Age caught up and they started cleaning house. Stewart and Rickey Henderson went to Toronto in 1993. Canseco was traded to Texas. And McGwire started to break down.
LaRussa's best managing during his tenure at Oakland. Also with Bill King narrating this is a gem. Also what's underrated is the 25th Anniversary logo is pretty sweet.
My two favorite teams growing up where the Pirates and Athletics. I really wanted that World Series matchup in 1990 and sadly the Reds ruined that. Then came 1992 and I thought for sure this would be the year of the Pirates-Athletics World Series. 1992 sadly didn't have either of those teams in the World Series...
The end of an era. The A's had the highest payroll in baseball from 88-92, unthinkable today. The Haas family was losing money big time and it started to catch up with them in 92, so much so they dumped a ton of salary starting in 1993 and it hasn't been the same since.
The A's shoulda won it all in 92, if only they hadn't traded away Jose Canseco for Bobby Witt, Ruben Sierra, and a relief pitcher. Trading away Canseco changed the morale of the team and McGwire getting hurt didn't help much either. Without injuries and Lucky Home runs, I say the A's shoulda won from 1988 - 1992. Fuck u if u think differently

Great team that showed a lot of heart that year.
Man I love hearing those radio calls from Bill King and Lon Simmons--that really takes me back!!
Ron Darling pitched some great games in ‘92.
I used to watch this tape as a kid all the time. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
Very interesting year for the A's. Great to see them come back to form after a disappointing season in '91.
"I play better when I'm mad, and evidently Nolan doesn't" --LOL, that's classic!

As an A’s fan always thought a Pirates A’s World Series would have been fun.
Besides 1990 & 1992 there was a chance in 1971,1972,1974 & 1975 as well.
Thank you for the upload. Please if you can, upload 1992 ALCS games 1,2,3 or 4. We would greatly appreciate it. Thank you
LUV THE HAAS FAMILY AND THEIR COMMITMENT TO WIN!

And during that stretch they finished no lower than 3rd in average attendance. 30,000 to 35,000 a game
Yo their baseball cards as a kid...unforgetable!

Before Walter White became a meth king-pin he played 3rd base for the A's 6:25
