Champion hands down.. Bought my first one for $5k fished out of it for several years then sold it for $10K. Consistently I see them sell for close to what they originally cost brand new
I may never get out of my Champion 187.
I have a 196, I got it with a decent trailer and locked up engine for only 2500, hull and transom were solid. During 2020, rebuilt the engine and restored the boat, including a beefed up transom, new electronics, trolling motor, and this year she's getting a new trailer. Less than 10k in it and it performs amazing.
I have a 04 203 bought for 12K 2 years ago. Hands down the best riding boat out there, no spray ever.

Thanks for doing the research an breaking it down. As you've said, the sample sizes are so small with the bass boat market its hard to keep on top of current trends but you do it better than anyone I've seen. Sure a hell of a lot better than just spouting out, "My brand holds it's value way better!"

Not that it is relevant anymore, but I am on my 2nd Legend. The first one, I paid $24k, I sold it 5 years later for $25k. Last year, I got one of the last V21 they made for $50k and have been offered $55k for it twice. As you said "pre White River" boats are built different.

I sold the z521 2017 with a SHO for basically the same I paid for it last year. in one day local buyer , it was in excellent shape
I should add the Puma STS is what I’d choose.
Bought my new 2021 Vexus vx20 for 88k kept it 2 years and had 100hrs on it …sold it for 82k. Guy from northern Idaho flew down and bought it!

Yeah there are certain boats that due to scarcity or cult followings that will always hold their value. They may take a little longer to sell, but you can get a better price for
Boats are worth what you can get out of them at sell. Rangers has a reputation for quality and being able to market. However Nitro are the best deals for cost new to reselling, Nitro owners will take less of a hit than any brand.
That 98k puma is my buddy’s boat.

Bass cat makes great boats, but after fishing out of an Eyra, it’s the last boat I’d purchase.
The bigger question is, which boat is going to demolish my bank account!
Ranger hands down example their 1980s to 1990s are still running 8-12k ..
ill never sell my 94 ranger. i see boats that are ten yrs old falling apart.
Suzuki is way better motor than Mercury, but not as fast. Suzuki for the guy that is keeping his boat.

You have accumulated quite the data base of used and new boats. Maybe you should consider putting that knowledge to work for yourself and become a 'personal shopper' for people that don't have the time or resources to do it themselves?
I've seen Chad on the water, no thanks on his Puma/Suzuki.
Two speeds?
Yep. Wide open, or nothing. He would shut down and water would end up to the seats from backwash. Would be backing up at idle speed, then, SLAM it into gear and floor it. I realize it's a "tool" for them, but GEEZZ. @@KenSmithFishing
