Ive got an idea for a scenario; Costal defense skirmish, mid 1930s tech, play as defenders, design home fleet. Raider fleet designed by randomly selected subscriber/patreon. Countries are mutually agreed participants choice. While your main fleets are out raising havoc, the enemy has snuck a raiding fleet to attempt to damage your port capabilities. You sally forth with what forces you can muster. Raiders get 2 BC, 3 CA and 5 DD. Defense fleet gets no more than 15 ships, all have to be of CL or DD class. Defenders win outright if they last 5 hours (enough time to radio reinforcement fleet to arrive) Raiders win if all defense boats destroyed. Ties decided by pts value of total combat ineffective ships (crew loss/sinking). BC =5pts CA = 3pts CL = 2pts DD = 1 pts Points and time limit are suggested changes to tweak the difficulty if this seems a bit soft. Seems like it would be a fun challenge to watch skilled admirals play out. Thanks for the fun videos otherwise!!! :)
The scoring is just straight forward. The whole operation is worth 464 points (that's including the amount of time you'll have to complete it). Scoring table - Soviet ships (sunk) & amount of time used: 1 transport = +5 points 1 CL = +10 points 1 CA = +35 points BC = +100 points Time used is no more than 1 hr. & 24 minutes = +144 points Scoring table - US ships (sunk) & time of completion: 1 DD = -11 points 1 CA = -16 points 1 SBB = -164 points Time used > 1 hr. & 24 minutes = -100 points
That Chinese battleship was one turret away from being a battleship-sized Atlanta. Also, is it just me, or has the AI designer gotten scary good at designing realistic-looking ships? It definitely doesn't wildly mismatch turrets and barbettes like it used to. I say this fully aware that the ship in this video was pre-designed.
I've got an excellent idea for a battle senario, Stealth. Year is 1964, the US Navy has sent the USS Illinois - 36 knt. 120,000 - 164,000-ton SBB with 12 16" guns (3 x 4 16"), lots of secondaries and no torps, 7 CAs, & 8 DDs to counter the Soviet's 1 BC, 2 CAs, 3 CLs, and 24 transports. All ships have to be from 1964, however the Soviet warships will be behind in technology such as poor armor and armor quality, terrible radar/sonars, and no torpedo launchers. The US warships will have 464% armor quality, max belt armor, and all of the most advanced tech. You'll be playing as the US, and your objective is to use your heavy cruisers to draw the attention of the 6 Soviet warships that are away from the convoy that they're escorting so that the USS Illinois and her screen of 8 DDs can annihilate the enemy convoy, and then help your heavies finish off the 6 Soviet warships. You'll have 1 hr. & 24 minutes to complete the mission, your 16 ships must be divided into 2 groups (group 1 - the 7 CAs, group 2 - the Illinois and her escorting destroyers), the destroyers are required to form a line in front of the Illinois and lay a smoke screen in order to conceal the SBB's position from the Soviets (lay the smoke screen after the convoy has been finished), and make sure that your heavies don't die to the 6 Soviet warships because if they do, then Operation Jayhawk would fail. Good luck Rear Admiral Stealth.
Latest tech year for custom battles is 1950 iirc, and armour quality doesn't get higher than ~205% in game. (With repeatable techs, which are only a thing in campaign, so it's lower in custom battles.)
Super Yammy was to have 20 inchers, while Yammy had 18's.

I have been waiting for a video like this for forever, I am so exited :D
With the demonstration of the Stormbird's 16-inc shortbarrel, we need to see a true "Mortar Battleship" sometime soon
yeah the YAMATO

This was a ship designed by another player. That's why it looked so well
Love your videos ❤
my disappointment is immerasurable. I was sure you´d put in a bonus clip where you get rid of that pesky speedboat...
I should have. My bad
yeah the strombird would been expected from the PAPER THIN ARMOR challenge years back (ammo detonation from)
you do get 6 tubes, and with the torpedo rules you have now that could be the difference in a close duel.
Should have called it baby Yamato
Yes sir
how are you setting the time up to 1950?
It's just a regular setting.
Yamato has 18-in guns
