ego who wants everyone to think they never make a mistake
Talk about bs advice " Don't let anyone who is a rookie or veteran trucker tell you you're doing any less than they are" ..Rookies are doing less than veterans. Veterans have made the mistakes rookies can learn from. Especially as bad as it is now, proper veteran advice could save the career of some rookie. Only problem is there are many a driver with 5-10 yrs in and still have some bad habits that haven't bitten them yet. All it takes is ONCE out here and you could kill your career, or worse, kill someone.
Well said @beauschneider I wish this message could go out to all these guys out here, trucking would be such a better community and less hostile possibly but u got to many old stuck up grumps who don't wanna change lol
This isn’t a crappy place tho…he’s just not really that good of a driver. He could’ve easily made this a straight back but somehow ended up complicating the entire thing 🤦🏾♂️. And this is coming from someone who has only been driving a year. Never over-complicate your backs, use as much space as possible, and always GOAL. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him use GOAL. So obviously, he does need someone to tell him where he keeps consistently going wrong. Advice on how to improve/constructive criticism is precisely how we get better as drivers out here.
@6ixlxrd you have some valid points. I'm not perfect in my comments. I would never try to be or want to be. All I can hope for is to continually improve. As I think anyone with a level head is trying to do. I don't know if Alex is making these videos for the views and whatever monetization RUclips is giving him. I don't read too deep to look for what someone did wrong in a video though also because idk what editing he had to do to get the video to how it is currently. I've been driving a long time, my friend. And I have developed some bad habits myself that I try to be aware of and break myself out of. As my instructor years ago told me and I'll never forget is if you think you've got it all figured out its time to hang up the keys
Man you have to plan your escape after being unloaded. Looked like after you were unloaded you could have backed straight up and went out to your left on the street. Always slide your tandems up when your in a tight pinch just remember the trailer swing Keep on a trucking
Glad someone thought the same exact thing, that’s exactly what I would’ve done as a driver my self. I wouldn’t have even messed with going around the building knowing it wasn’t designed for semi traffic.
In fact here’s my diagram: 0-5 years: rookie 5-10 years: experienced 10-20: vet 20+: master I don’t know if there is anymore because I’ve been trucking for 25 🤷♂️.
25:56 yeah you caused yourself to nearly get stuck by moving your tandems nearly to the back lmao. If it was at the California pin you'd be able to easily scoot around that corner.
There was more than enough room to get a truck around that building.....but you gotta get over all the way and use all of the space you have!....these videos give me anxiety.
I normally don’t say this , but you made that first backing so much harder then it needed to be . It was literally a straight back after you pull all the way forward in the car park . Hope you learn from this .
He doesn't learn. He chooses to make his life difficult. I saw that the instant he showed it. "Oh cool back until the trailer is lined up with the curve, pull forward into the car park and just straight back it" but no.
You might have slid your trailer tandems all the way forward to get around the corner. The tail swing would not have been an issue but it would have gained you 4 foot of radius. Whenever you are on a corner short like that, go as far into it as you can - slide the tandems forward all the way keeping the truck parallel to the building then start forward again. Once you clear the corner you can reset your tandem placement.
An instructional video seen say the trailer and truck need to be straight inline with each other in order to slide the tandem. In any rate, somebody last week told me I shouldn't be here on this site, because I'm not a trucker 😐
I came here to say this. I would have moved them before the turn. Not all the way forward but instead of being where he was maybe the 3rd hole. That would have taken out the large tail swing but gave you enough to get around the corner.
Just constructive criticism, so don’t take offense, but no one is perfect and we all overlook things. Just in my experience I’ve learned to use every bit of space they give you. Not every back has to be a 90. Judge your surroundings and assess the best option.
You had a very tough job. Thank you for enlightening us about the realities of a road trucker’s life. Truckers contribute greatly to our economy so they should be appreciated and respected more, especially on a roads. I hope you are saving money to purchase your own rig and drive for yourself. Good luck on the road!
Every time I wanna say some shit I always remember that at the end of the day he has the balls to document his trucking journey regardless of his current skill set.👍
GOAL isn't just for backing, its for pulling in. I have parked and 4 way'd on a street to get out and look before pulling in to suspect spots in the early years.
@@MANILABOYYY Gonna be real with ya. I got mine in 93. It was far easier to learn from mistakes back then compared to now. These days the amount of luck you need to get through the learning curve of the first few years without incident, is insane. Best thing I can say is, don't give a F about what any other driver thinks or says, don't take any help backing anywhere from anyone. Get out and look YOURSELF for everything, put your eyes on everything. It IS going to suck with a lot of in and out of truck, but it is your CDL record, and if you can't keep her 100% clean from not tearing shit up.. you are just another mook like the millions of others...Good Luck

OK, that attack frog was about the funniest thing I’ve seen all day
If were a true chef you would have grabbed the frog and used it for lunch the next day … they are a delicacy in france
Alex buddy have you thought about taking a CDL refresher course?? 😬
Except he's already a two year novice. A veteran like that shouldn't need a refresher course so soon after getting his/them CDL.
Instead of going all the way around the building, just back up and then turn left out of the entrance.

Hahaha, right. Not for long with that bs attitude, especially if other trucks "make it" everyday.
